  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I would suggest going to a neurologist for any of these problems. You have to find out whether these problems are neurological in nature of caused by celiac. Ed in MD
  3. The friers supposed to be dedicated, but in practice that's not always the case. It all depends on the individual restraunts. There is always a chance of cross contanimation. Eat at your own risk. Ed in MD
  4. I tend to be one of those "silent" celiacs. Currently the only noticeable symptoms I get are diahrrea and gas, which can show up as quickly as twenty minutes after eating gluten. Also over time I will lose weight -- quite a bit of it. Ed in MD
  5. For something really quick I have cold cereal such as Rice chex (now gluten gree) or Van's gluten-free waffles. Ed in MD
  6. Do you have any other food intolerances, such as dairy?
  7. I believe you either have celiac or gluten intererance, but going om the gluten-free diet probably caused a false negative result. You can either go on the gluten diet for a few months in hopes of a positive test result or go gluten-free, forget about about testing, a feel a lot better. Ed in MD
  8. It's been rather strange with me. I am famous for suddenly falling asleep at the strangest moments, and yet I have frequent bouts of insomnia. When I am overcome with fatigue it seems that I am suddenly assaulted by it, including a nice headache that only closing my eyes will alleve. Caffeine and enforced activity can delay it somewhat, only pushing back...
  9. Their honey rice cereal is gluten free, but the others are most definitely not because of the oat flour, which is a magnet for cross contamination. Ed in MD

    ARCHIVED Dh Pics

Some of that looks a lot like the red bumps I have on my back. I always suspected it may be a very mild case of DH, though I was never tested for it. Ed in MD
  11. I don't know how old your boyfriend is, but back when I was in my 20s I was 125 pounds. I weighed 63 when I was in the sixth grade, about 75 in junior high, began college at 95 lbs, graduating at 115. I am now 160 pounds and in my 50s. You seemed to have eliminated many of the foods I would have suggested. Has he been tested for other allergies? While...
  12. In my case I would most definitelty not be tested. There is too much I have to go through, and too much agony just to get what is most likely nothing better than an inconclusive result. I was diagnosed years before modern testing came out, and am not about to go through all that for nothing. Ed in MD
  13. oops...sorry....we are having transmission problems...
  14. All I can tell you is that I was colicky as a baby also. Actually I had the classic symptoms from the very beginning, including a distended stomach. The family doctor just happened to hear of celiac (This was way back in the 50s) and suggested that my parents try the diet on me. And it happened to work. It's interesting that you mentioned your daughter...
  15. I haven't had problems with Amy's either. Could it be something else that can be causing the problems? Ed in MD
