Ct Scan Indicates Possible Celiac Disease

Hi all,

My daughter (14) is not diagnosed, but I have a feeling that an endoscopy is in

her future. She has had abdominal pain since last November. The pain does not

appear to be gastrointestinal in nature, and is mostly constant. We really

thought she had chronic appendicitis as the pain is on the right side. She does

not have any other symptoms.

Anyhow, after having a normal ultrasound, they did a CT Scan and this is the

finding of the CT scan:

1. There is no evidence for acute appendicitis.

2. Diffuse wall thickening involving the duodenum, as well as the proximal and mid

jejunum with associated dilatation, differential considerations would include those described above, the primary consideration is that of celiac disease, further evaluation with a detailed small bowel exam is recommended.

3. 3.4 cm cyst within the left ovary with a trace amount of free fluid in the pelvis.

4. Scattered small mesenteric lymph nodes throughout the abdomen, likely reactive in nature.

Ok, I had gone yesterday and got the report from medical records and our dr.

appointment is tomorrow. I'm just trying to get a heads up on what to expect.
