  1. Yes, Rice dream does have gluten. we use Vance's Foods DariFree, which has no gluten, dairy, or soy. I'm no expert, as my son has just been off gluten for 4 months, but I'm guessing it depends on how long they've been intolerant and how much damage has been done to the intestine? My son has somewhat normal BMs, but even after being very careful for ...
  2. Thanks for the tips; I've still got a lot to learn. I can tell this is going to be a great resource. And it's nice to know the increased sensitivity isn't uncommon. Poor kid already can't eat so much, though: milk, soy, nuts, legumes, shellfish, strawberries, artificial colors...it goes on and on. I hate to see new sensitivities start! Another question...
  3. I have the same questions for my son. He has multiple food intolerances already (the big 8 except for corn, plus artificial colors, chocolate, strawberries) and since going gluten-free 3 months ago he's becoming more intolerant--citric acid and tomatoes, maybe potatoes? are causing problems (behavioral) too. I'm glad he's not the only one. I feel like...
  4. My son has more energy, eats less, and behaves better.
  5. My son used to eat huge portions and was hungry all the time. He was overweight as well. Since taking him off gluten his appetite has moderated noticeably and he's lost 4 pounds. I read somewhere that because the body is not getting the essential fatty acids it needs (and probably other nutrients?) it craves food to try to get what it needs. Do anyone...
  6. My son has multiple food intolerances and since eliminating gluten 3 months ago, it seems like he's much more sensitive to other foods, too. I still haven't figured out why.
  7. Hi, I have a question about increased sensitivity to foods after removing gluten from the diet. My 7-year-old son appears to be gluten intolerant, the most lately-discovered in a long line of food intolerances including milk, soy, nuts, shellfish, legumes, artificial colors, strawberries, chocolate, all of which cause behavior changes. He hasn't been...
  8. Hi, I have a 7-year-old son who has not been diagnosed as celiac yet, but I'm fairly certain. It's the last in a long line of food intolerances that have caused mood and behavior problems for him since he was very young. His health has improved immensely since we took him off gluten but it seems he's a) become much, much more sensitive to gluten...
  9. I do not have celiac disease (my son may) and I'm new to these pages, but I'd like to add one thing. When you do get better, don't be afraid to try building some muscle. I used to feel weak and tired all the time until I started lifting weights. Having muscle raises your metabolism--I've never felt so good in my life. A good site: Open Original Shared...
  10. Hello, I'm brand-new to these postings and new to watching out for gluten. I have a little boy who has behavioral reactions to a whole slew of foods, including milk, soy, nuts, seafood, artificial colors and now we've figured out gluten as well. I just read Rice Dream isn't safe? He can't have soy or regular milk, and I'm guessing oat milk is not...
