  1. Sadly, I don't even think it was that. We were grocery shopping and she picked up a bag of Xanthan Gum and asked me to take some to Beth for my cake. Uh, thanks mom.
  2. I promise I do know when my birthday is, and it's not Friday. It's Saturday. This is what Psychology classes do to me. My boyfriend's mom is making me a gluten free cake (I think it's Bob's Red Mill mix). I think it was supposed to be a surprise, but my mom ruined it.
  3. I have got to say that even with all the nicknames I had/have, JoyPhlegm is not one of them. There was a kid in middle school that called me Yodge. I guess that's what he thought Joy spelled backwards is, but I never understood it. Dear goodness I need to go to bed...
  4. I actually started there and thought it was rather lame. I then skipped to 250ish then to 300ish then to 350 and read on from there. Can you tell that I only had one class today? And truly, it probably wouldn't matter if I didn't live on a dry campus. The one time I might have had a couple sips of a friend's margarita (uh...yeah...I'm a minor until Friday...
  5. Why thank you sooooo much. Alas, I live on a dry campus and haven't figured out if sparkling grape juice is ok. As for looking wittier and better looking...
  6. I think you jammed it with all your vocabulary skills. I tried to go to the site and got this message: Sorry, we are unable to continue right now. Please try back again a little later.
  7. Thanks for the welcome! hahaha I tend to turn to humor to help me get through things. I read a lot of other threads for research and to answer questions, but this one looked like so much fun that I had to post.

  9. I Don't know how much I'll be able to help, since I was just diagnosed, but here's what I have to offer. My RA can't eat gluten either, and already had a mini kitchen set up in our dorm. We have: George Foreman electric stove top (think camping stove top) rice cooker toaster oven I personally have a lot of things that I can take to class...
  10. Hey everyone! I'm one of those newbies Susie or Emily mentioned, who came across this thread by chance. I love it! I really wish I had seen the toaster poster...although that was posted before I was diagnosed, so I wouldn't have had a reason to be here. Also, to combine the cat comment and the dutch oven discussion, the absolute worst is when...
  11. I'm one of the younger ones on here, and use a lot of EyesLipsFace's products. I just got this email from them: Thank you for your interest in e.l.f. Cosmetics. Our products do not contain gluten or beeswax. Please be aware, however, that we cannot guarantee that the machinery used to process our products are completely gluten free. Sincerely, The...
  12. One cool thing about Whole Foods: On their website you can choose which Whole Foods is closest to you, then select dietary restrictions (gluten for us) and it will give you a PDF file of all the gluten free products at that store. I was just diagnosed last week, and I was so excited when I found that out!
  13. I live in Central, SC, and have been looking for a group. I haven't found one yet. Maybe we could start our own?
