ARCHIVED Dairy Free Scd -- Is It Possible?
Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Lately i've been wondering if going on the SCD may help allivate some of my weird bowel issues lately-- such as incomplete digestion. I'm already GFCFSF I just got the book, Breaking the vicious cycle from the library and the "yogurt making" seems to be a big part of SCD. The problem is that I can't have dairy -- Casein intolerance. So how am i... -
ARCHIVED Undigested Rice, Is This Normal?
Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Normally i don't eat a lot of boiled brown rice, but lately i have. This is pretty gross, but when i go to the bathroom it seems like my entire stool is very soft and is composed of rice (like you can literally see the grains) and a light yellow brown in color. I know i cook the rice properly because i usually leave it boiling for more than an hour... -

It's interesting that you brought this up, i'm going to europe (London, paris, vienna, and budapest) for three weeks in July with a group from my school. I'm probably taking at least a case of larabars with me, because we will walking around all day and i'll need some kind of portable food for when i get hungry (i also get low blood sugar, and have to eat... -
ARCHIVED Need Breakfast Ideas -- Gfcfsf
Greeneyes4950 replied to Greeneyes4950's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've actually been on your blog, i found it when i googled gfcfsf! I've been gfcfsf for about a year since diagnosis, and i'm still getting used to it. I have to say that you are very creative in coming up with variations of "normal foods" -- your kids are quite lucky! To everyone else -- Thanks for all the suggestions guys, it's been most helpful... -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What To Do
Greeneyes4950 replied to msmini14's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I definately feel for you, mainly because it seems like i go through this on a daily basis. Like i was with my friend and she ate her cheese breadsticks in the car (which were my favorite) and prodded me to eat just "one." Which i couldn't, and didn't. It gets easier. Well easier to resist, i have to say. Though i have to say, when i was at a restaurant... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Dating/relationships
Greeneyes4950 replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I would definately say that it complicates things. Going out to "eat" is by no means easy. For me it's no gluten, casein (dairy) or soy, so things are a lot harder. The last time i went to a restaurant i ended up with a plate of steamed broccoil and green beans. i would say that i tend to avoid eating out in general which is hard because at my age, 21... -
I really need help finding something to eat for breakfast -- i'm gfcfsf, and a vegetarian. The things about breakfasts for me is that i always try to eat something with protein, which has meant lately a larabar(s) and fruit. But i'm really not sure about liking this constant consuming of larabars -- plus at 1.50 a piece they are a little expensive. And...

Greeneyes4950 replied to Greeneyes4950's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies...i googled the pure advantage spray, and i'm going to buy some. In regard to the little amount of sorbitol in a b12 question, i try to avoid sorbitol in general, and any other sugar substitutes mainly because i don't think they are healthy, and i've had stomach issues when i ate something not knowing that it was in it in the past... -

Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi, i'm trying to find a subligual b12 that is gluten/casein/soy free -- that is also sorbitol free. And i can't seem to find one. I've read that Methylcobalamin in a b12 is better to have. I was going to order from kirman labs, but their's has sorbitol in it... Does anyone know of a company that doesn't? Much thanks -

Greeneyes4950 replied to Greeneyes4950's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi, thanks for the replies. The odd thing is that that is only the second time in my life that i have broken out in hives. The first time happened when i was quite young, about 5-6 yrs old. According to my family, they believed it was due to some strawberry ice cream i had eaten that day, and i was kept away from strawberries. Well when i... -
ARCHIVED Possible To Make Yourself More Intolerant With Elimination Diet?
Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I began on an elimination diet this summer, in a effort to clear up my stomach problems. It went well, for quite some time. I was eatting gluten/casein/soy/egg/yeast free. Then i cheated. I ate a spicy chicken sandwich and a frosty with m+m's. And within 30-45 minutes, began breaking out with hives -- on my face, arms, ears, stomach, and legs... -

ARCHIVED The Ever Controversial Mcdonald's French Fry Thread
Greeneyes4950 replied to saaa-wheat<3's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I work at at wendys, and trust me, it's not just ingredients that people should worry about, but cross contamination, even if the product itself is seeming gluten free For example, at my work, our fryer is split into three sections, with buttons that can change the cooking times from fries, nuggets, or etc. So many times, fries are cooked in the same oil... -

Greeneyes4950 replied to Greeneyes4950's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks for the replies everyone, it means a lot! For right now, i've decided to just try a pretty strict diet free from, gluten, soy, dairy, egg and yeast. Just to see if it a makes a difference in my health. Which means just a lot of vegetables, fruits, rice, organic chicken and nuts. Hopefully by the time classes start in the beginning of september... -

Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, i'll try to make this brief...if possible. For the last two years, i have been having numerous health problems that my doctor labeled as: fatigue (almost two years ago, when i couldn't stay awake in my classes, and was falling asleep at 6 pm) i still deal with this, though it isn't as bad. i can easily sleep 11-12 hrs a night if i don't set an... -
ARCHIVED At Home Food Intolerance Testing -- Your Opinion/experience
Greeneyes4950 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm interested in getting tested for food intolerances, i'm debating whether to go through Enterolab, or through another company that would test a more wider range of food intolerances, such as yorkallergyusa or any of it's equivalents that would test a broad range of foods, in addition to gluten, egg, yeast, soy and dairy. I'm curious as to what companies...
