  1. Thank you for clearing that up Lauren!
  2. I have a wheat allergy that gives me all of the classic celiac symptoms you mentioned including D & C but I do not test positive for celiac disease. So I only have the allergy. It is just as important to stay away from gluten with an allergy as with celiac with the small bonus that I will not (according to my allergist) suffer the same long term health...
  3. I eat @ Outback constantly & also eat the Alice Springs Chicken. All I was ever told was don't eat the Honey Mustard Sauce b/c sometimes it comes from different vendors. But again, I am assuming this is a location specific problem. The mushrooms are my favorite part so I hope they don't start using that seasoned butter on the mushrooms everywhere!!!
  4. When I called here in the US, I was told the carmel sauce contained gluten also. Maybe a mistake? I have been avoiding the Carmel Macchiato so if this is incorrect I would REALLY like to start drinking it again!
  5. I recently found out I can use my FSA or HSA card to pay for acupuncture treatments so I will be doing so very soon. I had received acupuncture before for migraines & it worked wonders. Hopefully this will help with some of my other allergy issues & my gut issues. I am glad to see others who have found this helpful!
  6. I had posted a topic similar to this titled Generic Z-Pak you might want to look at. I ALWAYS take a name brand Z-Pak when I need antibiotics as I have never had a reaction. But they were out & so I got the Pfizer generic Z-Pak & reacted instantly. I took it back, got the name brand from another pharm & was fine. But both pharms insisted the exact...
  7. That is great to hear! I am going on RC to the Bahamas in September & have been very nervous as this will be my first trip since gluten-free. Thanks for the info!
  8. I CONSTANTLY crave fried foods! I actually broke my gluten-free diet 2 days ago & ate onion rings b/c I was craving them sooo bad. I never intend to go back to eating gluten full-time but every couple of months I plan to eat a little bit of something just to kill the cravings for a bit. I am sure even the little bit is not healthy but I am sure it is...
  9. I got the Pharm to give me the name brand Z-Pak to try & see if it is different. If not I am going to call & definitely get an alternative. Thanks Ya'll! You have been most helpful!
  10. The generic Pfizer version Azythromyacin (sp?). The pharm told me that the generic & the name brand have all the same ingredients but my stomach is calling him a LIAR!!! I am online trying to find a compounding pharmacy for future use. I am not going through this again!
  11. Does anyone know if this is gluten-free? I have never taken the generic but that was all they had in stock @ CVS. The Pharmacist said they were gluten-free but I took it about an hour ago & I am DYING!!!! I can't remeber the last time I was this sick! Also, I am allergic to the -cillin family but the name brand Z-Pak is fine for me. Could this possibly...
  12. That's odd... Since i went gluten-free I have lost 12 lbs with little effort whatsoever. I eat alot of fruit, potatoes & rice @ least once a day, & protien 3x's a day to keep me full. I include 2-3 small snacks also (pudding cup, fruit, cheese stick, gluten-free pretzels, etc) b/c I am a boredom eater & work is SUPER boring! Dunno if this...
  13. So here is my input for something a little different... I have a wheat allergy. It has been "medically confirmed" that i do not have celiac. But I post on this board & talk to some people in the Dallas Area celiac group as they are much more in tune with my experiences than others you will find on general allergy boards. That being said, I have no...
  14. I have smoked since the age of 15 & I am 24. I didn
  15. I do indeed have Wheat Allergies! And I actually do not have "confirmed" celiac but whatever. I will try the benadryl today & see if it helps. I normally take it if I accidentally eat one of my other food allergies & yes I do have an Epi-Pen as I have had an anaphylaxis reaction before. Just really hate to think about using b/c I never have before...
  16. Ok, so this is my first serious accidental glutening & I am feeling horrible! Boyf & I had a quick dinner last night (we both get home really late @ night so usually we have seperate dinners) from a place we always eat @ & apparently something got into the sauce that should not have been there! About
  17. That is a great article! My family doctor would find this interesting. I think I should start taking more B12.
  18. Sorry to reply so late! I was on vacay @ the lake... I am 24 & have never been pregnant. Therefore my gyno said no IUD b/c it would scar my uterus & be hard to get pregnant afterwards. Is this true? Has nayone had an IUD before 1st pregnancy & still had an "easy" time getting pregnant? If so, I am SOOOOOOOO getting an IUD! I am allergic to condoms...
  19. My allergist told me specifically to carry around Benadryl brand pills & the quick dissolve strips for my seafood allergies. She is well aware of my wheat allergy has been very good about making sure all of my allergy needs are covered when perscribing something. I have also never had any problems taking them either. So I would assume they are gluten...
  20. I quit taking the pill & started my gluten-free diet the same month & I dropped 10 lbs. I am not sure which helped more but I do notice I am not nearly as bloated feeling around my period as I was before. It is a trade off though as I take the pill for severe PMS related symptoms & those are all back with a vengance!!! So it is just a personal...
  21. I always thought i had a problem with MSG but now I am not sure. I am about to try eating it again now that I have been wheat free. But I do know many other people who are unable to eat MSG & no food allergies or digestive issues what so ever. I actually posted a topic similar to this a few weeks ago if you would like to read the responses on that post...
  22. No. I am wheat allergy positive but not celiac positve. They have basically the same symptoms but nothing else is the same. Someone who has been on this board longer can probably be more specific but that is the general idea.
  23. I have lost 10 lbs since going gluten-free. And I have gone down 1 pants size. My goal was to start back to working out July 1st so we will see how it goies after that. I have about 20 more lbs to lose.
  24. Had a Skin Test with my Allergist today in response to the allergies that showed up on my blood test. After doing the skin test turns out I am allergic to around 12-15 environmental allergies in addition to my food allergies. She said she does not normally recommend Allergy Shots but that they would be very beneficial for me. Now I come from a very homeopathic...
  25. I found it @ Tom Thumb. Dunno if it is a national chain but they are here in TX.
