  1. Oops! You are totally right! Thanks! I guess I will have to look into supplements in any case... My want to "do laundry" has been much improved since going gluten-free but I still notice days where I am feeling lazy in that department or feeling especially pouty & irritable again.
  2. I just read this little blurb on the DFWceliac.org site but there was no story to go along with it... Did you know that most Celiacs have a hormone imbalance that plays havoc with your body that must be treated to restore your health and well being? This usually includes an inadequate amount of Progesterone which must be supplemented with Natural Progesterone...
  3. I absolutely noticed a change within a few days of changing my diet! I enjoy "doing the laundry" much much more now! Glad to know I am not the only one who had this problem!
  4. Ok, these are the body products I use. Does anyone see ANYTHING on here that might be a gluten product? The Body Shop is no help & won't assure me that anything they make is "gluten-free" for legal reasons! Anything you can point out would be a huge help since I am still new @ this. Thanks you guys! Pink Grapefruit Puree Body Lotion Water...
  5. I take the Jarrodolphius brand everyday. Didn't know there could be gluten in it!!!! Does anyone know if that brand is safe?
  6. Right now all I am eating is fruit, veggies, & protiens. Occasionally I will have a Coke but that is it. I had stopped working out until I kinda got a better handle on this diet thing but I am planning on starting again. I am trying to be patient but the weight is slowly creeping upwards still. Maybe exercise is the answer?
  7. Ok, first off let me say I am not a confirmed celiac. I have a wheat allergy & I am currently undergoing the testing for celiac even though the allergist says it makes no difference I have the same symptoms & rules to follow. Anyways, I have been gluten-free for almost 2 weeks now. I feel better, I look better, & my waist & facial swelling...
  8. Ok, so I spoke to an allergist finally & basically having a wheat allergy is the same as celiac in that I should not eat any gluten period. He said that just because I am not allergic to it doesn't mean I won't get a response from is b/c they are all so similar. I am supposed to make an appointment to go in to see him but all he is going to do is encourage...
  9. So should I go & see an allergist about this? The not eating gluten has really helped alot but if its just an allergy shouldn't there be a shot or something to make it go away like grass or pollen?
  10. Ok, so the more I read on here, the more I see how many tests & such everyone on here has had to confirm their celiac. All I had was a blood test that said I have a Class II allergy to wheat. The doctor told me that I had celiac & sent me on my way with 2 pages basically saying don't eat wheat ever again. Now, I also don't have near the symptoms...
  11. OMG yea!!!!!!! I am newly diagnosed & I LOVE this site but i didn't think there was anyone on here from the Dallas area!!!! I am from Garland so all of these places are right around me. I too found the dfwceliac.org website mucho helpful! Please let me know any other restaraunts you try that are gluten-free!
  12. I definitely can relate! This is my 4th day gluten-free & only the 6th day since I was diagnosed. I think I am starting to enter the "grieving period" & it sucks. I am very fine with the cooking @ home & eating only gluten-free whole foods but the thought of having to go into restaraunts & not know what can hurt me & having to screen...
  13. It funny that you mention that... I didnt really realize it until yesterday but this whole thing has kinda of depressed me. Its more anger though.... Anger that i have gone through years & years of the "different doctor, different opinion" game & in the end it was something this simple. Not simple to fix but all it was is an allergy! And sadness that...
  14. Thanks very much happygirl for the book suggestion, i will definitely read that! And thanks for the Celiac thing... When the doctor told me what i had i had to ask him how to spell it!!! lcbannon- I am 24 years old, work full-time & am getting my Bachelor's Degree @ night. I am very intersted in leading a gluten-free lifestyle but it will be VERY...
  15. Thank you very much Lisa! I am feeling a little better than I was yesterday already. There is some very helpful information on here that makes this all seem not so bad...
  16. Hello All! Just wanted to say hi & get a little bit of feed back if I may. I was diagnosed this past Friday (yea! ) as having Celiac's Disease & also a severe allergy to Dust Mites (but that's another topic entirely). For YEARS i have gone to allergist after allergist who told me nothing was wrong with me & long story short, I made my way...
