  1. i'm from the bay area too! i never knew there were other celiacs up here! has anyone been to the celiac conference at stanford university? they stopped holding it a few years ago, but it was great while it lasted! also, check out the blog on my profile!   2. i in n' out burger!!!! they actully cut their potatoes and you can see them make the fries. one problem... in n' out burger is a lot more rare then mcdonalds and burger king. oh well... it's still really good. also, if you go there, get a chocolate shake! they are the best! ~swimchicky~
  3. Whole Foods has gluten-free tamari and it tastes great! I put this stuff on everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well... not everything but you get the picture. All of my family uses it too altho i am the only 1 wit celiac. they all say it tastes like regular soy sauce. I think it's the San-J kind... I should know, i always have a bottle on the kitchen table...

  5. For people my age it's usually not a problem. With smaller kids though, talk to the teacher and explain the situation. you might also want to pack food for lunches and snacks and class parties that looks the same or similar to the "regular food" so he dosen't feel different, but he will eventully get used to it.
