    Was wondering if anyone had a receipe for homemade egg noodles. My family is desperately missing Chicken and Noodles over mashed potatos. Just wondering if you just replace the regular flour with some sort of gluten free flour and if so, what type is the best. I've never been good at making homemade noodles so always used Mrs. Reames boughten noodles before...

    I agree - The gluten free diet is much harder to follow than that of the diet of someone with Diabetes. My son has juvenile diabetes, he was dignosed at the age of 10 and he's 11 1/2 now. At least with diabetes, you can go out and eat meals, etc. With him we also count the carbs vs. the sugar in something. He's so active in sports, that we don't have...

    Ciglee - you aren't being childish at all! My son was just diagnosed a couple months ago and I even was mad at the Dr. for making my son have the test to determine he had this.     I could see how that could happen in my families situation. My son who is 11 was diagnosed just a few months ago...we've done really well with eliminating all gluten from his diet, although he never had any stomach problems, in fact we wouldn't know he had celiac disease but due to his juvenile diabetes, they found in a yearly blood screening.     I just wanted to update everyone on how our new lifestyle is going being gluten free for a few weeks. You know it isn't nearly as bad as what you first think it will be. I do more cooking at home than I am accustomed to, but that isn't so bad either. My son is sick of baked potatos for supper, so last night made him scalloped potato's using corn starch...

    I agree on the wheat in soy sauce - my son is 11 and his favorite BBQ restaurant, who has fries that would be ok for him to eat cuz they are fried in a seperate fryer, but they put soy sauce on their ribs and of course they use Kikoman's which has wheat - so i've read on the bottle anyway! ugh! anyway, my son doesn't have any complications from celiacs...

    Hi Becca - Just wondering how things are going with you on your type 1 diabetes. Can I ask how old you are? My son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 10.     My 11 year son has recently been diagnosed as Celiac. He has absolutely NO symptoms of Celiac disease, is growing at a normal rate, has never had any stomach problems or problems with the food that he eats.
