Hi folks! Does anyone have a good gluten-free recipe for pie crust? I just made butter tarts with a gluten-free mix for pastry and it was so flaky my tarts are a mess! My hubby loves butter tarts, and I am hoping to find a gluten-free pastry recipe that will put me close to regular pie crust. Of course its the filling that counts though...

Hey girl, how are the drugs working for you?? They gave me meds during my second pregnancy too (I was sick as a dog the whole nine months) Unfortunately they made me sleep almost all of the time and my first daughter was just barely 2 at the time so there was NO way I could afford to sleep all day. If this is your first one then sleep away!!

Hi there. My mother is also Celiac and she has the worst case of Osteoporosis her Doctor said he has ever seen. ARCHIVED Celiac And Appropriate Diagnostic Methods
Twister2 replied to gardinersara's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi there! Im my experience with the medical community (GI specialists included), little seems to be known for certain about Celiacs. I tested negative serologically the first time I asked to be screened for Celiacs. Then in October I had positive antibodies and a negative biopsy despite every symptom in the book. Not to mention a mother and two sisters with... -
ARCHIVED Blood Tests
Twister2 replied to AMYGOS5970's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Tarnalberry..forgive me for seeming a little offensive in my post, but I too was caught off guard by hearing someone say that this is "not a terible disease". Don't you think that such a statement on this board could be considered insensitive?? Celiac or Gluten intolerant..it does not matter. My experience with this diease has been horrible. Both personally... -
Hi there! I also had horrible nausea and vomiting while I was pregnant. A good friend of mine who is a OB/Gyn nurse recommended Peppermint Tea. It helped a bit, and was comforting to me while I felt icky!! Hope You feel better soon! Twister2

ARCHIVED Totally Confused
Twister2 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi all. I am now officially confused about my condition. I tested positive for Gliadin Antibodies in October and I just recently had the Endoscopy which turned out to be negative. My GI told me that there was no evidence of Celiac disease on the Endo. I am now totally confused because I am sick as a dog EVERY time I eat anything with gluten in it. My mother... -
Wow....I have the little pimples in my hairline too and it never occured to me that this was a Celiac thing. What gluten free haircare products do you guys use?? I have been using Pantene for years and I'd rather not switch if I can help it!

HI all! I have been relatively gluten free for about 2 weeks now, but I still feel like am in the dark about being "totally" gluten free. How long did it take for you to get the gluten worked out in your diets? It seems like so many Celics sometimes disagree on some products that are "safe". Cheers! Twister2

Twister2 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi everyone! Does anyone have a link to a comprehensive safe/unsafe list? I have seen the one on this site, but I am still in the dark about things like cosmetics, lotions ect. I know that some safe lists include alot of things that still may be questionable because of cross contamination issues. Cheers! Twister 2 -

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone else has headaches with muscle weakness, difficulty concentrating and coordination problems. For the past few days I have had these symptoms and its beginning to scare me. I have not yet gone gluten free because I have not had my biopsy yet. My blood work was positive though. I am just wondering if this is part of Celiacs...

Twister2 replied to Roxyk's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sounds familiar! I have only known that I am Celiac for a week and when I told my Mother-in-law her response was "Oh well, just about everybody has that these days". We are going to visit them in a few months, and I have no idea how to cope with them while there. My mother-in-law is very insensitive obviously, so explaining to her the nature and effects of... -
