  1. Oh my that is a lot of possibilities. I am not sure how you cut out rice along with everything I have already cut out and still eat. If anybody can tell me, I would be willing to try it. We just found out we can go to Stanford though so that is exciting.
  2. I am already off dairy, soy, corn, eggs, gluten, citrus, nuts, and beans. Total elimination of the corn is new as of Monday, prior to that I was only off big corn ie. popcorn, corn chips and tried to stay away from corn syrup. I am not sure where else to go on the elimination diet at this point.
  3. She is exclusively breastfeed and I have been gluten-free for about 4 months now. It seemed to correct the problem at first, then the bm issues returned. I realized I was eating gluten and cut it out but the bm has never returned to normal.
  4. My dr. is a G/I specialist but I have little faith in him. He flat out states that a child under the age of 8 months can't have celiac. We all know that is not true but try to get a dr. to change their mind. We have pretty much decided that we will get a second opinion and if they agree that scoping is the way to go then we will probably do that. I don...
  5. So the G/I has decided that he wants to scope my 6 month old to find out what is going on. She is having green mucusy bowel movements. He says he is looking for damaged villi but not for celiac cause she is to little for that. My question is, has anyone had a baby this young scoped? It sounds pretty invasive and I really don't want to go that route. ...
  6. I would love to know what your daughters issues are. We are in the same boat. Rebecca began having issues about 4 months ago and is now 6 months (today actually). She is exclusively breastfeed and I have removed Gluten Dairy Eggs (starting to add these back in when cooked in something like bread) Soy Nuts Citrus Beans Brocolli Corn (just took...
  7. My doctor gave us VSL #3 to use with my daughter. You can get it over the counter. I can't say that it really helped any and she refuses to take it so we dont worry about it. It comes as a powder and you mix it with any liquid. Sarah
  8. What is amaranth flour and is there a common substitute? I hate to buy another flour. Thanks
  9. Has anybody made these with rice milk instead?
  10. I am looking for a good bagel recipe. It needs to be gluten free and if possible dairy free. I can use rice milk so if somebody has a recipe that would allow that that would be great. Thank you so much. Sarah
  11. I am talking about a nursing baby and yes soy has been out for 3 months now. We also eliminated dairy, eggs, nuts, citrus, beans and most corn.
  12. I am so glad you got good results. We went to see the G/I today and really did not get anywhere. Rebecca is not loosing weight and has dropped to the 1% for weight. He is doing RAS testing and wants me to supplement but I don't know what to do. I am trying to get into Stanford now. Sarah
  13. We suspect Celiac with my little one because of the green mucus stools. When I first went gluten-free they went away but are back now and can't seem to get rid of them so I don't know if we have found all of the problem. I am also off all dairy. Sarah
  14. What is Lorka bread?
  15. I just got Robbie some rice cakes. I got the chocolate ones for a treat and he seems to love those. He is also into raisins and he likes the tortillas I make. Cheese is huge, yogurt, apple slices, grapes. We have not gone the specialty route at all cause it is so new. Oh, he likes Envirokids Gorilla Munch cereal as a snack and the Envirokidz Organic...
  16. Thanks for the advice. I tried the flourless ones but the were too dry for my husband who is having a hard time with the gluten free thing.
  17. I want to convert a peaunt butter cookie recipe to gluten free. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup all purpose flour. Does anyone know what I would use instead? Also is there a general rule or does it depend on what I am making. I am new to this gluten thing and still trying to figure it all out. Thanks for the help. Sarah
  18. Thank you both so much for the advice. I have seen a lactation consultant and she does not think it is a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance but I did think of that. She tested my breastmilk and at the beginning of a feeding it has more fat than most formulas on the market. I have stopped eating the chips so will see if that helps. I did notice that Rice...
  19. I saw that recipe for bread and thought it sounded good. Do you substitute the same amount of brown rice flour as it calls for gluten free flour and the same amount of sourgham as garfava flour? I would like to try to make it. Thank you for the advice. I will definately try to not replace old favorites with new ones. Luckily I found a tortilla recipe...
  20. I have decided to take my entire house gluten free. I worry that the cc to my daughter is too great and also question whether my 3 year old might be gluten intolerant. My concern is how do change a 3 year old who is use to breads, pasta's ect. over to a gluten free lifestyle? Also, snack ideas would be great. This is going to be hard for him I suspect...
  21. Here is my tortilla recipe. 1/4 cup tapioca flour 1/4 cup potato flour 1/4 cup white rice flour 1/4 cup brown rice flour 1/4 cup potato starch 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons xantham gum 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/2 tablespoons oil 1/2 cup water. Mix together, I usually need to add more water until it is moist but not sticky. Let sit for...
  22. I am struggling with the same type of issue. We went to the dr. yesterday and he said it was colic, and claimed that the green mucus poop is unrelated to it. I am not sure why he would assume that but he has. We are in the process of eliminating all gluten from my life so we will see if it gets better. I wish you the best of luck. Sarah
  23. I would love to go with you to the next meeting Janel. Do you know how you get into Stanford? I don't have the items that you mentioned but will definately get them. We have gone gluten free with all pasta's so I will just replace the colander and buy spoons for me. One thing I am wondering about is the waffle maker. It has been gluten free as long as...
  24. Ok I will try that because I have been eating them quite a bit. How do you find out about the cross contamination issues?
