  1. Nick- I'm sorry for everything your friend and you have been through. I agree- he should continue with all the tests but it couldn't hurt to go gluten-free as well. I hope the outcome is good.
  2. Oh Judy- POOPY COW on Medicare!!!!!! The Beav is very very angry. Not only has the emotiquota been cut in half BUT she went to the store to get supplies to make said cookies and came home with a can of squash. Would YOU eat squash chocolate chip cookies? :greengaggingguyemoticon: Ewwww! A chicken lived for 18 months 9google...
  3. Must make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Must book ticket to London. Must book ticket to London to make bring pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to Nikki and her kittehs and chillin's. Don't you know you CANNOT post an irresistible recipe and cheap plane tickets on this thread as I become an obsessed lunatic. After looking at flights on Lufthansa I...
  4. Well, I can always count on Uncle ray to have his funny on!!!!!! Two nuns, Sister Catherine and Sister Helen, are traveling through Europe in their car. They get to Transylvania and are stopped at a traffic light. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a tiny little Dracula jumps onto the hood of the car and hisses at them through th e windshield. 'Quick...
  5. Hi Psillies! just wanted to poop in and say thanks for all the support- you guys rock! I'm doing a little better today (no psilly back yet) and hopefully, i'll find my lost mojo at some point. to all of you.
  6. I can see how it would be REALLY hard not to indulge once in awhile if you don't have a horrid reaction, but Shay's right. You could be doing damage. I am pretty sue, in hindsight, that my mom was a silent celiac- her mom had it and both of them died of a rare type of cancer at the junction of the stomach and intestines. I'm not trying to scare you, just...
  7. Uh...where to start. Well, if your mom has it then there is a 50/50 chance that you do. The genetic testing (I did mine through Prometheus) is about $400 but all that will tell you is if you have the genes. You could go back and have the antibody tests again or ask for the biopsy (for you) or you could both go gluten-free, see how you respond and have...
  8. That is such a drag- I love them. Enjoy Life has bars (I like the Caramel Apple best) that have no major allergens. They're not rice crispy treat-like but not bad.
  9. Oh Nick!!! Thank you so much! Bellini's in North Conway has great pizza! If you go to the Cape BZ's in Dennisport, between Yarmouth and Harwich, right off route 28, has the BEST gluten-free pizza I have ever had! I'm excited to hear about Marco's in the North end having gluten-free. I miss Flatbread Pizza!
  10. I think it's individual- I WILL eat something processed in the same factory but not shared equipment. I'm too sensitive.
  11. Judy  Thanks for making me laugh!
  12. Trust me- this last one was probably Judy's kitty's sister! I think next up is a snuggly, well-behaved fur baby!
  13. Thanks everyone- feel like I killed the silly!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. It definitely takes a long time to heal- your body could be getting rid of toxins (since gluten was toxic to you). I remember someone saying it took them 2 years to fully recover. There are other possibilities. Sometimes, once gluten is eliminated, you realize you are intolerant to other types of food (dairy, legumes including soy, corn). You could try...
  15. Thanks so much for posting this- I'm in MA now but used to live in Portsmouth. I would CERTAINLY drive 45 minutes for gluten-free pasta and pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. It's frustrating because celiac (and other autoimmune disorders like lupus and RA) share many same symptoms. I just wanted to back up that to truly rule out the Lyme, you should have the Igenix testing. I sincerely hope that it turns out to be NONE of these and just a fluke!
  17. Thanks for posting this list AND the disclaimer. I do well with lay's chips but not Frito's.
  18. It is helping slowly but surely!
  19. it happened to me as well and eventually got better. Hang in there- up from here!!!!
  20. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thinking of you Ptaum! Need apple toffee cake and to have ALL you guys over for tea. TOOT SWEET! Very, very sad day. My dad's cat (really my mom's but she passed away 5 years ago) had to be put to sleep today. Met my dad at the vet and stayed with her. Didn't quite realize it would be as hard as it was.
  21. That's what my doctor is using to treat mine.
  22. Todd- Please explain. As someone who has mycoplasma (bacterial) I'd like to know more!
  23. I also was diagnosed by IgG and positive response to the diet. I later found out I had one of the genes as well (HLA DQ8).
  24. Happy Sunday Psilllies! I have to apologize for my PEE in last night (I usually poop in) as I was brain dead (no nap= ) and gave absolutely NO context. Kurt was TRYING to cheer me up about me lymieness! GAH! Failed humor attempt. Judy putting the smackdown on the Q! Ouch! Patti hanging out amongst the uhhm...no longer with...
