  1. Cool thank you! You know, I have to wonder if there isn't a specialist for this type of thing. I mean, shouldn't somebody want to focus on it?
  2. I've been trying my best to live gluten-free since Nov 07. My doctor considers the matter resolved since trying a gluten-free diet, and honestly he hasn't endeavored to learn anything more about celiac or gluten. I've been pretty much on my own. What I want to know is, are there specific kinds of tests a celiac should get regularly? Is it worth it to spend...
  3. I think all of this is rooted in the fact that most doctors simply know diddly about celiac. My doctor kept telling me I was stressed when I kept coming back to him with my symptoms, and it was only after I read an article on "The Real Doctor House" and found out about this disease caused Celiac that I started to wonder. While he was pushing me to take anti...
  4. Thank you very much, all of you. I think I am definately going to stop eating Taco Bell then. I believe this started becoming worse when I started working again (I was unemployed for three months and once I started working again I started eating out more). I think I will try doing without the Chipoltle for a while as well. As for the soda I'm trying...
  5. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease back in Nov 07 after months of harassing my doctor trying to figure out what was making me so miserable. I found out about it in a medical magazine and decided the symptoms sounded similar to my own. I got the blood test for it and it came back positive, so I switched to a gluten-free diet. Now, back then I remember...
  6. Thank you so much for your responses! I've been having trouble with the internet and couldn't access this site for some time, but it's fixed now. I greatly appreciate your responses and help! Also, I have found out a few things myself: -The Hard Rock Cafe is not safe for Celiacs in Japan, everything on their menu contains MSG -Komugiko is the word...
  7. My doctor told me to start taking Align when he found out I had celiac. So far I haven't really seen any benefit to it, but it's only been two weeks. It has the probiotic called Bifidobacterium infantis.
  8. You know, I had symptoms for months with my Doctor calling them stress and lactose intolerance and eventually when I was talking to him about my sister and her diabetes and my thyroid condition, a light bulb seemed to go off and he said we should test for celiac. He used a blood test and when that came back he told me I have celiac, so I'm going to go gluten...
  9. Thank you very much! You've been a huge help. I will definitely bring some mixes and cookies and crackers with me from the gluten-free store, and I'll try and learn more about what I can eat there before I go. Thanks again!
  10. How about just in general Asian countries?
  11. Thanks very much! I'll call the Pharmacy and ask them.
  12. I'm going to be in Japan for a month and a half. Obviously I'm going to be eating alot of rice, but are there any foods I should specifically avoid? Are there anything you would suggest (snacks, meals) that I can definitely eat? How do you say 'Gluten' in Japanese? Thanks!
  13. Hello, I've just been diagnosed with Celiac and one of my friends who's very up on common medical problems gave me "Living Gluten-Free for Dummies" which has been extremely helpful. In the book, the writer mentions you should check medications for gluten too. How do I find out if the Trinessa I take for birth control and the Levothyroxine I take for Hashimoto...
