can it cause palpitations ?
Scott Adams replied to DJFL77I's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It definitely could be related to eating gluten if you are sensitive to it. I had similar issues, went to the emergency room a couple of times because it felt like heart issues, but they found nothing. I also had panic attacks that were sometimes associated with this, and the feeling of vertigo. This was at the height of my symptoms before I finally got diagnosed... -

Is Jello Instant Pudding Gluten-Free?
Scott Adams commented on Scott Adams's article in Gluten-Free Foods & Beverages
In the USA if Modified Food Starch has wheat in it, it must be declared on the label. It is gluten-free if it doesn't list "wheat." For more info:- 14 comments

There are many others who have reported this here as well. You are correct to first focus on your diet for hidden sources of gluten, especially when eating outside your home, which is a common way to get gluten contamination. Safe Gluten-Free Food List (Safe Ingredients)
Scott Adams commented on Scott Adams's article in Safe & Unsafe Foods & Ingredients
@GHoney This list is what it says it is, a list of safe, gluten-free ingredients. That is the subject of this web site. There are many ingredient lists out there based on health alone, which isn't this list. Feel free to exclude whatever ingredients in this list that don't work for your diet, but all of these work for a gluten-free diet.- 66 comments

Welcome to the forum! So if you were diagnosed with celiac disease as a teenager you still have celiac disease, it is a lifelong disease that doesn't go away. It goes into remission when you are on a gluten-free diet, and if you go off it, the disease will return, as happened in your case. A breath test would not be how to diagnose celiac disease...

Lifetime of symptoms.
Scott Adams replied to Annisj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It's your call here, as it sounds like you would not touch gluten again with a 10 foot pole, not matter what the genetic test results show. You may want to do it to help encourage your other family members to get tested, should your results be positive. When I had my genetic tests done it turned out that I am positive for both DQ2 and DQ8, and I got... -

I've never heard that Gatorade is not gluten-free, or could somehow be contaminated with wheat. Please provide a source for this info.- 3 comments

Scott Adams replied to David Lightfoot's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had temporary food intolerance issues after my diagnosis that included chicken eggs (I could eat duck eggs), tomatoes, corn, and dairy/cow's milk (I could each sheep's milk). These went away about two years after I began a gluten-free diet, but I discovered them by keeping a food diary. I recommend that you do this for a while to find foods that may be... -
Celiac and divicular disease,
Scott Adams replied to shirley wood graham's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I think she means diverticulitis, which is fairly common. It can be very painful when you have flare ups, and if it is causing you pain it's important for you to consult with a gastroenterologist to see what is going on. -
After I got diagnosed I had several temporary food intolerance issues, including casein/cow's milk, corn, chicken eggs, tomatoes, etc. They mostly went away after a couple of years on a GF diet, but in the meantime I was able to eat duck eggs. You can get duck eggs at farmer's markets, and/or Asian markets (be sure to check and get fresh duck eggs, and not...

Is Aperol Gluten free?
Scott Adams replied to Thomas Ludi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I see this on this site: “IS APEROL GLUTEN FREE? Yes, Aperol is gluten free and suitable for coeliacs. It does not contain any cereals containing gluten, nor is it manufactured on any shared equipment.“ https://www.aperolspritzsocials.com/articles/nutritional-information/ -
Is Aperol Gluten free?
Scott Adams replied to Thomas Ludi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would say probably, but I could not tell for sure when looking at their site which says it’s a “fortified wine.” Wine is gluten-free, and their site says: “An infusion of ingredients including oranges, herbs and roots which make a perfectly balanced combination.” https://www.aperol.com/en-us/the-world-of-aperol/aperol-product-credentials To be... -
You’re correct that the endoscopy could not accurately rule out celiac disease if you had been gluten-free in the months before it was done, and your gastro should have known this...did you tell them you were gluten-free beforehand? Did they even ask? From you description you could have gluten sensitivity, but the proper way to rule out celiac disease w...
