I'm 99.9% sure I don't do anything half-assed -- not my nature I bought several books, including recipe books, and I know that there has been nothing suspect in any of the food I've knowingly consumed. My husband was in charge of cooking, but he knows how important this is (he sees it as a new cooking challenge and is determined to make me happy and healthy...
  2. I started developing syptoms that I now recognize as wheat-related at the same time I started developing the symptoms that would eventually become my type 1 diabetes. So this doesn't strike me as off at all.
  3. Not to hijack, but does that mean that "natural flavors" should be okay if undisclosed?
  4. I feel for you -- and your coworkers! (joke ) My best friend is epileptic and she's ALWAYS counting the months she's controlled, until she gets her license back. She works within walking distance to my house, so I often take her home if her fiance or parents aren't available. I don't mind it at all, but I see how hard it is for her to be at the mercy of everyone...
  5. So I'm on my 5th day of gluten-free (will see my doc in a few hours for a specific diagnosis -- jumped the gun a bit). The first two days of gluten-free were okay, with continued diarrhea. Last two days were pretty good -- NO stomach problems, "normal" poo, slightly increased energy. I woke up this morning to get ready for work, though, and felt that familiar...
  6. Unfortunately, what I've been told is "what's normal for you". Some people go everyday, some people every few days. Some people are more solid, some liquidy. My basic definition is: if it's not liquid, and it doesn't hurt coming out, it's probably normal
  7. Sounds like a migraine; I get them often. Is it in a band from the base of your skull up around your forehead? Where is it?
  8. So I've been what I call "half sick" for about three years. I'm a type 1 diabetic (diagnosed two years ago) and about the time I think the beta cells started going, I started getting wicked stomach problems. The constant swinging between constipation and diarrhea was (still is) intolerable. I have actually (sorry, TMI, but I figure that's par for the course...
