I had a positive antiendomysial antibody. He told me right after my scope I had classic celiac disease bowel changes. I've been gluten-free for 2 weeks now. He just called me with my pathology and I have complete vilious atrophy. So why do I feel like I've been hit over the head with a 2x4????

I felt the same way...it's because it's such a massive life change, don't you think? (I was just diagnosed this past Tuesday...)

I just went to the grocery store for the first time after my dietary appointment. It took me THREE HOURS TO SHOP with this booklet I was given. I even had to make a call to a manufacturer while I was there...

How old are you? Do you have kids that have it as well?

Anyways - you'll do well...I think I might be feeling better already... :D

Because it's real, and it's quantified now. You don't know if maybe this is a minor little thing that is transient that hasn't really had a significant effect on your body; you know that you certainly have a serious case of celiac disease and that you must go gluten-free for life and have a lot of intestinal damage to be repaired as you heal. Getting hit with that, no matter what we try to prepare for, is tough. But you have a head start - you're already on the gluten-free diet. That's one small blessing.

From their website I see "organic barley leaf powder" as an ingredient. Keep in mind that the gluten is in the kernel, and not in the leaves. https://drinkag1.com/about-ag1/ingredients/ctr

Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.

Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to rib pain. Chest pain stemming from the ribs ccould be costochondritis, which involves inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone. This pain can range from mild to severe, potentially mimicking heart attack symptoms, and is often worsened by breathing or movement. Other potential causes include muscle strain, rib fractures, or even referred pain from other conditions.  It will also help to chose vegetables low in omega 6.
