I had hives for years. after i went gluten-free/CF one of my friends noticed they had disappeared. Hives are definitely a sign of an allergic reaction. When I had my son in the hospital and they asked for allergies I gave them my list. They asked for what the symptoms were and when I mentioned hives, they stopped me and said that's all the reaction they need. LOL Take her to the allergist.

I'm a gluten-free/CF'er and here's what I get at in-n-out:
burger, protein style, animal style, no sauce no seasoning and fries

Here are some of the foods I love that are gluten-free/CF:
Simply Fruit sorbet in raspberry drizzled w/ chocolate syrup... yummmmm this is my addiction food.
hummus w/ baby carrots or celery
peanut butter (I alwats check the label cause I've seen PB's that have dairy protein added
nuts - but only if the packaging says gluten-free.. I learned this one the hard way. ALOT of nuts are processed on machinery that processes wheat and dairy
meats
fish
shellfish
fruits
vegetables
corn tortillas
tuna made up as for a tuna salad sandwich then eaten with gluten-free corn chips or corn tortilla chips. sounds weird but yummy!
baked potato w/ anything on it that is gluten-free/CF
sweet potatoes
marinated mushroom salad from the deli at my grocery store
ACT II kettle corn microwave popcorn
gluten-free/CF cornbread with gluten-free/CF margarine and honey - yummy for breakfast
peanut butter cap'n crunch with almond milk (I HATE soy milk!)
i have not tried tofutti products yet, but I heard from some non gluten-free/CF friends that it tastes good

Lipton Onion Soup mix has soy protein and states on the pkg it is made in a facility that processes milk, egg, soy, wheat, sesame and sulfites

In-N-Out:
#3 protein style, animal style, no sauce, no seasoning. If you can do dairy (I can't) you can get the #2, same way. Their fryers are dedicated and one of the workers told me they are expereinced with dealing with food allergies & intolerances and they get asked questions relating to ingredients all the time.
Royal Hawaiian in HB:
seared scallops. chef said they sear in a pan w/ butter. I requested olive oil instead. Did not get the salad as it is tossed in a house dressing made with blue cheese, but if you can do dairy it is gluten-free if you get no croutons. They also serve a french onion soup, but I did not eat that since it comes with a crostini on top

I was wondering if anyone knows, has considered or confirmed the possibility of CC happening in the manufacturing process with infant formula? I have a 2 month old who is exhibiting symptoms of some form of intolerance or allergy. After reading a bunch of topics in this forum from some of you who have had babies with similar symptoms, i'm starting to wonder....

Hi all! New to this board and wanted to intro myself. Here is my celiac disease/gluten-free story:
3 yrs ago went to the Dr for help with the life-long gastro issues so many of us experience. After taking a history he told me "I think you are intolerant of wheat & dairy. Eliminate it from your diet for 14 days and come back." I was shocked, that had never occured to me! He also wanted to do some tests to rule out ulcers, etc. (Barium enemas sure are fun - NOT). So I did the elimination test and at the same time started doing research on my own, mainly so I could figure out how to live. That's when I found info online about celiac disease. I was so floored at how many of the symptoms of celiac disease I have had over my entire life and never really gave it any thought I was so used to it. I've never had the Celiac panel or the biopsy done, in my research I didn't know there were specific blood tests to confirm it (and I'm assuming neither did my Dr.) Until a few days ago when I found this forum! So I'm going to schedule an appt ASAP and get the tests, just to have a confirmed diagnosis. Especially for those people who think there is nothing wrong with me (medically, anyway!) then I get to say "nanner nanner"!
I also have four kids who exhibit symptoms and once I get tested I am going to get them tested as well.
Looking forward to all the info! I'm already enjoying reading it.
