Alright. So by now I'm a little more than 6 months gluten-free. I've improved dramatically, gained about 10-15 kg, I'm able to work and perform hard physical tasks. I've also been lactose-free for a while, but now I seem to tolerate moderate amounts of lactose. Still, some symptoms have not yet fully subsided. Symptoms such as moderate anxiety, brainfog...

Anyone have more information with regards to serotonin and if serotonin-levels are affected by the autoimmune-damage caused by celiac disease? -

wow, interesting, really, thanks guys! done some quick research and seems that low amounts of serotonin can lead to a lot of typical "mental symptoms" that we often see in celiac disease. Anyone have more information? -
ARCHIVED Anxiety And Panic, When Does It Subside?

So gluten is definitively a trigger for anxiety, now the question is, is there any way to ease the anxiety? or even make it go away? or you just gotta be patient with the diet and watch out for cc? -

NOW B-12 Nervous System Health, from the box, quote unquote "Contains no salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives. No milk, no lactose eh? Besides, you think lactose could have anything to do with my anxiety? I mean, the lactose intolerance is simply from the lack of lactase, could it affect my "mental health"? -

Glad to hear that the anxiety of some others have subsided, guess there's still hope for me. I know how you feel sickchick, the anxiety is worse than all the other symptoms together and also harder to explain to others than the gastrointestinal symptoms. Does anyone know WHY celiac patients experience anxiety? I've heard that most of the symptoms come... -

ARCHIVED Anxiety And Panic, When Does It Subside?

My first celiac-symptoms started about 1.5 years ago, the big D, loose stools, small but constant weight-loss, went down about 5 kg over 1 year, during this time I had minor anxiety attacks, minor depressions and minor mood changes once every month or so. About 7-8 months ago, when things got really bad, I lost about 5 kg within few weeks, I experienced... -
If Jimbo is joking (which I am fairly sure he is) I hope for his sake that he realizes what the complications of coeliac is, what with the cancer and infertility and all. Just because you don't experience symptoms or have any damage on the outside, the villy in your small bowel is damaged

Don't believe anything this guy says, i've been around the internet long enough to know when someones either making a practical joke or trying to sell something

ARCHIVED Testing For Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Blondie replied to Blondie's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
You can't apply logic to the way medical healthcare works here in norway. There was this Norwegian girl who got seriously ill at the age of 17, and after numerous tests she requested a small bowel biopsy from her doctor, he turned ehr down and said that coeliac was "not very likely", she continued being sick for 10 years, seriously sick,, she slept for like... -
ARCHIVED Testing For Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Blondie replied to Blondie's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Incase anyone should care, the biopsy for both DH and Psoriasis came back negative, everything came back negative, dermatologist classified it as eczema. Wow, im kinda shocked to hear that a doctor would diagnose based on dietary response, that would never happen here in Norway. -
ARCHIVED Testing For Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Blondie replied to Blondie's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Wow, sad to hear that :\ I sorta depend upon my DH diagnosis in order to get funding for my glutenfree diet (i have selfdiagnosed coeliac) Well, I hope this guy knows what he's doing and took the biopsy where it's supposed to be taken -
Hello, I have a question about testing for Dermatitis Herpetiformis. Is there any thing such as a false-negative when it comes to a skin-biopsy? My skin-doctor thought it was psoriasis, but I am fairly sure it is DH, so we agreed to test for both. But if the DH test comes back negative, is there the slightest possibility in the world that I could still...

ARCHIVED Brain Fog
Blondie replied to Blondie's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have no way of knowing how long I've had coeliac, but my problems started about 1.2 years ago and brainfog about 4-5 months ago. Found out I have celiac about 2-3 months ago and I have been glutenfree since then, without beeing glutened as far as I know. I am 99.99% sure that I am not consuming any gluten whatsoever as of right now. I also have anxiety... -
The doctors never figured out what was wrong with me, I had to figure it out all on my own, and I did. Consulted with 3 different doctors and got examined by one of the head-doctors at the local hospital. It was the same story with my other diseases, such as migrane and astma, I figured these two out myself after A LOT of research, these two I got confirmed...

I've been glutenfree for about 2-3 months now, and I feel great, nut I still have this weird feeling that I've seen others refer to as "Brain fog". I'm wondering, those of you who have experienced this brain fog, how many weeks/months did it take before you lost it?
