  1. Does anyone know if all the Pantene shampoo & conditioners are gluten free? I read that on Jan. 2008, they were. Any changes that anyone knows of? Thanks... keeping my fingers crossed!!!
  2. Hi! Wow, it sounds like you guys have been through a lot. Your child sure is lucky to have you as a parent. I always say that if a pediatrician is hesitant on giving you a referral to a GI or to run tests, find a new Dr! My other idea would be a homeopath. My ds sees one and they REALLY try to get down to ROOT of all issues. Sometimes insurance doesn't cover...
  3. Does anyone have a recent list of safe craft/art supplies & school supplies?
  4. Oh, absolutely! It can cause all sorts of emotional issues, learning issues, health issues, etc. Nothing I hear surprises me in relation to Celiac!
  5. Hi! I went and checked out Lavera's website, since I heard they were gluten free. It even says so on their front page but in their shampoos, "hydrolyzed wheat protein" in an ingredient. So, I called to ask. They said that the gluten ingredient was removed from the wheat germ oils & that it is gluten-free. I didn't know that was possible. Is it? My dh...
  6. Your best bet is to have him completely cleaned out, so I'd do whatever the GI suggests. My ds had a grueling 48hr. liquid diet, 2 adult size enemas & laxatives. Not a good experience at all. I know what you mean about being nervous. The actual scope was the easiest out of anything ds has had done. (((HUGS))) It'll be done quick & smoothly...
  7. Hi! First of all, HUGS to you for going through this. Having gone through this myself with my ds (who's almost 4) I know how emotionally stressful it is. With that said, I think that yes, he could have Celiac and just not have a body response right away. It all depends on the person. Some people eat gluten (while having Celiac attacks before) & have no...
  8. I was going to suggest the same thing. I also agree with the previous posters.... sometime they're just too sensitive to it. Quinoa flakes are pretty good! We also love the gluten free hot rice cereals! I hope your little guy feels better soon!!!
  9. 3 years old is too young to really grasp the idea of not eating gluten, don't you think? My son is 4 and while I think he's grasping it, if I weren't in the room, I think he'd eat gluten. Maybe next time have some gluten free mac n cheese for the friend! And YAY for a healthy report. Isn't that the greatest feeling in the world for a Mommy? Great job...
  10. I really do suggest that you get them tested. At least have them do the blood draw. It's so simple & quick. I think as individuals, the kids have the right to "know" whether or not they do have Celiac disease or not. I would strongly suggest against them doing the diet without testing. Later on they would have to endure months of eating gluten in order...
