How exciting, I'm 19 and this whole grey hair business for the past 4 years has been a pain. -
ARCHIVED A Non Dairy Cheese Thats Really Dairy Free?
Racheleona replied to Racheleona's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay, thanks for your suggestions, I saw in parenthisis next to Casein (Milk Protein) on the soy cheese. I thought this is what lactose intolerant people can't digest? I honestly don't know if I have an allergy to dairy or intolerance, just know my stomach doesn't agree, I've been tested for an allergy with a IgG blood test, and it showed very low sensitivity... -
ARCHIVED Question On How To Read Bloodwork.
Racheleona replied to Alexolua's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
wow, reading others blood results that have been posted on here, makes me think do I really have celiac disease? My results were IgG 20, IgA negative, and Ttg negative. My doctor considered that number of 20 to be enough for me to be gluten intolerant...now I'm questioning. I guess it is better to trial it with the diet and go by how I feel! Rachel -
ARCHIVED A Non Dairy Cheese Thats Really Dairy Free?
Racheleona posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has found a soy, rice, etc. cheese that is actually dairy free? (and gluten free obviously) Today at the store I was reading the ingredients and all of them contained milk protein! You'd think the consumers of the soy cheeses are ones that are allergic to dairy or vegans, whom can't consume any dairy! I don't understand... -

Hi Brenda, I have been on betaine HCl for almost 3 years, because I had a stomach acid test done, and I have almost none. According to my doctor that is common with Celiac. Almost all of the people at my clinic take it, and it helps to absorb nutrients. In fact my doctor has many articles he has written on it...here is one Open Original Shared Link ... -
ARCHIVED What Do The Numbers Mean?
Racheleona replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I do consider those numbers very high...mine was 20, and my doctor considered this enough to go gluten free, and a number of 0-19 is negative result for gluten sensitivity...above 40 I believe is a strong positive... Rachel -
ARCHIVED Hello Everyone

Tiffany, my tests for my hormones did show that I was VERY low, my doctor said if he hadn't looked at my age he would've thought I was an older woman going through menopause. He is now giving me natural hormones (progesterone, testosterone, T-estrogen) to get my levels up, and hopefully bring a period. So low body fat causes low estrogen? Or celiac disease... -

Tiffany, I guess your right about Thanksgiving being easier, but it is the fact of getting my family to not buy canned yams that have gluten, turkey, stuffing etc. And oh my will I miss that pumpkin pie! And I will watch out for sales on groceries...but do you find gluten free items cheaper on any websites? (Also side note; I emailed info@celiac.com a... -

hi Coolcat, wow the iron injectios started your periods again??? My doctor hasn't mentioned that, the other doctor that I left due to frustration put me on light birth control for 2 months and I did menstruate. Before that she kept telling me to gain weight (previous to losing my periods I weighed 40 lbs. more! I got down to 100 lbs in 5 months) and she... -

Thank you so much for your suggestions! Thats great that Outback has a gluten free menu, I hope more restaurants take up the same idea. I've already had an event happen that made me cry again, I had a guy ask me out on a date to dinner, and I had to turn him down, because I didn't think I would be able to eat at any restaurants. I will have to spend time... -

Hi Mysuicidalturtle, I love apples and bananas, I have tried the gluten free bread and really don't care for it : (, but I guess I could make wraps out of corn tortillas instead of sandwiches. Does just eating fruit keep you full? I get hungry quick after only eating fruit...(I guess peanut butter with them would add protein and prevent hunger for a little... -

Hello stargirl, Thanks for all of your suggestions! I also am lactose intolerant so I can't have the cheese : ( My mom suggested that I could take soup for lunch as well, ( some of the organic canned soups are gluten and dairy free) or just take deli meat. This diet is going to be so hard for me considering my favorite foods are all what I can't eat, sandwiches... -
Hello, I just posted in the post diagnosis section, and then saw there was this teens only section, I just turned 19, and after 6 years of troubles with my health, my doctor and I have come to a conclusion to go gluten free since I display many symptoms, including having no menstration for almost 2 years! I really hope going gluten free will help correct...

Thank you everyone for your replies, I guess it does make sense that since I have been basically absorbing nothing, that I would not have my period, I really hope that I am not infertile though once I menstruate again ( I have not had a period for almost 2 years now) I really want children. Whats really odd though, is before I was losing all this weight I... -

Hello Everyone, I had posted on here once before on my confusion of whether my test results showed that I was positive for Celiac Disease, well I had my Dr. visit with Jonathan Wright today (top notch doctor on celiac disease) and found out I do have low"gluten sensitivity" and do have to go gluten and dairy free for the rest of my life, which will hopefully... -
Hi guys, I was wondering the same thing...(I'm not sure if I'm celiac, being that I haven't discussed my labs with my dr. yet, but he told me before the lab to do the gluten-free diet anyways) but, I am a ballet dancer, and am finding myself constantly hungry, snacking on veggies, fruits, and even just nuts.

ARCHIVED Antibodie Test
Racheleona replied to Racheleona's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Even though the one's positive, I think you're right, I have been gluten free for 2 weeks, (with one mishap of licking an envelope) and haven't noticed a difference. Iam not sure what you mean by strict, but I have been mainly eating eggs, health valley corn chex with Pacific brand rice milk, organic turkey, bacon, and chicken, plain rice, raw veggies and... -

Hi, I'm a nineteen year old thats been through battles trying to figure out my health problems for years. My doctor did a test for the antibodies necessary to diagnose celiac disease(which I had not even heard of until my first visit with this doctor last month!and has lead me to researching the disease)Anyhow, I just got the results back in the mail and...
