  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I was flying SAS from Sweden to the US recently. Two weeks in advance I ordered my special meal, vegetarian gluten-free (I eat meat, but as I am allergic to all fish&seafood I have to stick to the vegetarian meal when traveling). I asked specifically if this was a combination they couldn
  3. After two weeks gluten-free my stomach was flat, it started behaving more like a normal stomach and I started feeling a little bit better. I have brought lunch to work these days to be completely sure I didn't eat any gluten by accident. Today one of my colleagues suggested a lunch at a restaurant. I believe I did everything right....still it didn't work...
  4. Hi friends, just a short update! I have now been gluten-free for ten days and...yes, there really are some changes. My stomach is not that swollen anymore (e.g. I have stopped looking 5-6 months pregnant). Normal intestine reflexes are developing, so when I eat I also need to go to the bathroom afterwards. No sign of diarrhea, still a tendency towards constipation...
  5. We are planning om visiting Long Island, then go up the Hudson, Niagara falls and a few days in Toronto. Then heading back to NY thru Pennsylvania.
  6. Hi! Me and my husband are going to New York state and Toronto on vacation. We are now looking for gluten free accommodations, preferably B&B. Does anybody know any good B&B website or have any recommendations for lodging?
  7. Dear celiac friends, I've been waiting for a week to get the results of my blood work. Today it finally arrived! Tissue transglutaminase <1 (ref.range <7) S-Gliadin IgA 1.2 (ref.range <7) My doctor claims it is normal, but I am worried by the fact that I do have Gliadin IgA-antibodies at all, as I have understood that they are less...
  8. Just un update: spent 4 days at a conference in Germany and obviously ate too much of something my stomach couldn
  9. Currently just testing, as I am waiting for my blood work to be done.... If the blood work is negative I am still going to try going gluten-free and see if my vitamin and mineral deficiency improves. Actually I had both vegetables and meat with both meals (more veggies than pasta). My stomach stopped working despite this. When I try to go thru what we...
  10. I realized that I have better keep a food diary, just to keep track of what might upset my stomach and what doesn
  11. There is also a lot of good information on Open Original Shared Link . I can also recommend Mary Shomon
  12. Oh, let me join you all in this! I have not been diagnosed yet (did the blood work Tuesday this week), but I suspect celiac disease very strongly. So far: *6 toe fractures (thank God, not all at the same time). Took forever to heal, especially the one in the big toe. * Crashed one rib when I had the flu and coughed. Doctor said it wasn't...
  13. Thanks Nancym! ;-) (I have obviously been in the medtech business for far too long now, I don
  14. Hi all, I spent a few hours at the university library the other day and found some articles I guess more people than I myself is interested in. They might come in handy when it comes to convincing some doctors that blood tests aren
  15. Seems I am on the right track! Just found out thru a relative that my mother (who I don
  16. Thanks Grey, it is really nice to know that there are other people with the same kind of symptoms...It kind of makes life a little bit easier to know that you are not alone! :-) I do feel like a hypochondriac, but I also know realize that the chain of symptoms does make sense if you consider an auto-immune attack on the whole body. I am happy the blood...
  17. I realize that apparently it is easier to find a good celiac/gluten intolerance doctor in the USA than in Sweden (not to mention using Enterolab...I don
  18. I think I had better start a food diary while waiting on the lab results. Perhaps there is also a connection to my migraine? Since I found my way here I realize that there are sooo many symptoms for celiac disease. I wonder if perhaps celiac is the answer to everything that Synthroid has not been able to solve. So what do you think....? * Hypothyreosis...
  19. Hi all and thanks for answers and support! Just came back from the doctor (the one who withdraw the B12 and zinc substitution). My B12 has sunk from 380 to 280 in two months and zinc from 22 to 14. So now he has sent me for the whole celiac panel and we will be getting those result next week. I am pretty happy despite the results, as I have been claiming...
  20. Hi again, no, the whole celiac panel was not done (I realize that now after reading a lot on this forum). And obviously my doctor does not trust it anyway, as he still suspects celiac disease. I am goign back to the doctor tomorrow morning, and then we

  22. It is a little bit easier in Finland than in Sweden. Seems that more people in Finland are gluten intolerant, which means a lot of restaurants and caf
