  1. Lays Stax (all flavors) are on sale at Winn Dixie Supermarkets for 5 for $5. The pizza flavored ones didn't note "This product is naturally gluten free" so I called. Apparently, they are still working out a few labeling kinks but the rep said every flavor is gluten-free made in a separate facility than gluten products. I know this is old news to some...
  2. I currently have a prescription for Phenergan. I also received a RX when I was pregnant with awful morning sickness. What I know is that it is a medicine very commonly dispensed for nausea. The one side effect that I did notice each and every time is sleepiness. As a result, I take it at night whenever possible. Of course, the effects vary I imagine...
  3. My twin daughters are 4 and have been gluten-free since the beginning of December. The one who was failure to thrive and the first to be diagnosed celiac gained 4 lbs! Life was good. Two weeks ago, they got a cold....a bad one. I didn't worry about the appetite slipping because I thought with post nasal drip, coughing etc. it's alright. I noticed she...
  4. If you plan doesn't require you to have a referral, you could just take her to a GI doc would know the most about the testing and entire the process of diagnoses. Shoot, even if you do need a referral, you can tell the ped that you would feel more comfortable taking this further in efforts to help your daughter now....rather than trying to backtrack a year...
  5. Hi there, Of course the most alarming part of your post is that her condition significantly improves while not ingesting gluten. My daughters were 4 when they were diagnosed so by then, we could have skin allergy testing done on them to figure out if it was a food allergy contributing to the symptoms. Nothing came up positive but there are a few...
  6. That is really great! My daughter just turned 4. It has been one month since going gluten-free and she's gained 4.5 lbs. Cute little thing now looks a tiny bit pudgie because her height hasn't spiked yet but hey....we'll take it! So I am empathize with how the growing feels. Good for you guys! Christine

  8. I think I'm having a gluten-free brain freeze. I haev brown rice and it has just that as an inredient. However, the white rice (by Success specifically) looks like it is fortified a bit with Niacin, folic acid etc. I went to their website and they had no mention to microwavable rice. I raided the pantry to other rice and all of my white rices had...
  9. Thinking back, the pale stools Dina had did not float. Her IgG (blood test) did come back positive, at 75. She also had a CBC done (at the time, they thought her symptoms were from anemia....weren't we suprised). The results of the CBC showed mild anemia. The other testing I had done was by an Allergist. They did the allergy test on their back for...
  10. I have twin daughters who turned 4 in December. The first week of December Dina, was confirmed through bloodwork, endo, and biopsy as Celiac. Since her twin showed elevated IgG levels too, we decided to have them both go gluten-free. Now granted, the first week seemed like a blur....lots of learning. Shoot...who am I kidding, I am still learning. Anyway...
  11. I'm relatively new to this arena with twin daughters who just turned 4. One specifically was failure to thrive with...among other characteristics....consistantly pale stools. However, her IgG came back at 75 which is definitely positive followed up with a endoscopy and a biopsy showing celiac. For us, nothing brought back the color to the stools until...
  12. ACTII just recently revised their statement on this. The one below is different from what I have on file. This below seems to be the typical ConAgra blurb. Hope you get some popcorn soon! Christine Which of your products contain gluten? We are sorry to inform you that we do not have a source that lists the gluten content of our products. However...
  13. I discovered this on their website this morning and wanted to pass it along. Christine My child has an intolerance to the gluten protein found in wheat. What products do NOT contain this ingredient? A: Dum Dum Pops, Super Dum Dums, Ice Cream Dum Dums, Saf-T-Pops, Swirl Saf-T-Pops, Astro Pops, Marshmallow Treats, Candy Canes, Cane Classics...
  14. We recently experienced a portion of your experiences with our twin daughters who turned 4 in December, three days after a diagnosis. For us, our one daugther was VERY sick, failure to thrive, etc. All the dr.'s thought anemia but the bloodwork came back positive, very positive antibodies to gliadin. In our situation, with her being as sick as she...
  15. I called ConAgra the other day to inquire about Blue Bonnet Margarine. The first lady told me they are all gluten-free. The second person gave me the specific UPC code of only the Light margarine sticks being gluten-free. Today I called and got a guy who confirmed the light sticks were the ones on their gluten-free list. I inquired about the regular sticks...
  16. I completely agree! I was also thinking about the EBV when I first read your post. I have 2 daughters with Celiac and are awaiting my own test results. However, I can tell you that in addition to a host of the GI issues, I've had the mono virus three times in the last 10 years (I'm 29). Most physicians that practice family or internal medicine tell you...
  17. I'm new here. We've been officially gluten-free for one week. I have twin daughters who just turned 4 with Celiac (I'm in question awaiting biopsy results). I posted on the parenting board but thought I'd ask here as well. I BELIEVE we are in the clear on products we'd use in the bathroom (bath soaps, etc.) laundry soap, dish soap too. BUT I don't know...
  18. I'm new fair. We've been officially gluten-free for one week. I have twin daughters who just turned 4. I BELIEVE we are in the clear on products we'd use in the bathroom (bath soaps, etc.) BUT I don't know about their "lipsticks" (which to a 4 year old is chapstick things of some kind). Please advise which products we are to stay away from with Celiac...
  19. Hiya.... I'm no where near an expert on Celiac yet......we just received a diagnoses on my twins about 1 week ago. One had typical Celiac symptoms and came up very high on a blood test. The other, is currently a thriving 4 year old. However, she can up at the borderline just positive. Since one of them was confirmed though an endoscopy and biopsy,...
  20. Hiya... We are new here. I am 29, awaiting results of my own biopsy. I have twin daughters who just turned 4. One was diagnosed failure to thrive and went through testing. Positive IgG and biopsy. The other, just low positive bloodwork. We have begun a gluten-free diet one week ago. I'm noticing diarrhea in both children today? It's brown but...
