  1. I've been following the recent thread about Enterolab and was wondering if there are a lot of FALSE POSITIVES with the stool testing? Has anyone known someone who received a Negative result? It seems like everyone gets a positive--however, with that said, this is a Celiac message board so naturally most people are positive. I was found positive by a blood...
  2. Thanks so much for all of the replies! I have an appt. scheduled with my obgyn next week. I didn't even think to have my blood levels checked again for gluten. I was originally diagnosed through blood so that is a good idea. As for Lyme, I actually had Lyme and was even treated with a Picc line for many months. I heard Lyme is really hard to get rid...
  3. I am trying to figure out why I have been feeling so lousy for the past few months. I was diagnosed with Celiac about 3 years ago and have been on the diet ever since. I felt great during my pregnancy (my son is now 18 months) and breastfeeding. After I stopped breastfeeding, things seemed to go downhill. I just feel very tired and am starting to battle...
  4. Bananas make me so sick too! I have read that you can eventually re-tolerate foods in the future that you cannot tolerate now. I sure hope that is true because I feel like I can't eat anything anymore! I have a really hard time with brown rice too so I have cut out all rice. I have also cut out dairy. I am hoping that I just feel so lousy due to all...
  5. Thanks Doll for all of the info! I agree that Hashimoto's is a big part of my problem. I was diagnosed with that at age 13 and have always had trouble keeping my numbers stable. I believe the Celiac symptoms started right at the same time, but everyone kept concentrating on the Hypothroidism so the Celiac was missed for years. I have begun to read more...
  6. Thanks for the replies. I do exercise (pilates and walking) and I am trying to determine if there are more food intolerances I have not figured out yet. I just feel that I should be feeling much better at this point being on the gluten free diet. I used to think also that my health problems were not all related to Celiac, but now I am curious. I live...
  7. Hi Everyone, I am very happy that I found this board and am grateful to be learning so much information! One thing that I am glad to have discovered is that other people are going through what I am going through--that you do not necessarily feel completely well (much much better, of course, but not completely healed) after being on the gluten free diet...
  8. Do not be too hard on yourself! Mistakes do happen and hopefully she did not get any crumbs from your toaster.
  9. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was so hoping that someone would recommend someone. Nancy, were you ever a member of a Chronic Fatigue board? There was a teacher in NOVA named Nancy from another board and I was just curious if it was you? Thanks again for the Dr.'s info!
  10. Hi Everyone, I just do not understand how a person can continue to develop new intolerances as time passes. I was diagnosed with Celiac 3 years ago and now I feel like I can barely eat anything. I assume some of the intolerances were always there, but now I am getting direct reactions from all sorts of foods. I used to be able to just avoid gluten...
  11. I think a lot of EnjoyLife foods are made with brown rice. I have a horrible time with brown rice. I really cannot tolerate any rice, but brown rice gets me really sick. There are not too many people who have trouble with rice, but I thought I would mention it.
  12. Thank you so much for the replies. I think I will order the Enterolab tests. We go for his 18 month checkup at the Ped tomorrow so I will see what she says as well. I just know all too well from experience that far too many doctors are not familiar with Celiac. My biggest concern is eczema like patches (raised yellowish and dry) he has all over his body...
  13. We just got back from a trip yesterday and had no problem taking food on the plane. I had some beef jerky, Lara bars, raisins and potato chips. I saw lots of people with food, just no drinks or other liquids. One woman tried to take salsa on and she was not allowed because the checker said it was liquid based. They are pretty nice about giving out lots...
  14. Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed with Celiac about 3 years ago at age 25. I now have an 18 month old son. He has some eczema, occasional diarrhea/constipation (when sick with a cold) and has been catching a lot of colds/viruses lately. Overall he seems healthy and nothing stands out as an obvious symptom of Celiac. However, I suffered for 25 years before...
  15. Kerri, I agree that is it so difficult to cut out so many foods. My absolute favorite food in the whole world was M&M's. When I cut dairy out, I had to give those up! But I did find some dairy free chocolate chips so that helped. I am thinking about trying that Paleo diet. I just printed out a bunch of the recipes on the website. But I cannot...
  16. Kerri, I can imagine how you are feeling because I often feel the same way. I will feel okay sometimes, but then horrible other times. For the most part, I feel much better than before I started the gluten free diet (3 years ago), but I just don't always feel like everything is right. I have started to notice many other problem foods. I definitely...
  17. Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed with Celiac about 3 years ago. I have an 18 month old son and I am not sure whether I should test him now. His weight is fine and he doesn't have any obvious symptoms that would point directly to Celiac. But I guess I worry about it because I suffered for so many years. He has actually been quite healthy until this summer...
  18. I think you can definitely be intolerant to all grains. I have been on the gluten free diet for 3 years now and did feel better than before the diet, but never as good as I thought I should. Slowly I have realized that many foods are giving me the same reaction, especially grains. I actually get the strongest reaction from rice now. I kept thinking, ...
  19. Hi, I am sure this has been asked before, but can someone help me with what restaurants in Las Vegas serve gluten free food? Thank you!
  20. My post does sound funny when I read it again! I know that the only way to really know for sure is to try. I guess we all want magic answers. It is so hard to give up so many foods but it is nice to know other people are going through the same thing-not that I would wish it on anyone though! Thanks for all the help!
  21. Patti, How do you make your grain free chocolate chip cookies? I love chocolate chip cookies, but I have been eating ones with rice in them. I need to find an alternative. Thanks! Noelle
  22. I am reading so much great information on this board! I am so glad that I found it!! I am sure this has been discussed before, but should you avoid all foods in a particular family if you are having trouble with some? For example, I cannot eat most beans, but I don't seem to react from green beans or peanuts. Same with rice-sometimes I can have rice cookies...
  23. Thank you for the responses. I am finding so much good information here. Lymetoo-I had Lyme Disease too and spent 6 months on iv antibiotics. They say you never really get rid of it though. I think the antibiotics messed up my stomach more. Did you go on iv meds?
  24. Susan, can you post a link to that thread? I must be looking in the wrong place. Thanks! ~Noelle I just found it!
  25. Oops, I meant to use the word intolerance. Thank you so much for the info! It really helps to hear what other people are eating. I will have to check out Vance's Dairy Free. Most of my interolances seem to have come on after my first pregnancy (my son is 18 months now). However, looking back, I think I had more reactions than I realized (I always assumed...
