My IgA level before going gluten-free was a 19, after a year it was a 21. My son has been gluten-free for almost a year and his IgA is a 40. Is 40 for and IgA normal or low? Do you think it could be 40 because he has been gluten-free for a year? He still reacts to gluten, my mom accidentally gave him toast the other day and he is now constipated and complaining...

I will be going back to Pensacola in December and need to find places that we can eat around there. We will be in Fort Walton, Destin, pensacola and Panama City sometime during our trip so I could uses places to eat and heath food stores that have gluten free goodies. I will be staying at a hotel with a stove and fridge so I am looking to eat out once a day

I am in town for the weekend and I am looking for somewhere to take my son to lunch today. We are both gluten free so I need it somewhat kid friendly and also not to pricey. Thanks

ARCHIVED Great Value Soy Sauce
SAHM2one posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am so sad, I went to Walmart today to pick up some more soy sauce and on the new white label it now says wheat. I don't like La Choy so I will have to find another soy sauce that I can actually get where I live. I emailed walmart and told them how much I dislike this change. -
I am going to start training for a century cycling ride and am trying to find energy bars that I can use while riding. My problem is that they not only have to be gluten free but also no more than 10grams of fat or sugar.

We are planning a small trip up to the DC area later this year but I am trying to figure out the budget right now so I am looking at places that are safe to eat at. My son is also gluten free and will turn 3 on the trip. We will be staying in Alexandria, VA and be taking the metro to DC to take him to the zoo, aquarium and some museums. Do you know of...

I like mine with sauce, sausage, mushrooms and lots of cheese. Thanks for the recipes, I am going to try and make on in a few weeks, have to get a few more flours to pull it off.

I am craving a hot stromboli! I have only been gluten free for about 3 months and so far have not had any cravings that I couldn't "fix" with something gluten free. I have no clue how to make a stromboli though. I bought an Amy's pizza a couple weeks ago but the crust wasn't very good. How do you handle cravings that you can't "fix"?? Part of me wants...

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Thanksgiving
SAHM2one replied to SAHM2one's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I understand! We are not having Christmas dinner this year with my ILs because I am just really uncomfortable with what they would fix. At 2 Jackson doesn't get why he can't have cake or gravy. I don't want everyone Holiday ruined because of a temper tantrum over food. We are just going to go over after dinner. -
This is going to be mine and my son's first holiday gluten free and my family has agreed to an entire gluten free meal. My job is to come up with recipes for the dishes. We always have the same things so I am trying really hard to find things that will wow them and not turn them away from gluten foods. If anyone can help me find recipes I would be very...

ARCHIVED Board Books For 18 Month Old Child
SAHM2one replied to hannahaugust's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Ask before I eat is a personalized allergy book. I am getting it for my 2 year old for Christmas. basically it is a book you can put pictures in to help them learn what they can't eat. -
A little over a month ago Jackson was in 18 month clothes and his 24 month shirts covered his hands and were dragging the floor. Today he has gained almost 1 pound off gluten and his 18 month pants are way to short, some of 24 month shirts barely hit his wrist and the pants are barely long enough. If I had to guess I would say since I pulled him off gluten...

ARCHIVED Hay Ride
SAHM2one replied to SAHM2one's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I called to see if the hay ride used hay or straw and then asked what the source of the straw was. I don't know how sensitive Jackson is. he has had gluten 2 times since he went gluten free but that was during the first week we pulled him off gluten. Now that he has been gluten free for around 6 weeks I am not sure what he will do and I really don't want... -
ARCHIVED Hay Ride
SAHM2one replied to SAHM2one's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That is what I figured. I called today and talked to them and they said the only accommodation they could make was to let us lay a blanket down for us to sit on. The parade of lights is a great idea, I may do that next year, I am not sure how well he would be able to really see the house RFing. Thanks again -
I think I already know the answer to this but I thought I would come here and ask all of you anyway. I really want to take my son in a few weeks to this farm that has some great Christmas lights. Problem is that you have to see the lights by the hay ride and they use wheat straw. So is there a safe way to do this? He is 2!

ARCHIVED Loosing Weight And Gluten Free
SAHM2one posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My son has been gluten free for 2-3 weeks now, I really can't keep track anymore. He is more like a typical 2 year old boy now, temper tantrums and loads of energy. He is also pooping daily on his own in the first time since he was 2 weeks old. Everything seems to be doing great except the weight. He is loosing weight. His distended belly is going down so... -
ARCHIVED Lunches For The Week

I would love the pizza, apple crisp and pumpkin recipe! -
Plans have changed and now I am looking for the best place to eat gluten-free in the Chapel Hill Raleigh area. Price is an issue so nothing to ritzy, think Outback as the most expensive. We are on a tight budget.

ARCHIVED I Think The Diet Is Working
SAHM2one posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Jackson, 2, has only been gluten free for 1 1/2 weeks but I am already seeing differences in him. He is no longer eating huge portions of food, he is not as irritable and easily upset and he hasn't had to have anything for almost a week to help him poop (he has been on something since he was 2 weeks old to help him). I am having fun making bento lunches for... -
I am trying to find a safe Mexican place to eat at. My anniversary is coming up and I would love to eat somewhere that is safe but not Outback. I am in Eastern NC and am looking for somewhere more in the Wilmington or even Raleigh area. We are also going to Costco that weekend! Also have you eaten at Carrabba's? I know they have a gluten free menu but...
