ARCHIVED So Much To Deal With Right Now...
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just thought I would update everyone about my mom and my gluten diet. My mom had a bi-lateral mastectomy on monday (because the cancer she had had a high rate of showing up on the other side and she only wanted to do this once). Her lymph nodes were clear, praise God! Now she is just recovering from it all, and doing a wonderful job of it all. She is one... -
I won't take iron, I am constipated enough as it is! lol I did have some problems with anemia with my pregnancies, but not since. However, I have not been tested for a long time either, so maybe I will bring it up with the doctor. Thanks! <~~my daughter's choices...hehe

ARCHIVED Serotonin Increase/cortisol Decrease
Niteyx13 replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Do you drink caffeine? I have noticed that it makes my anxiety worse (even though I still drink it - I drink it less than I once did). I have also found that if I get my mind on something else, that helps. Things like reading, praying, working out help me a lot. I was on meds once, and I don't blame you for not wanting to be on them. -
I have been tested for diabetes, and they have told me I could have some hypoglycemia (spelling?). Yes, I found that I wasn't drinking as much when I was gluten-free, but I didn't realize it until I started on gluten again. My thirst is always for water too, nothing else helps it. I actually suffer from terribly bad constipation, not diarreha. My other symptoms...

A lot of you know I have gone back on gluten for a time to be tested. I have noticed since going back on it; aside of feeling just horrible, that I am constantly thristy all the time. Now this is a symptom I had before going gluten-free, and it went away when I was gluten-free, but I didn't even notice it was gone until going back on gluten and finding that...

Your tyroid is a gland in your throat area that produces certain hormones. Hormones that have to do with metobolism, and other stuff I know nothing about...lol. Yes, it is a blood test, and they correct it with a medicine. Your thyroid can be low or high. Low, you are usually sleepy among other things, and high you are hyper and it is harder to sleep. However...

ARCHIVED Hiya. Gi Or Cd?
Niteyx13 replied to Mydnyt's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have run into some pretty decent pizza crust recipes. I even found some gluten-free waffles that I didn't have to choke down! Just keep looking around at stores, and online, there are some good gluten-free bread or bread type foods out there. So, don't mourn the pizza too much! =) -
ARCHIVED Am I Crazy? Non-compliance...
Niteyx13 replied to dustina's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This is a new way to look at the disease. When I found out about celiac disease I was almost in tears at the relief of knowing that there is a possible answer to my sickness and chronic fatigue. At 28 years old I am way too young to be feeling so crappy, and for such a long time - 10 years! Not eating gluten sucks, but feeling sick, lethargic, extremely tired... -
ARCHIVED Sick Already...
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, like I have said in another post, my problem is that for my ex husband to allow my son to be tested I have to have a positive test myself. He won't go off of what I think, and a doctor may "expect". Gretchen, I am not even having an endo. I am only at the blood test, because I have pretty much self diagnosed myself. This was after my first cousin... -
ARCHIVED Sick Already...
Niteyx13 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yesterday was my first day to go back on gluten so that I can have my blood test. I am sooooo sick today. I have had diarrhea all day, and my head feels like it is out in outer space somewhere (anyone else get that?), I am also almost dizzy at times. Since I have been gluten-free for 2 months, but with 4 or 5 mistakes how long would you all say I need to... -
ARCHIVED Think Husband And 2 Yr Old Son Have Celiac
Niteyx13 replied to kathyhay's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Kathy, Before going gluten-free I was like your husband in many ways, especially with sleeping anytime, and anywhere. It only took a few days on the gluten-free diet to change my sleep patterns to where I had a very very hard time sleeping. And, I have heard this from other people. Yet, I still don't feel very well in my tummy. It sounds to me like your... -
What is transubstantiation? I know very little about catholism, so I am curious. Deanna

It would be awesome to have full custody of my son. Yes, my ex is a moron, but unfortunately the state of Arizona is a state big on joint custody, and being a moron doesn't disqualify you as a fit parent. It is a thought, though, if he is diagnosed...lol. His dad will have to learn A LOT to take care of him the correct way with the disease. We'll just have...

My periods have always been a monster. Lasting 6-7 days, heavy flow - especially the first 3, cramps that have sent me to bed, and PMS like mad! I have only been gluten-free for 2 months, but since this time my periods have been worse, if that is possible! lol...I just got one saturday and I was sick that day, in fact I stayed home from church which never...

I am a non-denominational Christain and we take communion in church every week. We coincider it very important, not in the belief that it will bring us closer to the Lord, but because we feel we need to remember what Christ did for us more than just a couple of times a year and on Easter. So, it is not just catholics that find it special. We have a very nice...

I know about Entrolab. I am afraid that without a doctor's diagnosis my ex- husband would not accept it. I have to pray that he does even with a diagnosis. He already told me he doesn't want "our son's life to have limitations". Which is really stupid if you think about it, because if he is a celiac and he doesn't eat right his life will have limitations...

As some of you know I am undiagnosed. I have been on the gluten-free diet for 2 months now, and have felt quite a bit better. I have learned to eat on it very well, etc... I went to the doctor today. I had planned on seeing my old one (because I needed a thyroid blood check), and it turned out he has finished his internship, or whatever, and is now gone...

Hello all. There is a celiac on E-bay that sells 300+ recipes in file form on E-bay. I don't remember her user name, but I bought that cookbook from her a month ago for like $4 (I can't remember the exact amount, but it was really cheap). Then we just printed it off and put them in a 3 ring binder. I have used a lot of the recipes in it, and she also has...

ARCHIVED 1 Week Gluten Free
Niteyx13 replied to lilliexx's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I totally had those symptoms. The insomnia was terrible, and I still have it. I take Tylenol or Ibuprofen at night just so I can sleep. The headaches finally went away, though. I also had and still have some days really bad acid reflux that I didn't have before. It's weird, but in my opinion normal from what I have heard from others. Deanna -
I have a hard time believing anything that says when you were born effects this that and the other thing. But, that was interesting to look at, and I do not have any of the August problems. In fact, I looked up most of my family members month of birth and I didn't find a single one that fit. We have never been known to be normal though.... Deanna

I know this is could be completely unrelated, but I used to get an inchy painful rash around my arm pits. I eventually discovered that I was allergic to secret deodorant. So, I would definately check out the products you use on your face.

ARCHIVED Dealing With Other People's Reactions?
Niteyx13 replied to sunflower's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Rian, That is such an unfair thing for someone to say to you; and for your daughter, about taking cupcakes to school. Just because she has celiac doesn't mean she shouldn't not be able to do the things other kids do. If the kids don't like them then they don't have to eat them. Some kids probably won't even notice a difference. I agree with you about people... -
I ate Panda Express' rice one day, and just had plain veggies (I of course made sure there was no soy sauce or anything else on it). It was kinda bland, but I was fine afterward. I have a bad habit of not eating breakfast, and if I get out doing something I will go until I am so hungry I feel like passing out. Yes, I know this in unhealthy and as I am writing...

ARCHIVED Wendy's New "atkin's Friendly" Food
Niteyx13 replied to Niteyx13's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
There was nothing about their new food period, not just whether it was gluten-free or not. Which I think it kinda weird, it is not very hard to add to a web site...at least I don't think it is. -
Hi all...I have seen an ad for some new stuff Wendy's is making for Atkin's diet. They actually look pretty good. But, I went on their web site and could find nothing about the new stuff. Does anyone happen to know if they are safe? I am probably asking this pre-maturely since it is so new that it is not on their site, but I thought I would see if anyone...
