  1. Thank you Janpell!! I will definitely do that, I'll start a food diary tomorrow.
  2. Hi thanks! I just called an allergist office to ask them if they do that (they weren't there so I left a message), I haven't tried that yet. Maybe they will find something else I can remove from my diet to try. My thyroid dr normally says I'm around 2, I have an appointment coming up in the next month or so so I will ask him, but he always gave me the...
  3. Thanks guys, I will try these. I'm really at the end of my rope with doctors, I'm thinking about switching to a new one again because they all are just so useless. It's like they don't care or don't take it seriously even though they can plainly see there is something seriously wrong with my knees.
  4. I haven't been back to this forum in years, I've just been managing celiac disease as best I can. It doesn't bother me so much anymore than the Hashimoto's does, I've just gotten used to it. However, in September 2009 I developed arthritis which persists to this day. I'm only 27 years old but this makes me so depressed sometimes I just dissolve into tears...
  5. Well that sucks. But so far it doesn't seem to help them either, right now both of my thumb joints are huge and I cannot really bend them at all, they are so filled with fluid. Good thing I don't need them to type, just to hit the space bar! Honestly I sometimes worry that one day they will not stop filling with fluid and will just explode. Probably...
  6. Hi all, only a small update. Basically, I have found out that Nexium makes me sick. Whether it's a cross contamination issue or simply side effects, I'm not going to be able to keep taking it. So I have stopped talking the Aleve because the GI said I can't take it without taking something to prevent the stomach ulcers it's known to cause. Basically...
  7. Update: found a Gluten Free Nasal spray! I called Astelin today and they confirmed it's Gluten free. Hopefully it will work better than Claritin for me.
  8. Don't flat out trust that GlutenFreeDrugs website, it's got alot of outdated stuff. You should always call the company yourself, rather than counting on others to do it for you. I take Tri-Nessa, it's not guaranteed but they say the starch is from Corn, I've been taking for ages with no problems and I had a scope in March, so I'm fairly certain it's...
  9. I agree, for them to be so ignorant about a serious condition means they have absolutely no ground to stand on with complaints. My advice is, fill up on gluten-free goodness, and buy those guys books on Celiac disease for Xmas. When people are rude like that to me, I generally refuse to go. If they are not going to take my disease seriously then...
  10. This is what they said, so please check anything you bought from Breyers! Hopefully everyone is up to date on it. 10/22/09 : Unilever United States, Inc., of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is voluntarily recalling a limited number of tubs of Breyers
  11. Actually, I only started changing medications after the problem started. The start of this appeared to be completely random, at the time I hadn't changed anything, and no changes I make seem to help. As for Naturemade, they say no gluten on the bottle, so I'm sure it's not that. They are cheaper than the Pioneer and only require to take 1 pill, so that...
  12. Hello all. Well I've been back to the doctor and the GI. Basically, they are now both saying they think this isn't triggered by gluten, but the GI is making me come back repeatedly to keep my antibody levels monitored. The Rheumatologist feels it is 'peripheral arthritis'. He said right now he doesn't believe it fits the pattern of Seronegative R.A...
  13. Thanks guys, I have been checking over all of my medication because of the weird knee/thumb swelling issue (I have posted about in another thread). I'm going to make an appointment with my GI, he seems concerned I might be getting gluten, although I don't think so. I already badgered my GP into retesting my Thyroid & my Celiac and both came back fine...
  14. I am trying to cut the nightshade plants out of my diet for a week to see if they get any better. My knees have gone down in swelling since the weekend, although all day today my neck and back were aching. My Rheumatologist wants me to take the methlapredisone again, so I guess I will do that for now. I called my GI, he said celiac related arthritis...
  15. I was prescribed prednisone for my swollen knees, but have been unable to take my medication. This is because the two companies I have called do not verify the product to be gluten free, or know the ingredients. The first company was Watson, they simply stated that they believed the main issues were with starch, and their starch was corn but they didn...
  16. Thanks for responding guys. I haven't actually taken the "prednisone" yet, because the pharmacy couldn't confirm for me that it was gluten free...even though I specifically asked the Rheumatologist to tell them to check it when he gave them the prescription. The one that was working was "methylprednisolone". I think they must be different but related...
  17. I am sincerely hoping someone can help me with this problem. I am 23 years old, female, caucasian, and have several health conditions. I take the following medications: Levothyroxine (for thyroid), Tri-Nessa, Nasonex, Zyrtec, multi vitamin - took 1 a day instead of the 6 recommended (used to be pioneer gluten-free, I have in the last two weeks switched to...
  18. My mom made me some gluten-free muffins the other day, and I ate one, then spazzed out when she mentioned baking powder. The canister didn't say anything about gluten, so I emailed Save-A-Lot with the name and UPC code. They were really awesome and got back to me quick: Thank you for your recent web inquiry and thank you for shopping with us. We
  19. Hi All, Just like to report that I completely stopped eating out (and drinking soda) since my last post and wow, do I feel like an idiot. The gas is nearly completely gone and the bloating is almost gone too. I was seeing serious improvement in like 3 days. I am so pissed that I've been gluten-ing myself all this time unintentionally... If...
  20. I have not had a biopsy, I went straight from the anti-body test to the diet. I never wanted one, I know when I eat gluten I feel sick as a dog, and when I don't I get better. It seems stupid to risk getting fired from my job by taking off a week because I'm so sick from force feeding myself gluten just so my doctor can confirm for his own satisfaction what...
  21. What are the symptoms of the candidia in the gut and how do you check for it? I have bloating + constant flatulaence, but at the same time I am definitely a celiac...could those symptoms be explained by just celiac?
  22. Does she have a website you can send me?
  23. Thank you guys, I'm going to see about getting a reference to a GI from my regular doctor. I'm sure he must know someone, because that's the same kind of person you go to for acid reflux right? (my mom has that)
  24. No I don't mind their birthdays, but I still think it's rather rude to put my name on a cake for my birthday knowing full well I can't eat it, then eat it in front of me. They also have "reward" pizza and donut parties, I just think it's inconsiderate to leave me out of it. If I found out somebody had, like, a nut allergy at my party, I'd make sure they...
  25. What is a GI?
