  5. Is there anything out there (a good book or website) that can help me to explain what Celiac is like to live with to my family? They just don't seem to get how tough it can be. If I get tired or weak or need a break thay get very impatient and just don't seem to get it! Thanks in advance for any input!
  6. I have been gluten free for a while. I really miss the good tasting foods especially now that it is Summer. I just want to go and have a good burger and a beer or something like that! Anyway, I am still getting diarrhea pretty often and I don't know how to deal with it in a public restroom anymore. I have posted about this topic before, but I had another...

  10. Hello everyone. Can anyone help me with getting on the elimination diet? I am unable to get my insurance company to pay for a nutritionist, and I need to go on the elimination diet. 11. I don't know if I a glutening again or if I ate some bad food, stomach virus. or what. Since i woke up I have had horrible, severely urgent diarrhea and stomach cramps. It literally feels like I am on fire! I can't take it anymore. I simply must find a better, more helpful doctor soon!
  12. Thanks everyone. I'm doing a little better. There have been a couple days here and there when my appetite is back and I am hungry- that hasn't happened in ages. On those days I eat a little bit more. Not a ton of food, just a little more, and I tend to get very bloated and sick forn that tiny bit of extra food. It's annoyinh, I just have to stick to...

  14. I have had my blood sugar checked and it was okay, but the doctor didn't check it today. He did however bring it uo and said to try to eat 4 times a day to keep the blood sugar up just in case, but that he didn't think it was that.
  15. I have been dealing with memory loss and dizzy spells/ brain fog for months now. Also, I have been dealing with exhaustion. But, yesterday I came dangerously close to passing out in my classroom at work. First it felt like the ground was moving under me and tilting me back and forth and side to side. Then I got weaker and dizzier. Then, I statred to not...
  16. Hello all. I was terribly sick in the middle of the night! Yesterday afternoon I found myself starving hungry! So with my sandwich, I tried something new. I had a few peanuts. Aren't they gluten-free or no??? The nutritionist has told me to have peanut butter on toast at times and I have with no problem, so I figured peanuts must be okay if penut butter...
  17. This may be a stupid question, but if I was to contact a company and ask about if their product is made in the same factory with other products that do contain gluten, what exactly do I ask them? How do I word it? Is there someone specific I should ask for? I just am imagining talking to someone at a factory and them sayng "I don't understand? What are...

  20. I know it can take months to get better after starting the gluten free diet and I know that I could be getting glutened by accident either from hidden gluten or form CC, but it just seems to be taking soooo long to feel better and I am finding it so tough to be patient. Have others had that experience when they first went gluten free? How did you cope and...
  21. It definitely is frustrating and I certainly am making all efforts to eat healthy food and avoid gluten. I have noticed that diary seems to upset my stomach and so I have been avoiding it. Maybe it was the pretzels or risotto, but I have eaten them on other days without a problem. What might be the best way to find other possible food intolerances I could...
  22. I have been on the gluten-free diet for about 3-4 weeks now, I think. Also, I used a George Foreman grill in the kitchen which I always clean after each use. However, I am glad to have learned about the outside charcoal grills and contamination that it can cause. Now I will be prepared and able to head off a future problem when I start grilling outdoors...
  23. WHOOPS! SO SORRY!!!!! I was trying to quote and respond and instead it seems I quoted TWICE without a response! I did cook the chicken on my grill at home and I made the risotto at home. I seal the meal in a tupperware and I heated i tin the microwave. The only way I may have come in to contact with the pizza or cake is by helping clean up the plates...
