  1. If you prepare gluten free and eat gluten free but feel stomach pains hours later what makes it gluten contamination vs. something else you may have ate etc? anything to differentiate in symptoms? Thanks
  2. I also read this which some recommended as well: NASPGHAN recommends eating roughly 2 servings of gluten, equivalent to 2 slices of wheat-based bread, daily for 6-8 weeks prior to testing.
  3. My dr. stated to eat gluten for 4 weeks before bloodtest. I feel so much better w/o gluten and was going to wait until after the summer vacation but hesitating since reading the antibodies might go away etc. and if I can get it over with before hand especially before daughters graduation next month and before summer might be nice. Any tips besides eating...
  4. He said it helped him which is why I was curious if you took it. I agree not for the challenge.
  5. I have read GliadinX is helpful have you taken that when concerned of cross contamination eating out etc? I hope the 4 weeks I gluten myself for this test I can handle my daily lifestyle without major issues.
  6. very interesting that FDA hasnt looked into this study to confirm it helps.
  7. I found a diy flour blend 500 g (2 ¾ cups + 2 tbsp) white rice flour (make sure that it's finely ground) 300 g (1 ¾ cups + 1 tbsp) potato starch (note that this is different from potato flour) 200 g (1 ⅓ cups) corn flour (US)/maize flour (UK) I see recipes that say gluten-free flour blend so I guess I can use something like this and...
  8. I have cgf oat flour so I should buy potato or tapioca flour mixed together to make "flour" is there a recipe you use to stretch the for. Does it come out to 1:1 when replacing regular flour? Also xanthum gun is that good for you or is there a replacement? There a vegan gluten-free granola bar I purchase locally that I'm trying to replicate I think it's no...
  9. Thanks dining out is going to be the hardest bc they can claim they handle it gluten-free but do they really? I work in food industry and I can imagine but I have a few places I did take it that are gluten-free without issues so I am slowly finding my go to places. When I go in vacation this summer it will be a task. It going to Aruba might be more difficult...
  10. Thanks for the well thought out answer. I was wondering if I needed to take multi vitamins as I'm on elimination diet for the summer until I delve into blood test. It appears 8 weeks before would be 2 months before my blood test. I will see when I schedule. I agree my final gluten farewell I don't want to over indulge either during as I have to work and didn...
  11. My doctor stated 4 slices of whole wheat bread for 4 weeks then take the blood work to diagnose. So I guess this is what I have to look forward to in the fall not to ruin summer plans with my family. I'm still confused on what the diagnose would tell me from the blood work. If it says Im gluten sensitive then I already know that from elimination diet and...
  12. You also mentioned eating 10g of gluten for 2 weeks are longer do you think less then 6 weeks is ok? I heard 2 weeks gives false positives what about 4 weeks 10g whole wheat a day? I read 4 slices whole wheat equals to 10g gluten. Would eating 4 slices whole wheat bread a day along with elimination of other gluten suffice? Also do you recommend taking a...
  13. Do you think a multi vitamin would be helpful! Also do symptoms got differently for everyone in regards to running to bathroom? I noticed regular oatmeal sometimes after eating or 1-2 hrs later I gotta go but on gluten-free no urgency. Sometimes I would eat 2 slices whole wheat and no issues for a few days so hard to pinpoint when it hits
  14. Yes that's why I'm holding off on getting tested until after the summer so no Russian roulette bathroom escapades then I will reintroduce and get tested. The vitamins aren't a supplement they are frozen fruits and vegetables that you blend with water so it's natural fruit and veggies that I have used for 5 years daily. I don't take supplements I did full...
  15. Never heard of that but what makes you think that? I checked that but only have 1 symptom diarrhea but may be lactose or fiber increase no other symptom of mcas
  16. I have seen alot of great recipes but when it comes to gluten-free flours its pricy for 3lbs of gluten-free flour. I also noticed increase in sugars in gluten-free products recipes. What have you been using to lower sugar contect and keep costs down in purchasing gluten-free ingredients to bake/cook yourself.
  17. It appears when ging out with friends to a restaurant that doesn't have Gluten free menu salads appear the safest bet worst case scenario. I also read CHick Fil a Grilled chicken is gluten free and you can ask for a gluten-free bun.
  18. Thanks so the blood test will tell if I need to take endoscopy to check damage done? The villi grows back over time. I am on elimination diet and don't feel like eating gluten for 6 weeks to take the blood test since I have vacations planned with my family and would love to feel good for the summer then after I will go for it. Eating 10g of gluten for 6 weeks...
  19. Thanks I figured that much as a dietician won't be of much help. Since summer is coming and in 6-8 weeks I will be on vacation with my family I think I will maintain my gluten free diet and not get tested yet as it appears eliminating glute is helping me and for a test to say your right isn't going to hep me much. Does eating gluten vs. cross contamination...
  20. Thanks for the explanation. Do you think a dietician is required? I see people ask about getting one but what now will they help with besides charge you to say start away from gluten.
  21. Thanks so much for the useful information. What do you mean by invasive, expensive procedure that has some medical risks attached to it, what risks? It appears to be like colonoscopy just other end but never had one so curious in case I need one what to expect thanks
  22. Is the blood test required before endoscopy? Can it just go to endoscopy to test. Or would you need to be in gluten diet either way. Can you also be gluten sensitive but not sensitive to cross contamination? Thanks
  23. I just don't want to eat too much gluten and get sick for 6 weeks before the test. I would rather eat just enough for the test and not over gluten. I guess 2 slices of whole wheat which I was having and my regular oatmeal may work which was my previous routine and pasta but that's about of gluten daily lol I will have to see not sure about buying our gluten...
