  1. Karen, I have celiac disease and I am also dairy intolerant. After 4 months of being on the gluten free diet I was still having "permenant " diarrhea. Nothing seemed to want to stay in my system for a long period of time. Sometimes the food I ate was almost instantly out. It was awful. I was weak, tired, annoyed, underweight, and very frustrated. I...
  2. I get sick after I walk through fields containing grains that celiacs cannot have. I must injest/inhale some of the plant or something without noticing. Once I was so sick I could barely stand up. I have to walk though these fields once in a while for my work. (I can't exactley hold my breath beacuse I have to walk quite a distance and the plants are sometimes...
  3. I can't see why not unless you're anemic or have some other nutrient absorption problems.
  4. I've always been thin but when I got really sick with celiac disease I lost 10-15 pounds (depending on the day) and I can't gain it back. People frequently comment on how I look too thin. It's really annoying. I want to gain weight but I can't.
  5. This website says they are Open Original Shared Link but when I eat them I get sick I am super sensitive to gluten so it's probably cross contamination or something (like the whole lays issue). I'd be careful. -Carrie
  6. Hey, I am 23 years old and from Canada. I was diagnosed this past winter (2004) with a combined biopsy and blood test. I have been on the gluten free diet since the day of the biopsy! I am also lactose/dairy intolerant and have also been trying to be on a dairy free diet as well. -Carrie
  7. I defininately reacted to the Neutrogena Sunblock Lotion, SPF 45. I know that I've reacted to it before but I've blamed it on other things. I didn't relize that the small amount of suncreen that I got into my mouth could cause such a reaction but it did! Has anyone else reacted to this sunscreen?
  8. I did some research and the Neutrogena Sunblock Lotion, SPF 45 has Oat Extract. I used it and I think I am currently reacting to it. Just a warning. This is where I got my info. Open Original Shared Link
  9. I've been on the diet for about 4 months. The only thing that has improved is that I have more energy...... but everything else hasn't changed one bit.
  10. Thanks for the info on Minute Maid raeofsun..... I guess we can't trust anything by them but their 100% juices (Or until the end of the year, when they know more about their products). -Carrie
  11. I was at Swiss Chalet the other day and they had a celiac, gluten free menu! I actually got to keep the menu! It was great! Swiss Chalet is the only restaurant that I know that has a gluten-free menu in Canada (Other than the fast food chains like Wendy's, Burger King, and MacDonald's) Has anyone else been to restaurants in Canada that offer...
  12. That's odd... That Heniz gluten-free list doesn't match up with this list: Open Original Shared Link which was updated in February 2004 I'm just worried because I eat some of the products on this list that aren't on the list that they gave you. Heinz GLUTEN FREE PRODUCT LIST Bean Products Original beans in tomato sauce...
  13. Hi, I have Celiac Disease and have been on the gluten-free diet since March (That's when I found out). Yesterday I got really sick and the only thing different I had was lemonade (I know it wasn't anything else I had because I have been eating the other foods with no problem for awhile now). Anyway, I came across this website: Open Original...
