I'm new to the gluten-free lifestyle. I'm going out tonight & saw the restaurant's menu online. They have a char-grilled tenderloin. Obviously I would get it with no bun, but does anyone know if that would be gluten-free?
thanks

well you are definitely not alone. i just got diagnosed last week & i'm struggling as well.
I'm sure i'll get sick of salad & other foods that I know are gluten-free soon.
Grocery shopping was very depressing.
You are right, all we have to do is change our diet, but it's FOREVER and that's very intimidating.
Bummer about no rice & peanuts...that would make it that much harder.
You are not alone. Hang in there.
I feel your pain

HeyI was diagnosed a couple months ago. I have been having a very hard time getting a handle on what I can eat. Have other people found it difficult to get a hang of it. I mean, I just feel so overwhelmed and completely depressed about this. I feel silly even saying I'm depressed about it because, I mean, all I have to do is change my diet. There are so many people that would like to be able to 'cure' themselves by chaning what they eat and here I am having a hard time with it.
I'm a vegetarian, but have introduced fish to my diet. I was eating a lot of rice bread/pasta and just found out that I"m allergic to rice, peanuts, tomatoes, citrus and everything in the pepper family. When I take out rice, I'm just not sure what to eat (if I stay vegetarian). I"m also lactose intollerant.
Feeling very discouraged...it's like a full time job just trying to figure this out. I will feel pretty good for a few days and then feel ROUGH again for the next few. I must be messing up or maybe it was the rice allergy.
I feel very isolated with this.

thanks. I'll see if my toaster has that option. I tried the bread i bought that was frozen. defrosted first then toasted. it wasn't awful. i wish it was bigger & fewer calories.
I use to put the frozen slices in the microwave for a couple seconds... then the toaster I got (I think a lot are like this now) has a frozen or defrost button on it and WOW that worked soooo much better then trying to defrost it some in the microwave first.I haven't found a store bread yet that I care for so when I want bread I make my own and cool/freeze it, majority of the time now though I prefer just heating up in a pan a white corn tortilla. Make it a little crispy not burnt and it is pretty good for anything (quick pizza, wraps, sandwiches, tacos/burritos etc).
Good Luck. Bread is defanately trial and error in the beginning.

Hello.
I just got diagnosed last Thursday. I'm still a little achey myself but hopeful & doing really well so far. I really don't see myself cheating---knowingly anyway. It's seeming to be very hard to learn what to eat & not eat, but i'm getting the hang of it. Good luck to you.
I was diagnosed with Celiac on Monday, I've been 3 days without gluten, today I woke up today not feeling well. Had a lot of pain, cramps. I was feeling much better since today. When should I start to feel ok not perfect but ok -
Congratulations. I just got diagnosed last Thursday. I hope I have your success. i would like to drop about 5 lbs. Obviously the goal is to stay gluten free, but a little lb loss would be fine!
Amazing, I have been gluten free for almost two months now and I have noticed something nice. I am eating less and very gradually losing weight. I almost always used to get 2-3 portions, at least two at each meal. Now I find I can stop after one serving! It occurred to me that this could be that I am getting my nutrients that I long was without. I am taking a multivitamin too, but this has been nice. I am down about 10lbs, and it is just very slowly going down.Have other people experienced this? Just curious, but happy.

This one was pre-sliced but already frozen. I"ll get my hammer ready. i'll keep your name handy for more questions, which will certainly come up!
When I get bread I'm going to freeze I slice it if not already sliced, then I put a piece of paper between the slcies . This makes for easy seperation . If not you usually will have to use a knife & hammer to get it seperated!!!!!You can thrw it in the fridge or I just nuke it for a few seconds to soften it up a bit, then toast or if making a sandwich I thraw the whole way.
Whole Foods has a small gluten-free bakery by their reg bakery. The WF white or sundried tomato/garlic bread makes yummy grilled cheese....
Anna's bread mix is a good mix if you decide to want to make your own
Please feel free to ask questions....

I just got diagnosed with celiac disease a few days ago so I'm virtually clueless about the diet...learning though.
I bought some Gluten-Free bread from Whole Foods in their frozen food section. Obviously I keep it frozen, but what do I want to do when I want to eat it? I don't want soggy bread.
THANKS to anyone who can help.
