  1. I've been using the hemp shampooo and I really like it (it better be gluten-free. I read the label 100 times and don't see any gluten but it's white print on an orange bottle so it makes me dizzy!). Does anyone use their products? Which are gluten-free? Which ones do you like?
  2. I was recently told I am anemic and I'm wondering if it's pernicious anemia. I know that for the last month (after a really harsh glutening) I have been having some of the symptoms I had before I went gluten-free like the tarry stools, nausea, muscle pain and spasms, numbness and tingling and I'm wondering if if may be this. And if so, how is it traeted...
  3. I'm sorry Charley. That is such a drag. My sister still doesn't understand how one crumb can tank me for weeks. she means well, but it's not quite there. My dad (he's 76), my sis and I were driving somewhere yesterday and we stopped at McD's and i said I can't have anything here and he said, "welll, I can." I know he doesn't mean to be mean and that he...

  6. Whoa- more reasons not to mess with kids: (1) A little girl: was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher: said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl: stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher: reiterated that...

  8. I hear you!!!!!!!!! I actually called my GI but can't get in until late March. I think the last week it's been stomach flu. 10. They are so crazy cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two more jokes from my funny uncle: Kids Two little kids are in a hospital, lying on gurneys next to each other outside the operating room. The first kid leans over and asks, "What are you in here for?" The second kid says, "I'm in here to get my tonsils out, and I'm a little nervous." The first kid says, "You...
  11. I've actually had better luck at smaller places that don't have gluten-free menus and prepare your stuff fresh than big chains that have gluten-free menus. Especially when they are busy- FORGET IT!!! As far as feeling annoying about explaining your situation to the wait staff...I usually go straight to the manager and mention SEVERE Allergy. Then when...
  12. I gotta tell you...I've seen the Blue Man rock tour......our next door nieghbor's best friend Eric Gebow (sp?) is the drummer. It will blow your socks off! They are mesmerizing!
  13. Thanks all for your commenst and support. It is DEFINITELY the flu........
  14. Dessa- ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))). I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a good friend. Being angry is not irrational. Especially at a disease. I think you'll find a lot of us HATE cancer. You may even find yourself angry at your friend, and that's normal too. Let yourself feel what you're feeling. Hugs, B
  15. Oh would that it were so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the good wishes- yes, it was the Triple Clown of glutenings but this a.m. it actually feels more like stomach flu. It's so weird how the symptoms are the same bit feel TOTALLY different.

  17. OK- I'm up.Feel like poop so I'll just surf the net. Yes- paid money to see it and I have a confession...I Love Reno 911. It's so stupid but it kills me. I was literally snorting!!!!!!!!!! We were morally obligated to see it (just like South park movie, Team america and the Simpsons movie coming out this summer). I haven't seen The Departed yet but...
  18. Omg- I love that.
  19. OK- I got glutened on January 31st and then ate some chips about a week later that COULD have been cross-contaminated (not sure...Lundberg rice chips) and I still don't feel good. My gas smells like sulfur (which when my primary first suspected I had celiac said was a symptom of malabsorption). I ate out at Legal Sseafoods and ordered the gluten-free...
  20. OMG- I LOVE the va-jay-jay word. That is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was just in that woman's "position" today...ah yes...Paris. More like Actually..have you guys seen the commercial for things you can do with one finger? Open Original Shared Link It's so funny! And yes, Daniel definitely broke out of the mold. As my hubby...

  22. we have a raw cafe here called The Organic garden and it is all "live" food. There's actually a pretty big raw community in the town I live in (boy does that sound funny)! I've eaten there twice and they had a lot of gluten-free options and the food was delicious! Even the desserts. However, with that said I personally wouldn't go totally raw because...

    ARCHIVED Orthorexia

I wonder about this. I think that to some extent it's normal to worry about what we eat as it makes us sick, but if it's occupying all your time and causing you anxiety, then I think you should definitely go see someone. It shouldn't run your life (unfortuantely food allergies and intolerances have a tendency to do that).
