    ARCHIVED Allergies To

    Hey, thanks for your replies.
  5. Hey, I was just wondering, because I think sometimes people get misdiagnosed with gluten allergy--(I am talking about allergy, not intolerance)--has it ever occurred to anyone's knowledge that a person is allergic to a protein found only in wheat bran and not the rest of the wheat? I seem to have allergic reactions to whole wheat items but not white flour...
  6. Thank you all. I was wondering about the Western Family Traditional jarred spaghetti sauce, because I bought it in a hurry after only glancing at the ingredients. I've e-mailed the company, so hopefully I'll hear back from them. If not, it's not a big deal. I just won't use it and remember not buy unfamiliar products in a hurry again.
  7. Hi. Does anyone know if "natural flavorings" sometimes contain gluten? What about on a spaghetti sauce ingredients list? Thanks.
  8. I used to get carsick, but since I went gluten-free, I don't anymore!
  9. That is fascinating! I'm glad you were able to figure it out for yourself. Thank you.
  10. Hey, thanks a lot for the info!
  11. Hello everyone. I was just wondering, does anyone know about the effect of celiac disease on seratonin levels? I know I've been addicted to wheat and sugar and also suffered from depression. I feel better since going gluten free, but I was just wondering because I know eating things your body rejects can give you a "high." Any thoughts?

    ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia

Hey, thanks for your help, guys. I don't drink coffee and I never have, but I've only been gluten-free for about a month and a half. A few weeks ago I also stopped eating simple sugars almost completely, and that helped for a while, but now I'm falling and slurring my words and getting sick again after meals. I think it's because I get so hungry that I...
  14. Hello. Does anyone know much about hypoglycemia being caused by gluten intolerance? I'm hypoglycemic, pretty badly. But it's reactive hypoglycemia. Any thoughts? What about other types of hypoglycemia? Thanks.
  15. I've read up on it, and it seems to me that the only way ever to know for sure whether or not you're intolerant to gluten is to test it by your diet. It seems a person can test negative in his blood, stool, or intestines, but feels much better when he goes gluten-free. I think a lot of times it's because not enough measurable damage has been done yet, so...
  16. Hey, thanks much, Ursa Major. I appreciate it!
  17. Hey, thanks guys. I was curious about it. Has anybody else been able to brush the brown stuff away off their teeth? You know, like after using a good electric toothbrush for awhile? I still have the white spots and ridges, but not the brown anymore, so I wonder whether they were caused by celiac disease or something else. Thanks, guys!
  18. I've read from several places that Celiac Disease is more common in women than men.
  19. Hi. I was wondering if anybody knows much about the effects of celiac disease/gluten intolerance on dental enamel. I heard they were related. I was even reading that damage to dental enamel could be used by dentists to suggest a patient be tested for celiac disease. When I was younger I had brown spots on my teeth, even though I brushed well and regularly...
  20. Hi. Does anyone know much about the relationship between celiac disease and/or gluten intolerance and lymphoma? I heard that celiac disease could cause it. Thanks.
