Carol, I am still undecided about what I am going to do. I am working on getting some insurance right now, and then I think I am going to try one last time to get a doctor to listen and test me (if by that time I am willing to start eating gluten again...who knows I may feel so good that I decide not to). I am just afraid that because of the fact that...

ARCHIVED Is There A Jra/celiac Connection?
Niteyx13 replied to HeidiLeigh29's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I always have to say first that I am undiagnosed, because I do not want to mis-lead anyone. Although, I am absolutely positive that I have celiac disease. I was diagnosed with JRA at age two. I grew slowly...I was still under 5 foot, around 90 pounds, and without a period until 15 years old. Constipation started for me in highschool, getting progressively... -
P.S. I have also suffered from anxiety disorder/acute depression since my late teens.

I realize I am responding to an older post, but I read the article and got chills. I have had nightmares more then most people on and off my whole life. Many as a child, the coming back on hard core the last few years. I had two instances of sleep paralysis about a year ago now. One was in the day time, and I was sleeping on my back and I thought someone...

ARCHIVED Buffalo Style Hot Wings
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I had to add a follow up reply. I went and bought the Frank's sauce, and made buffalo wings for dinner tonight. Oh, Wow! They are soooooo good. If anyone here loves buffalo wings you must try Richards idea. Thanks Richard! Deanna -
ARCHIVED Feeling Better/feeling Sick
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, me again. I found some spaghetti noodles that are made from Rice at Sprouts, and if you cook them long enough they really don't taste much different from regular noodles. So, we can have spaghetti...yay! =) About the cheese, from what I have been told...already shredded cheese is a no-no, because they add stuff to it so it won't cake. I heard that... -
Sunday will mark 3 weeks that I have attempted to be on a totally gluten free diet. I have found that I messed up at least 3 times. Once I had an ihop omelet (which I found out later has pancake batter in it), and other times I was eating shredded cheese, and I forgot and took communion without thinking (duh!). When I get to where I am really hungry I find...

Seems everyone's stories run the same. I am still undiagonosed, but on a gluten-free diet, because even though my doctor "poopooed" testing me she said "cutting down on "carbs" may help me feel better and lose weight" as she is writing me yet another IBS medication Rx (I am 115 pounds - I don't need to lose weight!). I don't think she has any clue how serious...

ARCHIVED Malt Flavoring
Niteyx13 replied to Ashley462's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for clearing that up. When someone notes "Rice Krispies" I naturally think of Kellog's Rice Krispies, because it was not clarified. I am new to all this so bear with me...=). Thanks! -
I am also in the Phoenix area, and I have had nothing but the "Oh, it's IBS, here's a Rx for you" junk." I am interested in finding a specialist in this area also, or at least someone who will listen to my problems. Thanks! Deanna

ARCHIVED Malt Flavoring
Niteyx13 replied to Ashley462's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I read it in a supposed gluten-free recipe (for Rice Krispie treats), and I also saw it on a "gluten-free shopping list" that I printed off the internet. I never bought them, though, because I saw "malt flavoring" on the label. Maybe I should call the company and find out what kind of malt flavoring it is. I would love to be able to have Rice Krispie treats... -

ARCHIVED Buffalo Style Hot Wings
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Oh, that is what I figured. That is gonna be a hard one to give up: Native New Yorker! But, I will just make my own (and I always eat mine with ranch...yummm). They may not be as good, but I am sure I will figure out something close. Thanks! Deanna -
Does anyone know if there is gluten in hot wings? I know that some; if not all, contain soy sauce - but I don't know what else. I wrote The Native New Yorker about their ingredients and I guess they didn't think me an important customer because they didn't write me back (too bad for them cuz I used to eat there all the time). Any recipes? Any places that...

I have so many questions: I hope you all don't get sick of me running around the message boards throwing them in. I was curious about toothpaste. I read somewhere that Crest is gluten free; which is what I use, but it is some teeth whitening kind. I am undiagnosed so I don't know if my toothpaste problem is related or not, but whenever I brush my teeth...

ARCHIVED Undiagnosed
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Wow, thank you all are the great responses. Gretchen I know how you feel with the anti-anxiety and/or depression meds. I have been on prozac, paxil, zoloft, xanex, and they all made me either sick, or feel worse. They keep switching me around, and I eventually just stopped trying to take them all together. I started praying alot more and I learned ways to... -

ARCHIVED Undiagnosed
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My husband and I do have some savings, and could probably afford the blood test, although I really have no idea how much they are. If I could get a doctor to pay attention. They almost act as if I make things up, especially when I tell them I am so tired. Has anyone else had this problem? I saw another post on here after I posted mine about kinda the same... -
I will try to make this as short as possible. I got pregnant when I was 17, almost 18. At this time in my life I became exhausted all the time, and was diagnosed with hypo-thyroidism. I have continued to be constantly tired, and I was diagnosed with IBS about a year ago. I was diagnosed with juvenille rhumaoid arthritis at 2 years of age, and I was also...

ARCHIVED Flavored Coffee Creamer?
Niteyx13 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well, I am new to this forum, and not even 2 weeks into a Gluten free diet. I have found myself constantly hungry and very very confused about what contains gluten and what doesn't. Does someone out there know if it is okay to drink Coffee Mate falvored creamer? I was also curious about butter (which I am pretty sure is a NO-NO). Any help is apprieated, and...
