  1. Go to a GI.You may have more serious issues than Celiac Diesease. I was Gluten Free for 5 months( after + blood work and + biopsy)- felt worse than ever until I was put on Prednisone. My GI ran a IBD test and it came back positive for Chrons. I feel better now and have gained back 10 lbs. I still can't eat Soy,Dairy,Corn, and Gluten. Also Fruit bothers...
  2. teneil I'm glad PD is working for you and you trust the company. I have tried many products labeled gluten-free and have spent plenty of wasted hours in the bathroom dealing with the aftermath. Maybe I'm just a little less trusting when I see the words oat and barley on the label. Grass or no grass. I recently tried a digestive product labeled gluten...
  3. I've been reading the ingedients for primal defense and it says- Organic "Superfoods" Matrix (spirulina, chlorella, dunaliella, kamut grass, barley grass, oat grass, alfalfa grass) Is this product Celiac safe?
  4. Just had an ultrasound and they found what looks like a polyp or it may be a stone in my gall bladder. So I'm off to see the surgen. I've been having a dull pain on my right side just under my last 2 ribs that move from front to back. I

  6. Gillian For the first 2 weeks I was taking 40 mg of Prednisone I slept only 3 hours a night-I also got a nasty cold/flu. I was very hungry and ate all the time( a good thing for me). The thing is I didn't realize how long it takes to get off Prednisone. When all is said and done It will take around 4 -5 months. The side effects at the moment (10 mgs a...
  7. Sorry to hear about that. I found out that I have Celiac D and Crohns about a month ago. I was very bummed when I was told and I'm still down about it. Not really sure how to react to news like that. All the bad side effects that can happen down the road run through my head and it depresses me. I'm 34 and having both of these diseases seems like a lot of...

  11. Karina -Irritation was found in my colon during my colonoscopy-My GI felt that it may be Crohns or just irritation from being so sick with the Celiac thing. So it was try the diet first and see what happens. 3 months, not feeling much better, my GI ordered a blood test for Crohns anti bodies, similar to Celiac panel just looking for different anti...

Not sure if I'm allowed in here But My family is loaded! Me-Celiac & Crohns Mother tests high on blood work for Celiac Sprue- My Sister has mirror symptoms as me without weight loss-she refuses to get tested so I've given up trying. 14. Karina, Don't worry about the colonoscopy, you won't feel a thing. The night before was interesting but not a big deal. With any luck you just have sprue and the diet is all you have to do. Feel free to track me down! Good luck. Jhmom I kind of new something else was wrong. My GI told me he saw some irritation after my colonoscopy that may be the...
  15. Well I just got the news from my GI that he's 90% sure I have Crohns on top of having Celiac Sprue I recently was given a script for Prednisone and within a week all my GI issues are for the most part gone. I still have a pain on my right side under my last rib that comes and goes but other that that I feel physically beter than I have in the past 7 months...
  16. HappyCat22 My anxiety/depression has gotten better overall but I still have days when I am really down. Looking back 6 months, I was a lot worse off than I am now. It sometimes seem like thing are not improving fast enough. Constantly being on "high alert" looking for bathrooms and just feeling sick and run down all the time did have a major role in shaping...
  17. Sorry to hear that. I recently got back my seconded test and while it was lower my Doc told me that I was still getting gluten from somewhere. Other than some enriched rice I was eating I can't think of anything that I was eating that could contain gluten. I was pretty pissed when I left the office. This is a very frustrating diet! I really wish that...
  18. The Vertigo and shaking are pretty much gone since going gluten-free. Prior to celiac disease diagnosis and going gluten-free the Vertigo would come and go. Sometimes would have it come and go for a week then not happen again for 3 months. The Shaking was a very strange feeling like every cell in my body was dancing around inside of me. It usually...

  20. Richard, Thanks for the info. I've actually been drinking Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea( recommended by dietitian) and it does help.
  21. Soy is on my watch list. I haven't isolated it yet but most of the time I eat anything with soy I get a similar reaction as you. I use Pacific Almond Milk and haven't had any issues. It is gluten-free. It's very good and a excellent source of calcium. What is DgL?
  22. Cheryl I have had bad reaction to Midel cookies. Not sure why but it may be the Soy and I think there is yeast in them. Also the fiber in those cookies is through the roof! The last thing I need is more fiber. I tend to eat to many so that doesn't help.
  23. It took 3 visits to my PCP to get blood work and he told me I had celiac disease. I was so sick I thought I had a stomach virus. I had lost 10 lbs by my third visit so I think he caught on. But talking to my GI he told me if I hadn't been so sick it probably wouldn't have been picked up on. My problem now is my GI (whom I like and respect) keeps hinting...
