  3. my son is 5 months old and I want to start soilds next month however I am in conflict what i should start him on. I want him to stay gluten-free until he's two or so and I'm making my own baby food. However I don't know if I should start him on rice or fruits first. I would like your thoughts, which is easier to digest? Besides the fact that fruits are sweeter...
  4. Thanks Janet I did have a level 2 ultrasound and they checked all the things you said above; he had no problems except what I said in my orginal post. Thanks for the idea about the DS support group.
  5. I am just wondering if anyone else is having trouble gaining weight while pregnant. I am 20 weeks and have gained 4lbs. I didn't lose any weight in the beginning and I feel like I'm eating a lot of food. I'm not holding back in my eating thats for sure. My doctor isn't worried but I was just wondering if anyone else is gaining slowly? Thanks
  6. About three weeks ago I had the AFP test (or the triple screen test), which tests for spina bifida, trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome) and trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome). I only had this test done because if something is wrong I wanted to be at the same hospital as my baby and the local where I live can't handle special cases. All that to say the test came back abnormal...

  8. I am 71/2 weeks pregnant and I need some relief all this morning sickness. Lots of people have said try preggie pops. However I haven't been able to find them or if they are gluten free? Any ideas, thanks
  9. I'm not pregnant yet but would like to be in the next two months (hopefully ) and I am wondering if I can take antioxidant supplements, amino acid supplements and probiotics? THey are all gluten free and are keeping me so healthy. I'm afraid if I stop taking them all my old problems will come back but I'm not sure if I can take them while pregnant. Does...
  10. I read somewhere that celiac disease can suddenly show up if you experiance lots of stress or have something traumatic happen in your life. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? Can it lay dormant and then just show up?
  11. I got married last June, it was a really small wedding but we served lots of veggies and fruit, also some cheese, meat and crackers. It wasn't totally gluten-free and I'm kinda glad, because I was so excited, that all I ate was gluten-free cake (which turned out amazing). It will all come together, best of luck!
  12. I don't if its different for kids, but it took me about 3 months.

    ARCHIVED Michigan Doctors Help

I just wanted to say I totally understand your problem with MI doctors, I lived there for 2 1/2 years and the doctors did nothing for me. They sent me all over the place and had me doing stool samples, getting a colonoscopy and then told me all I had was IBS. They wanted to put me on a bowl relaxer and medimucil, I was so mad! All I wanted was a clear answer...
  14. Ok, so I've put on a little weight since getting married and in order to wear my bikini this summer I've been doing the South Beach diet. I have found it ok during the first 2 weeks of phase one but once I get into phase two I become frustrated. I can't eat whole grains (other than brown rice), so there goes the "healthy whole grains" idea of phase two. If...
  15. ok, I need some help. I need a good prenatal vitamin that is gluten free but I haven't found one yet. What do you all take? Thanks
  16. I love this recipe because the crust doesn't get soggy 3 cups of cooked rice (I use Jasmine rice) 2 eggs 1 cup of cheese (I use Cheddar) Mix it all together and press onto a greased 12" pizza pan. Bake at 450 for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and top as you wish. Return to oven and cook 10-12 minutes longer, then serve
  17. I just made some with Jasmine rice, but haven't baked with it yet. Does anyone know if you have to soak the rice before you grind it? I read that you should soak it 2-3 hours, then grind it with some of the water, place it in a cloth bag to drain the water. Then allow to dry before storing. Does anyone else do this?

Does anyone know if we can get a refund for celiac disease and the extra expenses? Is it true or something I heard? Thanks
  19. Does anyone know if you can make your own rice flour? Is it as simple as griding up normal rice or is it more than that? Any ideas?
  20. Ok, I don't know if I have dermatitis herpetiformis because I don't think I have gotten a good description of it. Here is what I have, I only seem to get them on my head and some times by bottom. I only get a few at a time and they start off just very painful spots. You can't see them, sometimes they get red but then they get so painful I pop them and they...
  21. I really need some help here, my husband and I want to have kids but I am scared. I was never actually diagnosised with celiac disease, the doctors ran the blood tests but not EDG. Anyway, the blood tests were negative but I had all the symptoms. The docotrs said I had IBS but I didn't believe them, to make a long story short my insurance ran out before I...
