  4. I just wanted to let everyone know that a Celiac episode aired today I didn't get the chance to watch it but luckily it is repeating next week Sunday October 23 12noon channel DHC. Did anyone else watch it today? Karen
  5. I love Amy's frozen food so much that every once and awhile I go to Bellingham, Washington to do a gluten free shop there. I have looked at so many stores around here but I guess the gluten free Amy's that I like just isn't available in Canada yet. Karen

  8. My appendix was about to rupture so was taken out right away at around age 9. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease November 2004 at the age of 24. Karen

  10. I put cream of mushroom in mine... I package pasta cooked I can president's choice cream of 3 mushroom soup grated cheddar cheese to cover top of casserole dish 1 can tuna I put it in the oven till the cheese is melted and enjoy Karen
  11. I think it was Freybe that we bought it from last time or it could have been Grimm's but I am pretty sure it was Freybe either one. They are both great Gluten Free companies that I get a lot of stuff from. Karen
  12. I personally think it would be great for you to go to a conference in Canada. For example at the one that I just went to there was info about osteoporosis and celiac, diabetes, babies and celiac, proper testing to get done, research being done, tons of great food to eat and buy and great people to meet as well. Karen
  13. I had a lot of fun at this years conference in Edmonton. There were a lot of informative speakers including Dr. Peter Green who was great. There were a lot of distributors there with product samples, and of course some for sale. I brought an empty suitcase with me so that I could bring home lots of stuff and I did.   14. I am definitely going as well. I went to the conference this year in Edmonton and was talking to some of the people from Toronto about next year's conference and I can't wait. We will even get to keep the menus fromt he gala dinner. Karen
  15. I am happy to hear that you had a great time on your cruise and especially that you didn't get sick. I am looking forward to my first cruise gluten free but I think it will be awhile till I get a vacation. I just a new job that I will be starting next. But, the cruise will be worth the wait. Karen

  18. I was diagnosed in November and my immediate family only got tested just over a month ago. I just kept on them about getting testing since they were putting it off then they finally did it. My Mom came back negative and my brother and father haven't got results yet. My Dad goes to the doctor this afternoon so we'll see. I would just tell your family members...

  21. For restaurants I really recommomend Serenity Natural Foods Deli/Cafe on west 4th I love their soup and chocolate chip cookies.   23. It is also a good idea to have the IgA test along with the TTG test in case you are IgA deficient with celiac disease. If you are IgA deficient and have celiac disease the test can sometimes come back as a false negative. Karen
  24. My Father is from Germany and my Mother has Englush on her side. I have brown hair and blue eyes and light skin. My Dad has symptoms I think. We are waiting still for the test results. I am the only one diagnosed in my family so far. Karen
  25. I sent them an email a couple of weeks ago and they sent me the same reply. So, when I go on vacation next week I am not sure if I am going to bother going there. If they would have at least mentioned a few menu items that would be safe than I would have gone. Karen
