  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I have had 3 B12 shots now and the increase in Thyroid meds....Finally after more then 6 months of awful bone and muscle pain.....it is gone! Plus my sex drive is back, been in hiding for a very long time! Oh and the ant-acid med....No more side pain under my rib. This is awesome. My grill and I have really been getting to know eachother...Thankfully...
  3. So all seems to be going well. Had my Thyroid med increased again, started weekly B12 shots and the diet I am getting used to. My fatigue has dropped 50%....thank heavens. GI: I will have new blood work every 3 months and yearly scopings. Start taking the medication for Barretts which I did not even know I had....no real bad symptoms. Plus I need...
  4. Lisa, I did shop at Market Basket first. Thank goodness I did....was no need to go to Framingaham! I was so surprises to find not 1 but 3 Chex's cereals!! They also had the bread mixes on sales 2 for $6.00..not bad either! Would still love to go to a cooking class. When I go for my follow up the 15th I will ask if there is one at Umass. Amy Joe
  5. So far I like Dr Wassef at Umass in Worcester. He did my biopsy and seems pretty kind. He has answered all my questions so far. I go back on May 15th so I will update more on him then. Amy Joe
  6. I am also NEW, did my first grocery trip this week. I stuck to the outer isles first....fresh foods! Then wandered down the cereal and found 3 chex's that are gluten-free. Bought a couple gluten-free flour mixes and made my own bread, have it in the fridge and will last me a week. I found ALL corn soft taco shells in the dairy section and they make great...
  7. I am new to Celiac! Would love to go to a meeting of cooking class. I am in the North Central about 25 minuets north of Worcester......in Fitchburg. Is there anything near me!??? From what I can see looks like I would have to shop in Framingham. Hoping to find something closer to me. Thanks Amy Joe
  8. I have my medical alert ID bracelet. It is important for me with the brain surgery. My ????? do any of you feel it is important to list Celiac Disease? Mine needs updating and before I do, I want to know if I should be adding Celiac. Thanks Amy Joe
  9. I am fairly new to all of this so I don't have a lot of advice. Something you said TUCK with me as I was reading. About what your GP said....IBS and Acid Reflux.....live with it! WOW I thought I was the only person to win the lottery of a bad GP!! I was on Nexium when it first came out, Prilosac before that. The Nexium I had to take 2 times per day and...
  10. Thank you Patti! Everyone has really made me feel welcome. I am sure as I move along I am gonna have ???????'s. Amy Joe
  11. It's official! I started today. Doc asked if I need to visit with a dietitian before I go gluten free or wait till the 15th, see how I do....take notes and we can talk. I am gonna go at it and see how it goes then see him on the 15th. This will give me a chance to feel my way around and keep a log of questions for him. I did go online and found all...

It's like any profession. There are good and bad. EXCEPT we hold Dr's of any field to a much higher level of expectation and Dr's are much more reserved because of lawsuit's. Sad when you really think about it. I have noticed that a Dr in private practice is much more likely to want to try all kinds of NEW and IMPROVED drugs then those that are not...
  13. I found this site which lists ALL the colors. I would need a lot of them. . Open Original Shared Link Amy Joe
  14. Is there a symbol for Celiac such as the pink ribbon for breast cancer? I have not been able to find what it is.... Thanks Amy Joe

Wow are there some powerful statements on this post. I am new to having a GI. But I can really relate about Dr's and not believing what we have to say about our own bodies. Took me 35 months of declining neurological health before my surgery and even at that I had to do 90% of the dx myself. My last NL Dr read my MRI and argued with me over the phone...
