  1. They do I my family. We have symptoms ranging from chronic ears infections, red cheeks and ears and late bed wetting to self limiting to dairy and autistic mannerisms. It only takea four days for a food to completely clear the body. Then when you eat the food, first thing on an empty stomach, the reaction is very obvious.
  2. I take grapefruit seed extract when I travel. It can stop montazuma's revenge in an hour.
  3. How many ear infections has he had? After antibiotics he should be on probiotics for a month to repopulate his good flora. In my family, ear infections are one symptom of our milk intolerance. I'd probably take out milk for four days (rice milk is a great replacement, soy is also a highly allergic food) and see if that cuts the D. If not then I'd remove...
  4. Anything metal can just be washed well. They say plastic cutting boards should be replaced.
  5. I suggest "Brain Allergies" by William Philpott. He is a practicing Psychiatrist that cured a variety of mental differences by elimatinating foods and/or environmental stimulants (like natural gas, mold etc). Keeping a detailed food and behaviour diary may show some associations. Being that PANDAS seems to come on after an infection, I'd suggest probiotics...
  6. Eosinophilic Esophagitis is a symptom of a food sensitivity, not a diagnosis. If she's been off gluten this whole time the next candidates are: dairy, corn, soy, peanuts, treenuts and nightshades but any food sensitivity can cause the swelling that results in Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Testing for food allergies is unreliable, and reactions can take up to...
  7. Quality carbs are very important too. I try to keep a variety of healthy muffins in the freezer, carrot-zucchini, carrot-pineapple, sweet potato etc made with whole gluten free flours, nuts, flax and chia. They are quick to grab and go and make a great snack or breakfast too.
  8. In my experience, testing is very unreliable. The best idea, from my perspective, is to remove gluten and see how they react. If it clears up the symptoms (which are pretty classic gluten intolerance symptoms, by the way) then you've got your answer without invasive and unreliable testing.
  9. If he doesn't have any other symptoms of sickness, I'd assume what's coming out now was blocked by gluten induced constipation. I'd only take him to a Doctor if he shows signs of dehydration like listlessness or wrinkled fingers and toes or if it keeps up for longer than a few days personally.
  10. I soak almonds in water over night then grind them with coconut milk, an avocado, some cocoa, a banana, a handful of spinach and some ground flax or chia for a tasty and nutritious breakfast or snack (honey to taste). I use leftovers for making fudgsicles. My grandson loves a pate I make by sauting a small steak and veggies with tons of garlic. I add a...
  11. My grandson's fontanel swelled past his skull at 10 months. They did a spinal tap to check for menegitis and took more fluid than they needed to as a "treatment" for the raised fontanel. They talked about doing more of them to relieve pressure if they needed to. We took him off gluten shortly after that because we found out his Mom was gluten intolerant....
  12. You may want to look into supplementing her with Glutamine (contains no gluten) an amino acid that plays an important role in gut-wall integrity and probiotics which will help with healing and maintaining good flora to minimize reactions.
  13. I agree, all the symptoms of both girls are classic for gluten intolerance. Removing dairy for a few months is a good idea at first to speed healing as they are a similiar protein.
  14. I agree, you need a new Doctor. Celiac disease is one manifestation of gluten intolerance. My symptoms are depression and memory loss, my daughters thyroid gets sluggish, her hair falls out and she gets depressed, her son has seizures and my Dad has arthritis. They are all symptoms of gluten intolerance and none of us has a positive blood test for celiac...
  15. You've got nothing to lose by a gluten free trial. You'll know within four days if its going to make a difference.
  16. We see tantrums from gluten, dairy, corn and soy in our four year old. Dairy and soy are the worst.
  17. Sure sounds like you've covered all of the bases. Could it be another food intolerance? The other most likely candidates are: dairy, soy, corn, eggs, nuts, additives and food colourings, nightshades and coconut/palm. Keeping a food/symptom diary is often the only way to track down intolerances. When nothing is standing out they suggest simplifying...
  18. Dairy is a similiar protein and should be eliminated too for treating ADHD. His behaviour is worse because he's suffering from withdrawal and it will improve within a couple of days as it takes four days for a food to completely clear your system.
  19. It could definately be gluten intolerance. Testing is very inaccurate and time consuming so I'd suggest removing gluten to see if it helps. As intolerance effects absorption, he would no doubt benefit from a good multistrain probiotic to replentish his flora and a good multivitamin.
  20. Are there any other symptoms? What was happening when the fever started? Could it be a tickborn infection? Fevers are the bodies way of fighting infection. I'd give her a good multistrain probiotic and oil of oregano three times a day until she's better.
  21. The red cheeks are a sign of allergy and gluten is the obvious place to start. Gluten and dairy in his Mom's breastmilk caused awful colic in my grandson. I would wait until after she was a year old then give gluten a try and watch for reactions, keeping in mind the reaction can take up to two days and may be behavioural
  22. It sounds like she may have other food intolerances and needs some supplementing too. The most likely food suspects after gluten are: dairy, eggs, soy, corn, yeast, nuts, peanuts and legumes and nightshades. I would definately put her on a good probiotic to help re-populate with good bacteria and get a good multivitamin, I like the Rainbow line, personally...
  23. Testing for food intolerances is highly unreliable. Every BODY is different and reacts differently to intolerated foods. The most common problem food are gluten, dairy, soy, corn, eggs, nuts, peanuts and nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant). Food colouring, aspertame and msg are also common triggers so watch labels for them too. I'd...
  24. Ear issues in my family are an intolerance to dairy. My sister and daughter had many many ear infections as a result of this intolerance. I just removed dairy from my diet 5 months ago and I can hear out of my right ear which I couldn't before and never really noticed except when I used the phone. Removing wheat lead an immediate behaviour improvement...
