  1. My iron has been low for years. My ferritin has always being 5. Now that I take iron supplements is 11 so 30 is low but it can be worse. Take a sublingual b12. I also never had diarrhea. Just excruciating pain on the left side of my upper stomach along for other random symptoms Just like you. You should be tested for celiac disease since it runs in your...
  2. I am very sorry to hear you are going through this. I had my very first neurological symptoms after taking the second shot of the Moderna. It was a very scary experience for me. That was two years ago and I am still healing. Doctors have no answers for me but experienced numbness and tingling on the face arms and Legs after the vaccine. I will never ever...
  3. Have they done an endoscopy? I know someone who had this issue and actually had esophageal cancer. I am sorry not trying to scare you but that is how the person was diagnosed. Another reason could be a swollen thyroid?
  4. I wonder if in any way iodized salt mimics gluten in any way.
  5. Very interesting info. So if you elimate iodized salt from your diet and other iodine rich foods how are you to get the iodine your thyroid needs. Just asking because my endocrinologist told me to get rid off iodized salt and kelp.for my Hastings Hashimoto's
  6. I agree with Trents. You were probably misdiagnosed. If you had celiac disease you would have known. You probably had something else.
  7. I tried taking the UltraB complex from New Roots. It is gluten free, dairy free soy free. I take their liquid B12 and can tolerate it just fine. It is sublingual so I guess that is why. Thanks
  8. Thanks. For me any time I take B complex I find I have a terrible sleep. It gives me too much energy.
  9. I have celiac and my son had issues for years. Pediatrician could not figure it out. His tests came back negative. His blood test I mean. I never did an endoscopy for him. He was skinny for years. Once I was diagnosed I tried the gluten free diet on him. His symptoms went all away. Went from getting Cs at school to As. He would also get angry and had stomach...
  10. Thank you and you have no issues with insomnia?
  11. @knitty kitty can you please list the brand of B vitamins you take? I am still looking for one that wont give me insomnia. I have tried taking them first thing in the morning.
  12. I never had genetic testing done. Just antibodies and positive endoscopy. My GI Dr told me I had celiac for sure. Maybe there was an error with your genetic testing. If the gluten-free diet has helped I would stick with it.
  13. I tried that once. Went to a restaurant with coworkers for a celebration. I thought I could handle it. Had lunch before I went and by the end of it. I felt frustrated, hungry and sad. It did not go well. I agree with you do. Those social interactions are essential.
  14. Thank you. So tough. I am still getting used to it and feel like avoiding cross contamination all together is best. Meaning I have not eaten at restaurants for more than 6 months now and not going to works Xmas party. That's still leaves me sad. Thanks Scott. So difficult. I am still grieving the loss of my worry free life.
  15. Thanks Cristina. I used to have a lactose free yogurt and still had the same effect so I believe is the casein. I will talk to my Dr about the scan. Do you consume dairy products?
  16. Yes. It has rice starch which is not great. But I have a super hard time keeping my weight on and I am currently losing weight. Waiting less than I did in my twenties. I took probiotics before, high quality one recommended by a health store person that made my face numbness and tingling returned with a revenge so I was super scared to try anything else...
  17. For Forgot to ask. Do ypu feel that taking the calcium supplements and.other supplements have helped stop the progression of the Osteopenia?
  18. Thanks so much. Very helpful. I am sorry to hear about your Osteopenia. I have been eating some of the Silk coconut yogurt but it gives me bad reflux and I wonder if it could have some gluten in it. I don't tolerate it well and only eat half a cup a day. I try to eat beans sometimes, kale almonds, sardines, I eat salmon but not the bones. I just hate having...
  19. After my diagnosis almost 2 years ago I am finding being in social situations is difficult as almost all human interactions happen around food. I find it incredibly difficult to eat out eventhough I want to. I end up getting sick most of the time. Eating with relatives or friends is very difficult as well. I got sick last year for 3 weeks after eating at...
  20. Hi, For those whole follow an AIP or Paleo diet. What do you do for calcium intake. I know being celiac puts you at extra risk of having osteoporosis. I cannot tolerate any diary substitutes and have read calcium supplements might do more harm than good and are not absorbed by the body. I have tried to have a bit of dairy and my neurological symptoms...
  21. Hi Keith, You really need to triple check your diet. Check your medications. What about that anti diaharia medication your are taking. I was seeing a neurologist for some issues related to my celiac and she suggested I eliminated rice and it has made a difference. You would also need a paleo style diet. Highly nutrition food every day. There is an...
  22. I find exercise causes me to have insomnia. I have exercise intolerance. Try maybe cutting down on exercise and see what happens for the sleep issue. Also eating a good variety of vegetables especially cruciferous vegetables has help with insomnia. Minimum of 5 cups of vegetables in a day. Doing green smoothies and soups easy to digest and highly nutritious...
  23. I have blurred vision as well. Trying to fix it as well. I find that adding natural curcuma (not the spice as I react to it )has helped me have clear vision the next day. Curcuma is powerful antiflamatory.
  24. Yes. She told me it was because of the celiac. I am not sure though if she had any other autoimmune diseases which can also cause issues when pregnant. So it is not an easy answer. I know too other celias have been able to conceive and carry a pregnancy to term. Maybe try and work on eating a healthy diet such a Paleo diet and see if you have any nutritional...
  25. I am sorry for your loss. My dietician had celiac and suffered multiple miscarriages.
