  1. Totally thought of that too in the first place. Not only did I read that it was sorta common with celiacs but it's also in my family bloodline. Luckily I did get it tested and it came out negative. The only thing that was bad in it, which I kinda expected, were extremely high liver enzymes - three times what they should be - and active hepatitis B. I...
  2. Well I'm not by any means muscular and I do have chunky areas so even if my body fat is low, it's still there. Bone mass? I wouldn't know where to tell you about that one..Uhm I'm 5'5" so my stature overall is pretty small. The normal weight range for me is said from 110 and up to 130 lbs. I'm 92 lbs now which scares the heck out of me. I had a feeling...
  3. Its been a while since I've gone completely gluten free and was last weighed at the doctor's office. Since then, I've noticed one or two pounds drop off but I thought I'd gain, especially since the issue is gaining not losing when going gluten-free; but, with me it seems to be the opposite. After what I thought was over indulging during my stay with my bf...
  4. I feel like that too sometimes where it can happen when I simply talk to someone and then embarassingly ask them to repeat the question; but I get dizzy with it too sometimes. It only lasts for a few seconds but it's stupid. How long do 'withdrawl' symptoms last, in general?
  5. I feel your pain. My house is totally non-gluten free except for what I use and since I know I share utensils, I got into the habit of rewashing everything and religiously stick to taking digestive pills. It was kind-of-sort-of-not-really-funny when I went to reach for a fork and saw that it had a tiny bit of cheese on it that was used beforehand for chicken...
  6. You just answered/settled a big question of mine if overdoing the enzymes would be bad or not. Now I won't be afraid to use them under any circumstances. I couldn't use the Bob's Red Mill flour, unfortunately; got very sick after eating them. I'm now using my own flour blend of tapioca starch, rice flour, etc. Now to get it all to -work- is the next task...
  7. Ah, you, sir, are indeed correct. It is cyanocobalamin and there isn't magnesium in my multi either. I dipped a little into it as well and that actually might help my hypertension. Thank you very much! I'll look into another multi and find a magnesium supplement next chance I get.
  8. Wow I'm happy I found someone else experiencing the same thing. I haven't had my period in two years, which scares the living daylights out of me. Once or twice I saw blood drops but then nothing else. As I think about it now, it could have been from something else too. I'm nervous about going to the GYN or, rather, I didn't even think about it. I told...
  9. Before I went gluten free, I used to get blisters on the side of my tongue filled with blood but for a while they stopped after I cut out the gluten. Now I've noticed their return and it's not only on the side of my tongue now but towards the back and on the center and it hurts. I ruled out 'spicy' food because I haven't eaten anything spicy in a...
  10. I take a multi-vitamin which has B12 in it. I don't want to take any extra unnecessary pills. Do enzyme pills count? I take them every time I eat, according to what the bottle says to help digestion. You can't get addicted to them could you?
  11. I, too, felt the same way as you did prior to becoming gluten free. I was crying every day and almost diagnosed with depression and perscribed a pill - but I rejected it because I didn't find it necessary. I sleep a lot better now and overall emotionally feel that I can tolerate things more. I know what you mean about your eyes too; today I actually thought...
  12. Do you get set backs, though, when you get accidentally contaiminated? As in, make the healing take longer? I couldn't pinpoint why I felt sick last night after I ate some gluten-free biscuits I made with Bob's Red Mill gluten-free All Purpose - and then I read that they technically aren't gluten-free. Oh yeah, major pains this morning. I was scanning...
  13. Haha, I already did buy an enzyme med and it's been a life saver in easing the discomfort. I just have to take it all the time because I didn't at breakfast and I was feeling icky which was probably from the night before. I totally love the spaghetti squash. It reminds me of rice noodles actually, too. I love all squash so that's probably why. Spaghetti...
  14. Being raised in an Italian household, where pasta is served all the time, I really don't care for baked ziti, or lasgna with all that cheese. I do have a question about the dairy since I ate some last night and did have an uncomfortable reaction. Would it be that the casein in the dairy that causes the discomfort or is it the lactose? Or even a combination...
  15. Well I know I've seen "rice cheese" since I did purchase it once upon a time but it has a weird melting point. You have to get it really hot for it to melt but, then again, could've been just that one brand. I was thinking of that to replace my cheese again, too, since the soy shouldn't be overwhelming. That's why they make almond milk..and in Raw diets...
  16. Mm I noticed the soy and dairy allergies from many posts by many people..it's just that it's limiting me on a lot of things. Then again, that's what probably did me in in the first place so go figure! Hah. I just feel worse for my boyfriend..as if its unfair to him because he loves dairy and bread. He's, however, being so supportive and trying his best...
  17. Okay then I'll stop acting like a retard and going around sterilizing my kitchen.. I'll significantly cut back on the yogurt and cheese for a while, eating it maybe once or twice a week or, as you said, a weekend treat. That sounds reasonable and like I could keep that up until my gut heals better. I never ate that much of it anyway. Maybe once every other...
  18. I recently just noticed this myself. I got paranoid and threw them out since after I ate some of the chickpeas, I felt rather icky and nothing else that day (as far as I could remember) could have set me off. I didn't feel too bad since there wasn't many left in the bag but to play it safe I'm going to look around for one that doesn't state "may contain wheat...
  19. I used to get sick with the microwavable popcorns and didn't even realize it. After I started popping my own, it doesn't bother me at all so maybe that's why. Plus, look at all the chemicals added to the bagged popcorns. Some of them are used in resins and table polish For a quick way to pop corn..and it might also be considered lazy (depends on your...
  20. Before I stopped gluten, I can specifically remember I was crying every day and nearly every week and I couldn't explain why. I mean my home situation isn't the best place on earth (I'm a caretaker to an Alzheimer's patient and my grandmother has crippling rheumatoid arthritis) but I was never that bad at tolerating it since I've been doing this for the majority...
  21. Got the plain safe yogurt today..forgot how good it was with some fruit. Today was one of the better days but my gut feels so sore that it occasionally hurts when I bend...and instead of not going, I went five or six times today. Gosh this is such a pain! The issue that I have to tolerate is I guess feeling icky most of the time since my house...
  22. Ahh this is just so hard to get used to this all! Eh, I guess I'm stubborn with the yogurt dairy thing because I just really love my dairy..lol. But, yeah, I ate some a while ago and I've been okay except minor discomfort; however, I'll make the switch and get some of the gluten-free recommended brands tomorrow. There unfortunately isn't a Wegamans but...
  23. Oh! This actually correlates to my sort of pain. I suffered from discomfort before going gluten free but then when I encountered cross contaimination, the pain literally floored me and I was in tears. After an hour or so it subsided.. I think it makes sense: once your my body becomes accustomed to a gluten free diet that once reintroduced, like elfkin...
  24. Well, I hardly ever eat out to begin with and I always cook for myself. It's comforting to know what you put in your food as opposed to what someone else might be putting in your food. I have been eradicating all gluten contents from my shelves ever since I was told this. So I am still quite new at the whole "maybe even this could be hurting me". Dairy...
