ARCHIVED Anxiety And Panic, When Does It Subside?
FlourShopGirl replied to Blondie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I also have severe anxiety and depression along with the agression at times. Mine started 2 years ago manily during my periods and ovulation- so I thought it was hormonal. I lived a very sound life before all that, not an ill-thought in my head and it's been a rollercoaster. I don't know how long it takes but for me I assume it takes time. I've had IBS... -
ARCHIVED Can Tooth Decay Affect Your Mental Health?
FlourShopGirl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Although my father claims my mother took me to the dentist very little, I remember going. My teeth these past few years have fallen apart. Thank goodness I have the kind of mouth that hides my teeth. But 16 teeth have cavities, 1 failed root canal, one broken tooth and lots more that scare me. I am not sure if this is from wheat problems or what but I think... -
I'm making this for dinner and the Chili Powder is Simply Organic. I'm not sure if it's gluten-free. Can anyone help me?? All read organic in front of the names- Cumin, Oregano, Coriander, garlic, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent) allspice and cloves. The anti-caking agent scares me. Can I eat this? Thank you for your help!

ARCHIVED Britney Spears & Dairy Allergies
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm not a brit fan either. I do feel bad for her though. Last Sunday in Church they talked about her and her downfalls. It was mentioned how if this was someone you knew you would pray for them however, you'd never think about it with a celebrity. I have read about the 80% remission- I found that very interesting. -

Found this sort of interesting. You hear about this girl constantly and I think gluten has affected me mentally. I've wondered if my main anxiety and depression issues are caused my years of IBS and wheat problems. From Tmz.com- All of poor Brit Brit's Starbucks runs and ice cream socials may be worsening her "condition," y'all. According to... -
ARCHIVED Wegman's Is Awesome!
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have to laugh at the more expensive part because they tended to be much cheaper for me and had more choices. I checked out that link with the site and was shocked sooo much was gluten-free. The pasta was cheaper. Amy's tends to put out a lot of Gluten-free Casein-free meals. That is impressive! I am happy when people at restuarants are educated too... -
ARCHIVED Hormonal Issues During Period
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I considered taking YAZ however, I am nervous about taking it because I went on the lowest form available and my anxiety wes through the roof. My mom has ovarian cancer (she's 56 and never took BC) and I know it would lower my chances but I am still worried about it messing with my horomones- I got my period at 12, almost 13. I am glad to hear BC helped... -
ARCHIVED Do We Really Need To Make Our House gluten-free?
FlourShopGirl replied to katifer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I focus is mainly on my son and I- not my daughter in husband so I can relate. I buy mainly gluten-free/CF items now for everyone. I get snacks we all can enjoy and my husband knows if there is something he truly wants, I'll pick it up and he can hide it from the kids. I think it's important to keep on track and so far nobody complained. -
Anyone go through this? For 2 years I have been having very extreme periods. They only last for 4 days but when I ovulate to a week past my period my moods are horrible. I get suicidal, OCD thoughts, depression and anxiety attacks daily... it's horrible. I'll feel extreme mental fog/confusion like I should be locked up in a hospital. The doctor keeps saying...

ARCHIVED Wegman's Is Awesome!
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I might join a support group- apparently my town has a huge center all about Celiac. I must have said the words "Gluten-Free" a million times today. It would be great to meet other people who are dealing with this. Maybe someone will strike a conversation up with me, who knows, in Wegmans. -
ARCHIVED Wegman's Is Awesome!

To answer someone's question, I shop at the Warrington, PA one. I saw a woman with tons of gluten-free proucts in her cart and I wanted to say something. I feel the need to connect with other people and especially parents in the area. I've lived in my area for 3 years, 2 kids in school and haven't met one person. I have two best friends that I've known for... -

ARCHIVED Wegman's Is Awesome!
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was shocked, they had a lot of options. I have been running into having to go to 2 markets. One for me and the kids and one the other for my husband. He eats gluten-free with us but there are certain things he wants. My son has ADHD and my daughter doesn't. I've read GGCF diets can help ADHD. Anyway, to be able to have a one stop shop is amazing.... -
ARCHIVED Wegman's Is Awesome!

I live 15 mins away from one and I haven't been there in a while. I was soooo happy today. They have food aisles with huge "Gluten-Free" sections and even the organic. They are better than Whole Foods. It's soooo expensive at Whole Foods and things were cheaper and I found twice as much selection. If you live near one, I would highly suggest going. It... -

ARCHIVED Casein Question: What Are Good Alts For Milk & Cheese?
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I've never heard of Hemp milk, is that hard to find? Yes, that high processed stuff I am keeping clear of. I had NO idea hummus was gluten-free/ casein free. I LOVE it too but I passed by it thinking it could have fillers in it now. You sound like you make some amazing foods! What time is dinner? Thank you! -
ARCHIVED Casein Question: What Are Good Alts For Milk & Cheese?
FlourShopGirl posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am new to all this. I feel like I research a lot and it's amazing what I find on gluten-free issues as far as mental and physical health concerns. I've gone gluten-free but I am just learning about casein. I know I have problems with milk but what are good subs for milk, cheese, etc? I have two little kids (my son has ADHD) and I think this all will benefit... -
ARCHIVED My Symptoms Seem Worse Since gluten-free
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you! I didn't elimate dairy but it does bother my stomach. I would love to be able to eat it again because butter especially is horrible for me. I'm making meals that are for sure gluten free with gluten-free products or just basics (chicken, potato, veggies). -
ARCHIVED Anyone In Ambler Pa?
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Really? Wegman's has G's on their food items? What have you found good so far? I love Whole Foods but they can be costly. I feel like I doubled my cost of living lately on food and with 2 kids with hollow legs... I'd love more alternatives. I love Wegman's- they just are a little further for me. -
ARCHIVED Anyone In Ambler Pa?
FlourShopGirl replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Yes, it's not too far from me. I have seen a sign on the door, it's just hidden up some stairs. If you are driving down Butler Pike, it's near the gas station on the corner. I have thought about them too. I heard they do cookouts and I think the support would be awesome. Genuardis up in Spring house has a few gluten-free items. Mrs. Leeper's makes Hamburger... -

I live very close to this place! I went to Chicago Grill (Unos) on Friday and they have a Gluten-Free menu to give you right as you walk in. I was happy with the choices too. -
ARCHIVED Stonefield's Yogurt
FlourShopGirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bought the Strawberry & Vanilla today. I think I got them confused wth Brown Cow which is shown on an ad on this website. Stonefeld says- "Two Stonyfield products, Yo Baby Plus Cereal Yogurt and Cookies and Dream Premium Ice Cream, do contain gluten. All other Stonyfield yogurt products, frozen yogurt, and ice cream do not contain any gluten source...
