  1. I've been meaning to go have allergy testing, I had wondered the same thing, if problems with gluten, dairy etc would show up on and allergy test. I have heard there are other tests apart from the skin scratch test like where they take a finger prick and test the blood itself, sounds safer.
  2. I had women jokingly say to me "whatever you've got give it to me", like it was a virus you get over, it stunned me too. I told them as long as they took it off me they could have it. I had other people that thought I was anorexic and would talk about me behind my back, I could see them whispering and looking my way and someone actually came out and said...
  3. I don't think I've had that, but then I've only eaten fresh beets diluted in soup and I do get kidney stones so maybe in the past I've put it down to that. I have had the licorice thing though, and spagetti, I didn't digest that at all for a while there, until I realised what it was I thought I had worms.
  4. So far so good. Only had one really bad day after eating something that set me off, if this continues I might actually be able to work full time for the first time in years. It looked like I was going to end up on a disability pension at one point it got that bad. I am really tired though, still have joint pain but at least now my limbs don't feel heavy...
  5. My old doc tested me for these when I was ending up in his office twice a week with the same symptoms. Mine came back negative, but then he told me I didn't have osteo-athritis either when the specialist showed me my x-rays and they clearly showed I did. Press him to continue tests or refer you. Don't let him fob you off.
  6. Does the lady who's set you up know your gluten free? maybe she could mention it to him. I'd eat before I went though just in case. Sailing, I haven't been sailing for years, I'm jealous.
  7. I've been eating chocoate but checking the labels first. I found cadbury stuff ok, fruit and nut, and twirl. Today though I got plain chocolate from Darrel Lee, big mistake, nothing bad on the label but within 10 minutes I was really crook. Two visits to the toilet before I could even get out of the shopping centre and a hefty dose of Imodium when I got home...
  8. I just checked my bathroom products, almost all of my hair care products have hydrolised wheat protien and starch in them. My ex boyfriend used to go mad on me for sratching all the time, he said it drove him nuts . I'm not looking forward to checking my make up. Most of my moisturisers are ok except for the sorboline with vit E (I brought thinking...
  9. I started getting stomach pain etc. about a month after I had my eldest, I ended up really sick. If I do have celiac the birth was what triggered it for me.
  10. It could be anything causing it, the ink type might not react well with her skin, the tat might not be deep enough, it could be the location where skin naturally sheds more or it could be a large area of solid ink which is prone to losing ink. I have skin problems and mine stayed on fine (a little too well, am having one lasered off) I don't know if any of...
  11. Is sorboline OK to use? apparently it can be use as a shampoo/conditioner in one as well as a cleanser and moisuriser.
  12. I got told my pain was IBS, it took them two years to come to this conclussion. I don't know if the pain is gluten related yet (only just started the diet) but from what I'm hearing it's sounding familiar. My pain was so bad for the first few years that it was worse than child birth, it was worse than ovarian cysts, it was even worse than kidney stones....
  13. How soon can I expect the diet to start working? I've been on it a couple of days and so far that awful gas and pain has subsided, I don't feel like I have swallowed a brick and my anxiety has dropped, nothing else has changed though, I keep waiting for it to not work like so many other things I have tried. I cheated this morning and had some biscuits, the...
  14. I get something like that, not sure what causes it. I tried everything even the anti allergy tablets didn't work. The only think that helped was using a topical anasthetic like zylocane, it didn't clear it up but it stopped the itching and burning, I found if I could just stop scratching it improved.
  15. Personal care products? How would I find out? Would that cause me to have an itchy scalp, not flakey just itchy, some days it's driving me mad. What about washing detergent? Could there be gluten in that too? I tried changing them before because I had like a heat rash but itchy and without the heat but it didn't make a difference. I didn't think to look...
  16. I didn't have any problem eating after. I just couldn't have really hard or chewy stuff like apples and had to be careful with things being too hot or cold. I could still chew at the front so I still got my steak. I had big holes for a while where the teeth were and stitches. It was more my jaw was sore than my gums since they knocked me out and pulled all...
  17. Wow, that was quick. I'm in Australia so I don't think I need anything more than a doctors letter to state illness. I had heaps of tests done when the symptoms were at their worst so if it was something obvious like cancer it would have shown up. Where do I find out about altering my diet?
  18. My dad was recently diagnosed with celiacs but I haven't been tested. I had a stack of tests about 15 years ago and not being pleasant I have no intention of repeating them. Do I even need them? Could not eating have given a false result? I got tested for just about everything after I started getting really bad intestinal symptoms but i don't know if...
