About Me

Born 10/31/1962, resident of Mattawan, MI.

Diagnosed with DH in June, 2008.

  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Also Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase field. I could not find them and was very disappointed, but did receive this reply from the D'backs public relations folks. Please see their response below: After reading some of the comments about our gluten-free offerings, I thought I could clear up some confusion. As a fellow gluten-free fan, I know how hard it can...
  3. My dermatologist used dapsone to confirm I had DH when the biopsy of a couple rash spots came back inconclusive. It is true that different people react differently to this drug. Before taking the drug I was regularly going for 4 mile runs. After a month of increasing dosages from 50mg to 100mg, my stamina was reduced to maybe 4 minutes of jogging. I...
  4. Returned from Cozumel on 1/4/2009. Great trip and no problems what so ever with the diet, except a slight tinge on Montezuma's revenge. I only ate at the resort once and that is the only time I felt exposed to gluten. There may have been something in the lobster soup (which was terrible) or something on the bistec. Otherwise, we ate at local restaurants...
  5. I have DH and just got back from a trip to the Carribean (Cozumel, Mexico). Prior to the trip I had several itchy spots that wouldn't go away on my shins and hands. These areas had been itching for many months. After a couple days in Mexico ... I had no itching what so ever, and I'm sure it wasn't just from drinking tequila. My thought is that swimming...
  6. Within 48 hours of removing regular Reeses Peanut Butter cups from my diet, most of the DH rashes on my hands have disappeared. These rashes had persisted for months and I had averaged eating two Reeses (4 cups) daily up until 12/08/2008. I made no other changes to my diet other than removing Reeses. Sorry to say, but my experience leads me to believe...
  7. I am new to the gluten free world. DH was diagnosed this year with symptoms existing for less than one year (extremely itchy patches on skin). It seems my sensitivity has increased dramatically in the past few months and I have cut all gluten that I can see out of my diet. I have existed on Reeses for 20 years, but now suspect these may have gluten...
  8. Nanny B, Thanks for taking the time to reply. That is useful information, for sure. We're staying at Sol Melia which is All Inclusive as well, but in the past I have always opted out of that and dined in town. That was before this gluten free business however:( It is a great suggestion to dine in the same place where you will become familiar with...
  9. Hi Nanny B, I hope you're still out there. I just found this site and will be staying in Cozumel the week of Dec 28, 2008. Did you have any luck finding gluten free options during your stay? I won't be heading to Cancun, just staying on the island. Thanks, Ted R
  10. Hello, I will be travelling to Cozumel as well in Dec, 2008. I just found this website, but I was wondering if you are still out there and if you had any luck in finding gluten free options in Cozumel.
