I was always freezing cold growing up and the next day that I went on a gluten-free diet I became warm, kinda strange. There are so many different problems with Celiac (the symptoms). My wife has a thyroid problem and she is always cold but I doubt she has Celiac. I hope everybody gets warm.

Thanks everybody. I will try to add some of these foods to my breakfast in about a couple of weeks or so. I have another box of Enviro Kids and I need to finish that off first.

Since I was diagnosed about three years ago with Celiac Disease I have been eating Enviro Kids gluten free cereal. Before I was diagnosed I ate Total and Kashi Go Lean. I am about 10 pounds overweight and I would like to lose some weight. I would like to eat something healthy for breakfast because the Enviro Kids cereal is just calories and sugar. I also...

ARCHIVED Riceflour
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks, I'm not really sure about that but I guess it is since it said Maspeth, LI. I think they would be required to say if it was because of the FDA standards, hopefully everything is fine. -
Is riceflour gluten free? I think it is but I am not sure. Yesterday I had some Korean ricecakes and they listed riceflour as an ingredient. They were really good but I was a little concerned. The company was Jinga in Maspeth, NY I believe. That is on Long Island.

Lawrence replied to Joni63's topic in Publications & Publicity
Well then I guess that it is good to here that there is more than one pill being worked on. Yes, you are right, the smart thing to do is to talk to your doctor before talking any new medications, especially when it pertains to allergies. -

Here is a list of places within ten miles of where I live that you can buy the new pill: Open Original Shared Link In the Mrs. Green's add it says it is not FDA approved yet but I would give it a try. I'm kind of surprised most people are so reluctant to even try it. I would not go off the diet 100% but I would at least have one day a week where I would take... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Soy Sauces
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks everyone for your replies. I was able to find La Choy over at my local Super Stop&Shop. I guess I was just looking too hard. I thought the health food stores would have something but I guess they don't. Also I wanted Kari Out because it seems to me to be the ultimate gluten free soy sauce but I guess La Choy will do. -

Can you get my the address of the C Town store that you go to so I can go there too? I am sure there is more than one C Town in Astoria. I am not familiar with Queens but I know where Astoria is. It is not too far. If I go I guess I will buy many especially if the bottles are small. Thanks for letting me know there is one in Astoria. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Soy Sauces
Lawrence posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hello Everyone, This afternoon I tried looking for some gluten free soy sauce and I could not find any. I tried calling Trader Joe's, Mrs. Green's, and Whole Foods. Whole Food's said that they had a substitute called Amino's or something but not the San-J that they said they had on their list. Mrs. Green's said that they had wheat free but not... -
ARCHIVED Lip Balm
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I called up and they said that they were not 100% sure. They have a gluten free list and a list for people with Celiac to avoid but it did not appear on either. I have not had any negative reactions from using it. I was never very sensitive in the first place so I can not make a claim for those who are really sensitive. What is wrong with paraben and the... -

After posting the message I found the product on their website and some contact info. I'll e-mail them and see what they say. Thanks. -
The other night I bought some Chap Block Lip Balm from my local CVS store and I heard that some cosmetic products can contain gluten. Here are the Active ingredients: Padimate and Petrolatum the first one is a sunscreen and the second is a skin protectant. Do those ingredients contain gluten? I don't hink they do but I am not sure. The inactive ingredients...

Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies. Good to here we all agree that it is gluten free. BTW I have heard of Kari Out but I can never find it. Oh well I guess I can just ask for this one or Kari Out now. -
Hello All, I was looking at a package of soy sauce from a Chinese restaurant in NYS and I thought that the soy sauce might be gluten free. The ingredients on the package are: water, salt, vegetable protein, corn syrup, caramel color, 1/10 of 1% sodium benzoate. It is by W.Y. INDUSTRIES, INC 2500 Secaucus RD, North Bergen, NJ, 07047 www.wyindustries...

Here is the response from Bailey's: Q 4. I am allergic to Gluten/Egg/Lactose/Nuts. Does Baileys contain Gluten/Egg/Lactose/Nuts A. Gluten: Please be advised that the whiskey used in Baileys is manufactured by fermenting grain, which contains gluten. Grand Marnier and Bailey's Irish cream are gluten free. I just looked up Grand Marnier and on the FAQ section of their website it says they are gluten-free. I haven't tried Bailey's after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease but it is supposedly ok according to some people around here and a webite or two.

ARCHIVED Confused About Some Alcohols
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yeah hez, most ice creams are safe I have found out. I'm not sure but I would say 30% aren't. I tried looking up TCBY and Friendlys but I didn't see anything on their sites. As far as Carvel, some of their products are ok and some are not. Ravenwoodglass, yes I have heard some people are reacting to distilled liquores while others aren't. I was trying... -
ARCHIVED Confused About Some Alcohols
Lawrence replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Murph, I didn't see the fine print on the ice cream because we were at a restaurant that had a gluten free menu. At the time I didn't know ice cream could be bad for me because I was diagnosed with it a week or so earlier. But so then I guess I can have a Singapore Sling? BTW now I am very careful about ice cream and even more careful about alcohols. -

Does anyone know if Anisette is ok? What about Lemoncello, Strega, and Di Saronno? I'm asking because I got sick from Hiram Walker Anisette once but not too badly. Also a week after my 21st birthday I had two Martinis and I got really sick. It says here that Martinis are ok: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=271&p_catid=12&sid=91hH9H1kK...
