  1. Ah, poor little man! I have 3 right now and feel like I am DYING! Kanka works wonders for me. I was told by my dentist that Oragel can make the tissue hard, which causes the sore to take longer to heal. I have always found that putting peroxide on frequently helps as well. Hope it gets better soon!
  2. So Lanigan had the scopes and biopsys done this morning. Every looked heathy with the naked eye, but he took 11 biopsies from 4 different areas. We will get those results back Monday. Dang the waiting. We will get all the lab results then as well. He is thinking he might have eosiniphilic esophageous something or another(long word mommy hasn't quite memorized...
  3. Thanks everyone for the kind words and allowing me to vent. I just can't believe how selfish some people can be. I can't stand the remarks... The, "Oh, if he stays away from gluten and is later reintroduced he will be fine..." What the freaking heck. I just wish she wouldn't act like she knew what she was talking about. It'd be like me telling her that if...
  4. He had an appt. Monday, and he goes in for his upper and lower GI and biopsy tomorrow. I've talked to the doc about the biopsy, and we are more than likely going to hold off. If he sees what he needs to see with the scopes, he'll stop. Otherwise, he'd really like to figure out what is going on, so I have given him permission to, in the case he doesn't see...
  5. thanks for the encouragement. it's nice to hear from people who've had to go through the same or similar things with their babies. they aren't going to let me go back with him... but, i know we will all be okay...
  6. So, my niece was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January. She had just turned 1. Well, my sister is FURIOUS with me that my son is sick. She sees Lanigan's "problem" as trivial compared to Hailee's and has asked me not to talk about it with our family so that the "attention" is pulled away from Hailee! Seriously, grow up! It's not like this is a contest...
  7. I am not sure what doctors you are currently seeing, or from what hospital, but my mom is a manager at the Cleveland Clinic. I went through some neurological stuff through there and they were alright.
  8. So, yesterday was our appointment with the Ped. GI doc. He seems very competent, knowledgable. Lanigan is in the 1st percentile. So far, his doc has said very little, but we are having a biopsy and both an upper and lower GI done on Friday. Mommy is scared. I am so afraid of them putting my little one under anesthesia. He is going to run the majority of the...
  9. we do log his weights, at least weekly, since he has been dropping so badly... he didn't look that unhealthy before, but he is really starting to look rough... i feel so bad. today is our appointment with the ped GI doc, so hopefully we at least start to figure something out.
  10. I am just wondering what everyone's experiences were as far as weight gain goes? DS is not even on the charts he is so small. He was in the third percentile, but has lost over a pound in the last 9 days, which put him below the charts. After we start a gluten free diet, how long do you thing it will take him to start gaining weight?
  11. i have no milk supply anymore. is there a way to have a supply again from being dry?
  12. I am not on a gluten free diet at this point. I slipped off the diet after I had been on in for quite some time, and haven't been on a gluten free diet for several years now. I am not even sure if a gluten free diet would make a difference as far as the immediate future and him getting "better". It's like his little body has hit a snapping point. He hasn...
  13. he is on a lactose free formula right now. neither of my boys can handle any milk based formula except lactose free. my 3 year old still does a lot better on lactaid, but does okay with real milk.
  14. we have an appointment monday with a ped GI doc... thank goodness... i could go on and on about how angry this base hospital has made me. grrrrrrrrrr.
  15. my son has been "diagnosed" from symptoms only, and after no other answers have been found...
  16. Alright, so Lanigan is 9 months old. He was born weighing 8lbs 10 oz, so started off on the "bigger" side... He was diagnosed with acid reflux at 2 weeks. He screamed non stop and was almost impossible to get to stay latched on. They put him on Zantac, then Prevacid, and finally Axid. The axid did improve things, but minimally. When he was about 4 months...
  17. do they test for celiac?
  18. Hello everyone, my name is Michelle. My son's name is Lanigan. He is 9 months old and was just diagnosed with celiac. I am feeling very overwhelmed by all of this... any pointers would be great. He is a very sick baby right now. It also appears he might have a heart issue, but the cardio doc doesn't want to look into it to much til we are a bit better otherwise...
