  1. I too have a problem with knowing whether or not I have been glutened. I have knowingly eaten gluten containing food just to see what would happen and nothing did. Maybe at the most I feel tired or rundown for a couple of days but that could be due to any number of things and it's not severe where I'd actually notice it. This scares me because on my quest...

    ARCHIVED Working

At the risk of sounding stupid...what's an FMLA?
  3. I have the opposite problem. I've always been thin (about 105lbs) and now that I'm on the gluten-free diet I feel like I'm losing more weight. I don't particularly like the gluten-free breads (I never really liked bread to begin with) so I guess I eat mostly rice and salad which doesn't have a lot of calories. I even started eating two dinners to try and...

    ARCHIVED Working

I work in an office and I've been working here for about a year and a half. I had just started working here when I first was having health problems. I was throwing up at least once a week and would have to go home. Finally my boss said that if I wanted to go home I would have to get a doctors note. That was the start to finding out I have Celiac. It...
  5. I'm pretty new myself, I was just diagnosed in March 2007. At first it didn't seem so bad, I never really like bread or anything anyway. But now that I'm realizing just how serious celiac is I'm starting to get really depressed. The fact that we have to look at everything like shampoo, makeup, soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, is very overwhelming to...
  6. It's Danone peach flavoured. I read on this forum that this brand is gluten-free in Canada. Can I trust this?
  7. I was reading the ingredients of my yogurt and one of them was "transglutaminase". Isn't this what they test for to find out if you have celiac? I tried to find out if it is safe to eat but I couldn't find out it if has gluten in it or not. Can anyone shed some light on this for a newbie.
  8. I don't know a whole lot but I do know that the Lea&Perrins is only gluten free in the US. In Canada the Worchester Sauce is made with malt vinegar. I'm still trying to find a gluten free one in Canada.
  9. I'm pretty new to all of this stuff. The forum thing and the whole gluten free diet. I was just diagnosed two weeks ago and I haven't even met with the nutritionist yet. I've been noticing a lot of people asking about gluten free shampoo and lotions and makeup and things like that and what I'm wondering is...do I have to watch out for this stuff if I'm...
  10. Thanks for the tip, hopefully I'll be able to find it. Otherwise I'll just get my brother that lives in Boston to send me a case of Lea&Perrins.
  11. One thing I am having trouble finding is a gluten free Worchestershire Sauce. I know the Lea & Perrins in the US is gluten-free but not in Canada because it is made with malt vinegar. I don't even know of another company that makes it.
  12. I love American Idol...and I'm from Canada. We have Canadian Idol but it kinda sucks. I have to agree with the person who said they can't stand Melinda's cutsy big eyed astonished look. It bugs me too. I'm very surprised that Brandon got voted off last night...it should have been Sanjaya. It's kinda early to say but I think I might be rooting for Jordan...
  13. I am a very newly diagnosed celiac and I am looking for a Canadian gluten free product list. I was lucky to find one but it is from 2004 and I think it's for US products and I know some of the products are made differently in Canada. If anyone has any information I could really use it.
