  1. my favorite food was bread to. if you can find schar's white dinner rolls, they are amazing! almost the real thing in taste. my husband couldnt taste the difference at all.

also pamela's glutino kinnickick gluten free pantry cherrydale farms have good mixes.

all the stuff is sort of expensive so that takes some getting used to.

i found an Ian's pizza kit (no gluten, dairy, or soy) and it was very good. i made one mistake and didnt put any seasonings in the crust, when i mixed it so it was a little bland, but the texture and flavor were good and even tasted good the next day. highly recommend that:)

    nana's has good cookies.

bakery on main is the best granola ever. my sister and her friends tried to eat all of mine!

  2. i love glutino, schar, kinnickinikk, gluten free pantry, and pamela's

there are also lots of cook and baking books if you would like to make your own. Roben Ryberg is one of the best i have seen so far. Her first book has one of the best biscuit recipes i have ever had (including regular).

bread was my favorite food before. if you can find schar's white rolls (sold in a 4pack) they are almost like real bread. my husband ddn't even notice they were different until he saw me take a bite of it. haha. so i highly highly recommend them. i think they would be worth the shipping if they arent sold near you.

  3. i took trinessa for one month and towards the end i began having symptoms. I checked the manufacturer website and the ingredient list includes starch but they would not tell me what starch was used. i stopped using it and a week later stomach issues were gone. could be coincidence but i wouldnt risk it. here's a list i found online. still look at ingredients of course but the nest birth control i got hasn't gievn me any issues

  4. i was sick for three months solid before my diagnosis. i didn't eat, at all, and i stopped having my period for three months. after going on the gluten free diet my cycle regulated but it was completely different than it had been before. before, i had cramps, nausea, headaches, everything. they typically last 8-9 days. after the gluten free diet, the cramps never came back, nor did the nausea or headaches and instead of 8 days they are about 5-6 and very light. i have always wondered if there was a coincidence here or if the diet had anything to do with it. they weren't regular either until i got on the pill. i also started having severe depression about once every three or four moths on the first few days so the pill helped that too

    anyone know anything about this?

  5. I bought a pizza kit the other day and i was wondering if anyone has already made one. I have made gluten-free pizza before but the crust usually turns out weird. i was hoping someone would have a good reveiw or a suggestion to help me make it come out as good as possible. thanks!

  6. i remembered a couple others. i have seen pasta at wal-mart so if you havent looked there...its called debole. and i have eatena couple flavors of blue bunny ice cream do if dairy is okay read some of the labels, carefully of course because the ingredient list is long. kraft brand ranch is okay. they have a couple other dressings and things too so you can probably check with them. i have the gluten free grocery guide and i highly recommend it. if you have any specific things you want to know about, email me at bam_its_hannah@yahoo.com and i would be happy to check the book. it makes the grocery store much more manageable so i recommend investing in it though.

  7. dinty moore has a couple of things like the beef stew and chicken and rice. check the labels to be sure which ones. also swanson chicken broth has a couple of nroths that don't bother me. the chicken broth in particular i use quite a bit of. but check because the different sizes sometimes have different ingredients. there are rice crackers at taarget, i think they are back to nature or something like that. m&ms are fine, hershey's products are fine, like mr. goodbar, kisses and such. check any that you aren't sure of. snickers are okay but milky ways are not, i repeat are not. i thought they would be because they are so closely related to snickersw. dont repeat my mistake.

i have foung carl budding meat says gluten free on the label and their is a deli meat that does too, some kind of boar....i'll have to check with the nme and get back here to be sure. jello is fine and i checked with jello products and they say that if it says something like modified food starch but doesn't list what kind t is, it is safe because they list out all their allergens now. but i encourage you to check yourself just to remain in the habit. i would even look on their website. cape cod chips are safe and they are soooo good. if i think of any more i will be back on here.

p.s. lea and perrains original is completely safe and is a must-have for any kitchen!

  8. when I have dreams like this, it feels real. like i can really taste it and smell it. i usually wake up feeling sick. no real symptoms justa small amount of nausea and fear that i messed up on my diet, before i realize it was just a dream. they tend to go away when i don't worry as much about what i am missing but it still happens so i dont know what causes them to be honest

  9. there are so many things you can buy at health stores or order online. frozen dinners, "granola" bars. you can eat on the go or whatever. but do you realize how serious celiac disease is? your lower intestine gets damaged. there is no guarantee that it will heal fully when you "feel" like changing your diet. Eat healthy and ask questions on here. i have only been on this site two days and i have already learned a lot! take the time, because your health is important!

  10. don't worry. i think everyone has a different experience. for me, I lost my appetite while I was still eating normal food because it hurt SO much to eat. I cannot even describe it, but if you have the gastro symptoms you know exactly what I am talking about. But after switching the diet to gluten free, i thought my appetite would return and it didn't. It still hurt to eat and i was worried that yet again, the doctor was wrong. I talked to him about it and he said that many different things happen after a celiac changes diets.

    1. in my case, your body is damaged and when it tries to digest and absorb with the villi still being flattened, it is going to hurt and that i should add things back slowly. starting with fruits, ten veggies, then gluten-free grains, then meat. understand that about four months before my diagnosis i had stopped eating entirely. to make my family happy i ate about 1/4 of a cup of jello....a day. if i could. so going back to eating was hard. and i didn't like it.

    2. in some cases, the body will crave because of the lack of nutrition prior. which is a good thing, i think. it means your body is digesting those things!

i can tell you from experience after a few months, when i began eating more normally i gained about 30 lbs. then after that, with a few more months of my metabolism balancing i lost 10 of them which put me at 120lbs at 5'8''

so weight fluctuation, appetite changes, all these things happen to a lot of us. and im sure other things that i didn't experience as well

how long have you been gluten free?

  11. I would say get tested. You have more symptoms than I ever did. Mine were limited to stomach problems mainly.

    bloating

    diahrrea

    constipation

    fatigue

    naseu

    loss of appetite

    pain in my stomach

    even the fuzzy thoughts

and the rash is probably dh (look up dh and celiac disease and find pictures, see if there are similarities) but I have never experienced that. I also found that even when I touch bread a lot (like working in a bakery) I would be sick the next day. I recommend at least the blood test because you have nothing to lose in doing that.

  12. Hi,.. I'm new to this forum and havea few questions... I'm 21 years old and for the past 6-7 Months I started feeling very odd.. well actually how I noticed this all was when I started trying to lose weight.. I wanted to be fit.. I'm currently 6'1'' 190 pounds.. and I was originaly 225 pounds.. I started working out ... jogging.. eating healthier.. (Cutting beer out to a minimum of 1-2 a week oppossed to having a couple almost every day and partying and drinking a crap load of beer on the weekends) I also started eating alot of whole wheat bread and cereal instead of white... ate quite abit of pasta aswell especially before I would play Hockey.. I started getting concerned once i was losing quite abit of weight.. It was never this easy in the past for me to do this.. I seemed to just be shedding weight left and right.. to date I would say I've lost about 30-35 pounds in a 6-7 month time frame.. anyway to keep things short.. here's the symptoms ive experianced..

Rash- Mainly on my scalp and chest.. Inner thighs back.. arms and butt (The rah on my scalp I thought was just pimples or something.. i would kinda scratch at the mand they would be liquidy.. my hairdresser even mentioned they looked like an allergic reaction... the ones on my butt were the same.. and the ones on my inner thighs and arms were more of a itchy red rash which i thought was just caused by sweating and being irritated.

Depression and Nervousness- My grandma was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and my mom was very sick for awhile <-- Could be caused from that

Edgy- I've been edgy and very snappy for no apparent reason when people say things or ask me something..

Constipation- I've experianced consipation a few time in the past 6 or so months

    Diarhea- Same thing as constipation

Fatigue- I've experianced some fatigue.. but the same could be said about feeling energetic.. Since i've lost this weight I do feel alot more energetic.. but from time to time i get random bouts of Fatigue

Palpitations- Ectopic heartbeats and the feeling of my heart pumping

    Dizziness- Pretty says it

    Fuzzy thoughts

  13. Could you be pregnant?

I have been on birth control for a while, but I recently had to switch. I thought I would still be protected. Would pregnancy triggers symptoms like this. And if it was a dairy allergy, is it possible for me to only feels the effects of it occasionally instead of every time I eat it? I guess I will be getting a pregnancy test and cutting some things out for a while.

  14. I am nineteen and have been on a gluten free diet for three years. I usually have no problems with the diet. However, lately I have been having stomach symptoms. A couple times this week I have had the infamous gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue and weight loss (only 6 pounds but in a week it feels like a lot). Does anyone know if there are any disorders that sound like this? I don't think it is contamination because I have eaten at home all week and my husband and I are very careful about labeling and preventing cross contamination. I cannot find any food that is questionable and it hasn't been the same food at any time. Maybe another food allergy that I am unaware of with these symptoms..? Thanks everyone for reading. I have been hoping to come across a forum like this!
