  1. Yes, our summary does include much of what your summary says... 😄
  2. Hi Vonnie, Mental issues including behavior issues caused by celiac disease is quite common, and here are some articles on this: /celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/schizophrenia-mental-problems-and-celiac-disease/
  3. Although bad breath is not listed in the most common symptoms of celiac disease, many people have reported this here as one of their symptoms. Here is a search of our site for "bad breath": https://www.celiac.com/search/?q="bad breath"&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and
  4. Did you get any blood tests done? Normally you would have a blood screening before doing the endoscopy. If so, please share the results. If not, you should ask your doctor to do this before you go gluten-free.
  5. I would follow your doctor's advice and repeat the blood test after 6 weeks of eating gluten. If the results are positive I would consider myself, at the very least, gluten sensitive, and go on a gluten-free diet. Due to your unusual circumstances your doctor may ask you to do another biopsy if you have positive blood tests. It's your call whether you would...
  6. For a gluten challenge I believe they recommend at least 6 weeks of eating ~1 slice worth of wheat bread a day before the blood tests. Certainly doing this would be a good idea if you would not otherwise be able to maintain a gluten-free diet for life, or if you had any doubts about whether or not you should be gluten-free.
  7. They should be taking at least 4 specimens when doing a biopsy: So the scenarios you've presented are indeed possible.
  8. Celiac.com 11/11/2020 - Most ketchups are made with naturally gluten-free ingredients. However, many brands do not label their ketchup as gluten-free. That's not necessarily a big deal, but some people like to play it safe. These brands...
  9. Oh, and here are some articles on the MTHFR mutation and celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/search/?&q=MTHFR&type=cms_records2&search_and_or=and
  10. In case anyone is interested, here are the summaries we've done on the connection between celiac disease and liver issues: /celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/liver-disease-and-celiac-disease/
  11. There was a really good knockoff that I used to sell when I owned The Gluten-Free Mall called Josef's Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, but they are no longer available. Open Original Shared Link
  12. I can't tell from your post if your diarrhea issues have gone away. If not, be sure that your diet is 100% gluten-free, and that you don't have additional food intolerance issues (some could be temporary), like cow's milk, other grains, soy, etc. The average time to healing is about 2 years, but this depends a lot on how badly your gut damage was, and...
  13. I believe that this is not correct. All protocols I have seen indicate that you MUST be eating gluten daily for at least 2 weeks before the endoscopy for celiac disease is done. This could explain why your results were negative. Many people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity do have additional food intolerance issues, some of which may be temporary...
  14. All seltzer should be gluten-free, and I doubt any would bother labelling it GF.
  15. Welcome to the forum! To me it seems like, at the very least, you have gluten sensitivity, even if it might be technically classified as "non-celiac gluten sensitivity." Your blood test results and genetic test support this, and may even support you having celiac disease, although that's not been confirmed yet with a biopsy. You have classic celiac disease...
  16. Here is the standard panel:
  17. Given how many people are gluten-free now it seems like an obvious addition to their offerings.
  18. I think more research needs to be done on this particular symptom of neck/shoulder pain and celiac disease. It's been mentioned here too often for it not to be a common problem for those with celiac disease. Thanks for bringing up the vagus nerve connection...
  19. I generally stick with red wine, but 100% agave tequila is my favorite spirit.
  20. Have you ever considered getting food allergy tests done to find the culprits, and then avoid them if possible? If you can't avoid them perhaps you could at least rotate your diet so that you don't eat them as often. I will assume that you are 100% gluten-free and that isn't causing you issues, but it never hurts to double check your diet to be sure.
  21. If you have been gluten-free for such a long time then no current tests done now would give you correct results. You must be eating gluten daily for 4-6 weeks for blood tests to be accurate, and 2-4 weeks for the endoscopy to by accurate. If you are certain that you have issues with gluten, and are positive for both DQ2 and DQ8, perhaps you don't need...
  22. Celiac.com 11/09/2020 - Most people with celiac disease attempt to follow a gluten-free diet. There have been a few studies that indicate that people with celiac disease are regularly exposed to gluten. However, there isn't much good data...
  23. We have done a product review on this one, but many are now labelled gluten-free:
