  1. Warning: This is graphic and I'm not 100% sure that it is true. We rescued our dog Angus from Great Dog Rescue in MA. He was a rescue from TN. I got home tonight and there were two horrible emails regarding a puppy in TN that was abused and thrown yesterday from a speeding pick-up truck (I want to vomit as I write this). The shelter's webite is : Open...
  2. Sorry but I couldn't resist being a recovered Unibrower myself- I swear I MUST have Italian blood in me!
  3. Sadly- TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went with the rake handle. I bet that thing would make a darn good margarita (minus the splinters ). This is very silly:
  4. OK- that's now that is WILD!!!!!!!!!!! My name is Beverly too!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I received a bunch of samples through BzzAgent (my husband's comapny that does word of mouth marketing). I figured since it was recommended for asian inspired dishes it would definitely have soy sauce in it, but it doesn't. Yeah!
  6. It's funny that you say that as I've always said that apples and potatoes are the two best foods for calming my stomach down!
  7. Tabdegner- Welcome to gluten-FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I feel so bad for that poor woman. I knew that you could get stones in your bile duct but I didn't know that watching your fat intake could help with this. Good to know as I have been suffering bouts of nausea and diarrhea that my doctor kept telling me was a virus (a 6 week virus? C'mon!). I see my GI next week and will mention this to her. maybe it...

    ARCHIVED Omg.....

He'd probably try to mow it anyway just to get out of baking Jerry- I'm SO sorry that you had the EnerG bread encounter. It is truly frightening. See if you can find yourself some Gillian's or Chebe. Yes- it (the Chebe) will have to be cooked but it's easy. No, really I swear, I would never lie to you. It's VERY VERY manly bread I hear in Brazil...
  11. I don't mean to sound dumb- but what do you mean by gastritis? Upset stomach? Acid reflux?

    ARCHIVED Help

Welcome padu! You WILL be OK. I was supposed to go to DC back in Feb and MommaGoose and happy Girl had some great suggestions. You can post on Open Original Shared Link for recommendations. Also Open Original Shared Link has a gluten-free menu.
  13. OMG- this is horrible!!!!!!!!! I have a question- did your surgeon tell you that you needed to watch your fat intake after your gall bladder removal? Mine never said anything And the woman you're referring to had this because she DIDN"T have her gall bladder out, right?
  14. That is HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to join!
  15. OK- here's what we do best: Open Original Shared Link
  16. Viola- This is really good to know- I had no clue about that! You don't need to take any supplements if you have your gall bladder removed. It's like a "storage facility" for bile and once it's gone, your liver readjusts (USUALLY rather quickly) and produces less bile. I am DEFINITELY not advocating you have the surgery....that's up to you and your doctor...
  17. There is some relationship. In fact, myself and jaten had our gall bladders out around the same time last May. I had gall stones that they found while trying to diagnose me with celiac. I waited a year and finally had the surgery. No regrets at all! DEFINITELY get it checked out because going gluten-free won't get rid of the stones (as far as I know) and...
  18. Have two things to say: YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all! and I love www.epicurious.com Tasty stuff!
  19. Those are hysterical- your aunt Mel needs to meet my Uncle Ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. This is my favorite part of the recipe- eat out of bowl until dough is used up!  AGREED! Pooping to death=bad.
  21. That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See- now we can say "Told you so!"
  22. Geoff- I don't know about corn, but I am legume intolerant (soy, peanuts, beans). If I ate peanut butter I would feel really sick, but sometimes I can handle a little soy lechithin if I'm feeling well.
  23. I don't think you have to believe in God to pray- call me crazy (I mean, I do believe in God but not in a traditional religious way). I think of praying as sending your intentions and gratitude into the universe where we are all part of one another. I am so grateful for this board!!!!!!!!!!! I pray more people will feel better here. I'm really grateful...
  24. One of my ALL TIME faves: Open Original Shared Link IMHO, Christopher Walken can do no wrong!!!!!
  25. I hope you feel better soon Ok- here's what I ended up making and it was good. Put olive oil in a casserole dish and salmon with dill and lemon juice, gralic salt, lemon pepper, and asparagus. Did the grated potatoes on top. Baked at 400 for 20 minutes and then turned the broiler on for the potatoes (about 5 minutes). Hubby liked it and it...
