  1. I was told by my doctor to take Miralax for the C and I'm having the worst gluten reaction I've ever had. I'm actually afraid!! I looked at my gluten-free books and I couldn't find that it was actually a gluten-free product in the 2009 updates, but trusted that she knew what she was talking about or she wouldn't have told me to take it. I know that manufacturer...
  2. I appreciate the information. It's comforting to know that there is hope. I will try the niacin and again, thank you for the info. Knowing what to expect is such a help. It's so hard to know what is normal and abnormal anymore. I just took Miralax, which is suppose to be gluten-free, but I'm having the worst reaction I've ever had to anything...ever...
  3. Thanks for the tips guys. No, they would not test me for parasites. I'm thinking I'll just bring a bunch of them with me to the doctor's appointment. Bet that would get me the test. :-) No, actually I think I've developed a phobia about being able to communicate effectively with a doctor. I never communicate what I think I am to them and it ends up...
  4. I have bought a couple of books lately that are suppose to be safe guides to gluten-free products, but they don't agree with one another on many items. I found the Clan Thompson pocket guides to have several hidden gluten items, but yet listed them as 'safe'. Is there a really trustworthy source, other than my reactions?
  5. I was wondering if you have found a doctor yet? I live near your area and have recently started seeing a ND. It seemed to make sense to find someone to help with diet and someone to help with the medical issues that are a result of the celiac. I really don't think mainstream doctors are informed on diseases like this: they're not trained in wellness or...
  6. Yes, I have. I've been talking a lot for the past 10 years to several, "my doctor(s)." I either seem like a nut or I don't make myself clear, or something?? Anyway, it's taken this long to get someone to check for Celiac. After I spoke to the doctor about what I was seeing in the potty, she said it was something I was eating. Hmm... I feel defeated at...
  7. I don't have an answer that I know will work for you; I do have a simple suggestion that has helped me clear my body of the gluten much faster, so the mental confusion, puffy eyes, tired, etc...are not completely overwhelming. I read about organic coffee enemas and then spoke with my doctor about doing them. She said to try it once a day and gradually move...
  8. I have been looking for gluten-free cosmetics and finally bought Arbonne. I understood most of their products were gluten free. I carefully bought from that list with the help of the rep, at my home. Then I began to have glutened episodes and by process of elimination, it was down to the Arbonne...... the lipstick.......I think. I then read, at the very...
  9. I have layers and layers of problems just like everyone else with celiac disease......but, I also have parasites that refuse to budge. I've done everything I've ever heard of and I'm still infested. I understand that these things can be just as devastating as the celiac disease. I would really appreciate some help. Oh, I know that there are over 3,00...
  10. Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I think I've been more upset about my mind going, than my body. I have heard, but don't know, that the liver and other organs can get better, but the brain can't. Does anyone know if this is true?
  11. I suppose like everything else in the world of celiacs; it's about the level of sensitivity to gluten. For me, it was a must to make my dogs gluten-free. They sleep with me, they live in the house, they give me kisses and I touch them throughout the day. I don't wash my hands everytime or I would have raw hands. It made so much difference to put them...
  12. This is a delayed reply, but I have found that unless you de-gluten everything in your life, then symtoms will persist. I completely went through the bathroom, kitchen, laundry and household products. There isn't a thing in this house that has gluten. Once I did that, I could see a real difference. I get the rash on my hands so I was always open for gluten...
  13. I've only known for a few weeks that I have celiac, which has explained a lot about my problems. I am very worried that my sanity is gone though. I don't know how many of you struggle with this, but it really scares me. Does celiac damage the brain for good? I used to just get the fog, but now when I eat or touch gluten or some other food I've become...
  14. Thank you all for your advice. I guess I wasn't clear: I've known for a few weeks that I have Celiac, but I don't understand all the symtoms. I feel better if I don't eat at all as it seems to make all the problems much better. Not being able to go to the bathroom has turned into a nightmare and makes me sick all over. I have so many complaints that I...
  15. I feel kinda lazy/stupid, but I've never done this before. JUst in case it makes to the posts though: I have heart palpitations, insomnia, chronic constipation and I'm not sure whether I'm going crazy or if it's the celiac. I don't have a doctor in this little town and the one I did see made me feel like I was a nut to even say 'celiac', so does anyone...
